Cobblers Cove Hotel garners compliments for its charming and comfortable rooms with picturesque views, though the occasional guest mentions outdated elements and room allocation mishaps. The hotel's amenities and cleanliness receive high marks, with guests enjoying the luxurious offerings and pristine surroundings. However, some feel the hotel falls short on value, noting high prices and less-than-luxurious experiences. Its location is praised for beach proximity, despite concerns about coastal erosion. While service is generally seen as warm and responsive, instances of inconsistency are noted.

My husband and I returned from Cobblers Cove Barbados on Feb 8, 2020 after 10 days.
I cannot say enough about how totally amazing this very special place is to us!
On our second trip, staff remembered us from the previous year! The manager, Will Oakley greeted us at the entrance upon arrival and we received one of those ice cold heavenly towels soaked in lavender.

We stayed in the same suite, oceanfront, and I believe the same birds from last year greeted us every morning. The food is top notch, we ate every meal on the property. This year they added a Napa Valley Cab from Berlinger to the menu, it was very reasonably priced to be ranked in the top 1 percent in the world, and top 12 percent in Napa Valley! Mr. Oakley offered to allow me to speak to his wine distributor but I actually drank that wine and a fair number of their signature “rum punches,” with no need to ask for other wines to choose from( I am a collector).

There was nothing I longed for... actually I almost thought they remembered my requests from last year as I first walked into my suite (do they take notes?).

My husband and I took a “bespoken tour” of St Nicholas Abbey and some other notable areas of the island with Miguel Pena, an amazing historian and champion for restoration and preservation on the Barbados Island. I learned much in 3 hours and took about a thousand photos. Well worth the cost.

Mostly I relaxed. And that in itself is a miracle.

I highly recommend the Cobblers Cove as we have already made our reservations for next year.

Overall we had a wonderful stay. The team was very accommodating and not intrusive at all although friendly and chatty. Cobblers is a gorgeous, small boutique hotel, quietly set on the stunning platinum coast line with a beautiful pink main building, bedrooms set in a lovely garden and views over the lapping water. Sunbathing by the pool, with the warm calm sea right next to you is the biggest treat. The check in and reception team were lovely and our room (garden view) was perfect for us. We had to quarantine for 48 hours on arrival, but this was managed well and there were separate areas for guests in quarantine or after testing. We really enjoyed the water sports on offer and went paddle boarding, snorkelling and swimming with turtles- incredible. The restaurant looks over the water which is a real treat, the breakfasts were good, they occasionally missed things from our order or things weren’t available but nothing to much. We only had one dinner in the restaurant, on island night, where the service was great and the food was delicious. Our only real gripe about the food was the cost of the sides on the bar menu- it was 2 sides for 1 fixed price, but if you only ordered one side you were still charged for two- this seems silly but once we knew we just ordered two. It might be worth the bar staff mentioning this when taking an order and offering a second if only one is requested.
All in all we loved our stay, all the staff were really friendly and made an effort with the guests. Clearly guests are needed on this beautiful island but although it was quieter than it normally would be, it was a wonderful stay, thank you!

We arrived around 8pm hot and tired ,we were greeted by a lovely lady on reception who gave us cool towels and told us to drop our bags and relax . We were taken to the bar by Richard who made us very welcome and made sure we had a drink he then asked whether we like to eat before or after we were shown to our rooms, we chose to eat and have a drink in the lovely restaurant. The next morning after a great nights sleep in the most comfortable beds we headed for breakfast where we met The charming Wade he showed us to our table and after breakfast gave us a tour of the hotel, he sure knows his stuff and he never forgot our names for the rest of our stay , you are very fortunate to have such a lovely guy working for you at cobblers cove.
The staff at this hotel are the best, they are polite, helpful and have the best sense of humour, the bar staff are hilarious and always on hand to help, the guys that look after the sun beds and towels are just great such lovely guys. When you walk into this hotel you immediately know you have made a good choice. This hotel has a soul and l will definitely be back. We left just as Barbados had 2 cases of Corona virus ,please god you all remain safe.

