HCC Montblanc is situated right in the heart of the city, just 500 metres from Plaza Catalunya and bordering the charismatic Gótico neighbourhood. The hotel's location makes it the best choice for soaking up the atmosphere and life of Barcelona, and for discovering or revisiting its most emblematic corners, such as the Palau de la Música, the Ramblas, the Cathedral, Plaza Catalunya, the neighbourhoods of the Born and Barceloneta, among many others. Hotel HCC Montblanc is a new building, and has recently been extended. The hotel makes a good choice for a stay that is full of contrasts and unforgettable moments.

We stayed at the HCC Montblanc for 3 nights and some aspects were good while others were bad. Our room was clean and air-conditioned, and the hotel itself is very centrally located. It was also reasonably priced. However, the bed was springy and uncomfortable. The rooms do not look as good as they do in the professionally staged photos. They were quite stingy with pillows and towels. Our room only have two pillows and two towels, but strangely had 3 blankets. Weird for summer conditions. Also, rather than have a towel mat for the shower exit they use paper which is much less effective and sanitary. They also don’t replace the paper mat and have you reuse throughout your stay - which to me felt very cheap on their part. The paper mat was foul after the first two shower uses. The AC also is pretty weak - so consider than when staying here during the summer. Finally, I did not find the front desk staff to be particularly welcoming or helpful. Check in was an icy interaction. We also asked about towels for the beach and were basically told to go find one ourselves with no useful suggestions about where to acquire one. I will definitely not return in future trips to Barcelona.

The HCC Hotel Montblanc is a fabulous hotel in Barcelona, my 14 night stay there was very good.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient.
The facilities are perfectly suited for all types of travellers, whether a solo guest or couples etc, the hotel is spotless and beautifully decorated.
My room was large, very clean and perfect for my needs, I choose to include a daily breakfast, in which there was a very nice choice of hot food and cold items
such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, sliced meats, cheese, pastries, cereals, hot & cold drinks etc.
Overall I thoroughly recommend this hotel to any future traveller going to Barcelona and I will certainly stay there again should I return to Barcelona.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel our first night in Barcelona before we went on a Mediterranean cruise. We arrived early in the morning and were immediately made to feel very welcome. They stored our luggage for us (it was only 8:00 am so we had no expectation of our room being ready), and gave us access to very large and comfortable bathrooms where we could change our clothes. We headed out to explore the city and our room was ready when we came back in the early afternoon. It was very large and clean with a very comfortable bed. They have an outside bar and inside bar with a wonderful bartender named Sylvia. There is also a restaurant and a pool that we did not visit. Their location is perfect, and we were able to walk to Placa de Catalunya, the Arc de Triompf, Ciutadella Park, and Port Vell. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

My recent stay at HCC Montblanc offered a mixed bag of experiences, with some aspects shining brightly while others left much to be desired.
Let's start with the positives. One of the most commendable aspects of the hotel is its strategic location near the train station, providing easy access to various modes of transportation. This convenience greatly enhanced our mobility and made exploring the city hassle-free.
However, there were several notable drawbacks that detracted from our overall satisfaction. Firstly, the room lacked some basic amenities such as a water kettle and iron board, which are commonly expected in modern accommodations. Additionally, the air conditioning system seemed to be inconsistent, resulting in periods where the room temperature was less than ideal.
Furthermore, we were disappointed by the hotel's approach to replenishing toiletries. Unlike most establishments, they did not refill or provide soap and other essentials daily, leaving us to rely on our own supplies. Similarly, the complimentary water provided on the first day was not replenished throughout our stay, necessitating additional purchases.
On a more positive note, the room itself was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate two persons, providing ample space for relaxation and movement. Muchisimas gracias por su tiempo en opinar. Lamentamos no haber estado a la altura de sus expectativas. Gracias por destacar nuestra ubicación , justo en el centro de la ciudad de Barcelona, y muy cerca a pie de los principales atractivos turisticos así como de la zona de compras y restaurantes. Efectivamente no tenemos a disposición de nuestros clientes en la habitación ni la tabla de plancha ni el hervidor , tal y como informamos en nuestro directorio de servicios. De igual forma , se indica, al igual que lo hacemos en nuestra pagina web, que la piscina esta abierta solo en temporada de verano, por lo que ahora mismo se encuentra cerrada . Efectivamente ponemos un agua de cortesia en el momento del check in que no es repuesta dirariamente , lamentamos si ello le ha causado molestias. En cuanto a los amenities, son repuestos en caso de necesidad y en caso de que necesiten más cantidad, pueden indicarlo tanto en recpcion como al personal de pisos que se halla diraiamente en planta. Sentimos que no se haya encontrado satisfecho al 100%,, es para nosotros una maxima prioridad que nuestros clientes esten siempre comodos con nosotros. Tenemos tambien otros hoteles de 4 estrellas pertenecientes a nuestra misma cadena y situados en la misma zona que quizas puedan ajustarse más a sus necesidades. Atentamente.

