Detailed Reviews
Heather wrote a review Mar 2020
Our group of about 20 or so (varies from year to year) have been going to Stevenson's Lodge for 35 years, when the original owners, Harry and Tenny, were still alive. It is an incredibly beautiful area on the Madawaska River, where some of the Group of Seven actually stayed and sketched. Yes, the cabins are rustic, there is no hot water and there are only public showers, yet the owners Brian and Ralph are very nice people, and Ralph can fix anything. He has fixed our boat motor on more than one occasion. There are pedal boats, kayaks, a large dock, beach and you can rent a motor boat. The prices are fair and consistent. It is aso far enough North so that on a clear night, you can see the Milky Way from the dock. It is not a resort, but then, we weren't looking for a resort, we were looking for a place we liked enough to want to return to every year, and we found it.

We were long time customers (29 years ) The lake and surrounding area is beautiful. However the owner Brian Stevenson has gotten complacent and the cabins and the docks are falling apart. EG. as you enter the property it looks like a junkyard for boats, The cabins are rudimentary at best no hot water, the beds are too short the mattress's have not been changed for as long as we have been going there VERY uncomfortable, our cabin (22) the kitchen sink and toliet leaked, the front porch had more paper towels in the screen than screen. Our dock was crushed by a tree during the winter but was never removed or fixed by summer time. The cabins have no shower or bath only a public shower (yuck) If you like living like a hill- billy then your in luck. D. Bradford.