Based on the photos. I expected a vintage styled glam version of Barbados. I was thinking marvelous Mrs Maisel. Instead I got to compare photos to actuality time and time again. The buildings are pink and the staff is nice. However the room descriptions are not 100% honest. Our partial ocean view suite consisted of leaving the patio (which faced the wall to the kitchen) then turning a hard left and standing on your toes. The suite portion was not air conditioned but rather just the bedroom was. The bathroom lacked ac as well. The living room was open with the option to close shutters. Think outdoor porch. No glass in windows etc.. Had I had a beautiful view and an ocean breeze I would not have minded as much however staring at the kitchen wall was not the romantic holiday I had planned or paid for. After spending 40 min trying to figure what hotel we could move to we called the front desk and were moved to a garden room where the suite was enclosed and air conditioned everywhere but the bathroom. The view was of the garden which is fine but once again not what I came there for or paid. I was not given a refund for the room difference even though the partial ocean view was more expensive. The beach.... there are no chairs on the beach as it is too narrow by the property. You could walk down the beach but no chairs. The water is crystal clear and warm and the sunsets are breathtaking. The pool had enough chairs and and 12 apprx of them overlooked the beach if you woke up and got chairs at 8am. Otherwise enjoy a chair by the pool.
I struggled with this review as the staff were really nice but the bottom line is that I would hate for someone to go to Cobblers cove and have the wtf moment we had, but if you score a great deal just know what you are in for. We would not go back.

Top tips for management:
1) unless you can view the ocean from the room it is not a partial ocean view.
2) disclose that some rooms, all areas are not air conditioned.
3) if a client downgrades because of the ac/view issue refund them the difference.

We had a beautiful upstairs garden room, with very comfortable bed and lounge furniture to relaxing in the evening. We appreciated the little kitchenette in order to make a hot drink. The room was beautiful, cool and relaxing with white woodwork and complimentary pale pink and green linen. We really appreciated the small details such as the organic toiletries, cool water to drink and biscuit in the evening. I particularly liked the bathrooms! The dining room has an extensive menu and the food is fabulous. Lunch was my favourite meal with choices such as fresh fish, lobster, lamb, salads and some Italian dishes. The The evening menu was equally impressive and the mango soufflé to die for! All the staff were efficient friendly with a sense of humour. A lovely touch with the afternoon tea. I enjoyed my first attempt at waterskiing and the watersports staff were very encouraging and supportive. We really enjoyed meeting other guests at cocktail time and we felt very much like personal houseguests. A good base for exploring the island but giving rest and relaxation. Would definitely recommend and would love to return again.

The service is perfect, facilities, staff, systems all top drawer. It's a trip back to the 50's. While everything is clean, neat and upkeep is excellent, you still get to enjoy a trip back to the best parts of the 1950's

Had a very late flight inbound and showed up to check in at 1 in the morning. They were ready for us, we didn't have to worry about formal check in, "we'll take care of that in the morning at your convience" escorted to the room, which was excellent including a plate of sandwiches just in case we were hungry after our flight.

They do it right.

My daughter, 13 year old grand daughter and I have just spent a fabulous 9 nights at Cobblers Cove Speightstown , Barbados. Everything about the hotel was perfect, it is so pretty with lovely pink and white striped umbrellas over sunbeds surrounding the pool, which is quite small but sparklingly clean. The gardens are a delight with many different flowering plants and different species of palm trees all very lush and tropical. We saw humming birds, yellow birds and lots of little brown birds which liked to come in to our room! then there were the monkeys who entertained us daily with their antics. We had a two bedroom suite which was extremely comfortable. The beds were great with super mattresses and pillows. The bathrooms are great with lovely St Lucy bath/hair products. The beach is glorious, very unspoilt without any sunbeds ruining it. You can walk along it to Speightstown in about 10 minutes where there are some really good restaurants, banks, pharmacy and general stores. The swimming off the beach is fantastic as is snorkelling. One of the best things at Cobblers are the staff, each and everyone did their best to make our stay memorable, from our arrival to the minute we had to leave. I'm not mentioning names as I don't want to leave anyone out but all are lovely. The boys at the water sport centre are terrific, they taught my grand daughter to water ski and also got me going again after a long break. We skied every day and loved every minute of it. It's a huge bonus that water sports are included in the hotel rate, you can also go on a boat trip if you're not into water sports. The majority of the guests during our stay were families with teenagers, at one point I think I was the eldest guest and my grand daughter the youngest! The hotel isn't really geared up for small children as there's no club for them, and the pool doesn't have a really shallow part, neither is it big enough for children's toys to be launched! The food is very good at every meal and although there s only one restaurant (which looks out to sea), you can have lunch round the pool and I believe you can have dinner in a gazebo if you want a romantic meal away from other guests. Cobblers is a lovely, luxurious but unpretentious hotel where you will be looked after very, very well. As my grand daughter says, it's our 'Most favourite place in the world' We can't wait to return, Thank you all.