Good location. Nice staff. Clean rooms. Should be a 4 or 5 star hotel. Decent breakfast. Wide bed. The only bad thing was that the prices kept changing, hence the 4 stars and not 5.
The first two days was 100€ each and the third day was 250€ so we chose to book another hotel for the third night. After booking the third night dropped to 100€ as well. Kinda sketchy

Met or exceeded all of my expectations. Breakfast buffet has a very good selection of hot, room temperature and cold foods, juices and a coffee machine that dispenses very hot water from a separate nozzle for tea. I detest the taste of coffee so this was a big bonus for me. Having said that there are two cafes roughly two hundred meters away if you want something small for breakfast at half of the buffet cost. We had a double bed that was two twin mattresses. One mattress was medium and the other was medium-firm. We couldn't figure out the air conditioning unit settings for the room to blow anything other than warm air so we opened the window that first night and slept well enough that we didn't bother to report it to the front desk. No mosquitos or bugs found us on the sixth floor in February. And we always travel with sleep masks and earplugs.

PROS: Great location close to the metro and placa de catalunya. Comfortable bed, powerful shower, complementary water in the room and welcome drink in the bar, as well as a paid mini bar / fridge for storing your own food and drink. Overall clean and acceptable room.
CONS: No tea and coffee making facilities in the room. No liquid hand soap, although a bar is provided, just not my preference. 2-in-1 body wash and shampoo. The lifts are very slow and seemed to have a mind of their own regarding which direction they travelled. We were allocated a room with a view of an internal courtyard (a term I use loosely, as it was basically a view of other people's rooms). We are not complainers and we were not there to spend our day in the room, but there was next to no natural light, and it was a bit of a kick in the teeth considering I booked months ago, direct with the hotel, and politely requested a nice view (I know there is no guarantee but many hotels offer a discount for internal rooms, which is what I would consider this to be).
To summarise, the price was competitive for the room and location, and I would probably stay again, but if you value a good view and waking up to the sun, contact the hotel to discuss room allocation.

Efectiamente tenemos kettles a servicio de nuestros clientes bajo petición tal y como indicamos en nuestro directorio, pero por seguridad e higiene , no tenemos este servicio en las habitaciones. Al respecto de la vista de la habitación, efectivamente no tenemos ningun inconveniente en cambiar de habitación si el cliente desea otra vista, como fué en su caso. Las preferencias de nuestros clientes son muy variadas y a no ser que nos lo indiquen en su reserva, solo podemos saberlo cuando llegan al hotel y nos lo informan. We spent 2 nights at HCC Montblanc on our way back to Canada after a 3 week vacation in Europe. The hotel is excellently located close to Plaza Catalunya and La Rambla, so everywhere was walking distance; even the Airport Bus was only 5 minutes away. The hotel is basic, but is wonderful value for money. It is spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet is very good with lots of variety. There are roadworks going on in the street, so ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

Very nice Hotel, in a very convenient for tourist location, close to Plaza Catalonia(3 min. walk) there you can get the Hop-on Hop-off. Also the Metro is right there. Great shopping, a lot of sales. Center of Gothic Quarter. Architecture is so beautiful.
Hotel can provide you with small discount on that attraction. Also, you can purchase the tickets on Flamenco from the Hotel staff (with small discount). Close by (15 min nice walk). Real show, you don't want to miss. Just don't go for show with dinner there, too expensive for this dinner. Just show. It's incredible. For breakfast you can have nice Croissant with coffee or Sandwich with coffee for 2 Euro in coffeeshop just 10 meter right from the hotel. We used also Hotel's patio and pool. Nice, quiet, pleasant. Staff in hotel is very polite, welcome and helpful. Room is comfortable, clean. Great choice for accommodation in Barcelona.

Yes, there are several convenience stores
AeroBus runs directly from the city to both terminals. Bus T 1 is for terminal 1. T2 for terminal 2. Bus stop to hotel is a short walk, about 3-4 blocks
We have been twice in early October and the pool and the adjoining terrace were open both times although we did not actually use the pool itself on either occasion.
Our room had no balcony or terrace which was not a problem as we spent most of the day sightseeing. Just be aware that the pool entry steps are very slippery and there is no handrail. My wife slipped and injured her lower back which i referred to in a review i posted. The director of the hotel thanked me for my time taken to write the review but failed to mention the accident or even enquire as to my wife's current condition. Poor example of customer relations which was the only downside of an otherwise enjoyable stay.

As you can see on the map, It is close to Plaza Catalunya (you can find there Hop on Hop Off bus, but it is also an exciting shopping area).
Laietana is one of the main street of Barcelona, with the metro station. Walking Laietana you can reach the heart of the town: the Cathedral, placa St. James, where the Generalitad de Catalunya is based, la Rambla, Barceloneta beach and the area of the old harbour (where we had very good tapas).
In the opposite direction (by metro or bus) you can reach Avinguda Diagonal, another part of Barcelona you can't miss, with La Pedrera and casa Battlò by Gaudì.
Definitively, the position of NCC Montblanc is ideal to explore Barcelona in a short time and I can say that the area is safe.