For the discriminating, the spoiled, the discerning and the travelled this hotel is a shining star.
It’s hard up against the ocean with a coral break that discourages all hawkers. The privacy and tranquility is made completely by elaborate tropical fern planters and emplacements and ultra high end recliners allow to relax while enjoying the birdsong and waves with no music.
Management clearly gets it in every way with thoughtful design touches enhancing basic “ Barbados Beach House”
sensibilities with well chosen triple weight towels, ultra comfortable beds and pillows, high end linens with the best light robes I’ve ever seen. Super friendly welcome at the front desk gave way to thoughtful service at the restaurant and pool.
This hotel is a gem and I am a grateful current guest.

A quaint boutique hotel and a lovely place to stay. Our room was large with a big sitting area with a balcony overlooking the ocean. A good size bathroom with twin sinks and a walk in shower( water pressure could have been better) Tea/coffee facilities with fresh milk in the minibar. Excellent terrace and pool, although small was quite adequate. Lots of very comfortable loungers without a fight to get one. The sea comes right up to the terrace so access is very easy with handy shower facility as you re-enter the terrace. A rocky breakwater helps create both a calmer area to swim and a good place to snorkel. Staff served you fruit, sorbets and water to guests on the terrace and afternoon tea was included at no extra cost.
The restaurant was highly rated but our experience was mixed. Whilst staff were friendly and helpful service was inconsistent with some long waits and errors. The quality of the food was also variable with some very good dishes but others not inspiring. Some choices of ingredients were very odd, for example to serve lobster on tagliatelle with a tomato chilli sauce meant the delicate taste of lobster was totally lost. Breakfast was reasonable from a somewhat limited menu with occasional long waits and errors.
However, despite the criticisms overall it was a delightful place to spend a holiday and we will come again.

Cobblers has been transformed. We arrived for the October half term break and were blown away by the amount of money, time and effort that has gone into to turning the property into a Messel inspired Caribbean dreamscape. We were whisked through reception by the lovely staff, and shown to our rooms set in tropical gardens of giant ferns, climbing orchids, coconut palms and bougainvillea. Our second covid test was arranged immediately and within 12 hours we were sitting in the main dining room enjoying fresh lobster linguine (for me) and a prime beef cheeseburger for my daughter. (The food is so good that guests from Coral Reef were coming here each night for dinner). The staff were incredible, so keen to make sure we were comfortable, the rooms have all been redecorated to extremely high standards, and the children were busy with Bradley on the boat, waterskiing, snorkeling and doughnutting. I had read glowing reviews in Tatler, The Times and Conde Nast Traveller magazine and in every respect, the hotel did not disappoint. What a treat we had!!

Hello - no, the review that you read was rather inaccurate. The hotel has been in the same family ownership since it was founded in 1968. And management has not changed either, except to the extent that we have a fabulous General Manager in Joanna Roterberg, who has been with the hotel since 2020. Best wishes, Hugh Godsal (owner)

You can walk along the beach into Speightstown. If you walk to the Fishermen's pub in middle its approximately 1.5km. We are keen walkers and found walking a bit limited.

Yes, there is easy access to the sea between these rocks and the little reef/breakwater about 50 metres out help to make access into the sea easier if there is a bit of a swell. But when the tide is in it comes virtually up to the rocks. There are sunbeds on a level above with steps down to the beach at one end, or in the middle to the beach. There is a lovely quiet stretch of beach to one side (Godings Bay) which is often calmer than the sea in front of the hotel, I often swam there as the sea between the little breakwater and the beach could become quite choppy with waves coming over the top and the back wash - that's when the waves are bigger, but generally the west coast is fairly calm. So - basically, no, there are no sunbeds on the beach. Hope this makes sense!
