worst experience in terms of guest relations and staff attitude. Stayed at this property for overnight choices to dine in the restaurant is very less. People have I don't care attitude or no response. Timing of the restaurant is too short, we went for the dinner at 9 and they say we are closed, but when we say on display you mentioned untill 10 PM, they said it's hotels mistake not ours, as The restaurant is not part of resort. There was not even choices of room service that you can order.

Stayed for 2 weeks at Blue Horizon for a first time to Barbados holiday and to take in the T20 cricket. We had a nice room on the 4th floor with a balcony overlooking the beach. The room furniture was a little tired, but the bed was comfy, there was always hot water for the shower and the room and hotel were very clean (room cleaning service was offered every day). Continental breakfast was fresh and varied as to what fruit and pastries you were offered each day. The waitresses were all friendly and polite. We didn't eat any other meals at the hotel, and the bar did not seem to open later in the evening (although we did not have to pass the bar to get to our room so didn't see it late at night and there was a curfew in place in Barbados so most bars were closing or closed at 10.30pm). The hotel is really well placed for enjoying the coastline of Barbados. The beach is right across the road, with the Tikki beach bar (watched the sunset from here most teatimes) and other small beach hut bars for drinks, cocktails and meals. Also look out for the cars that pull onto the car park behind the beach with trays of local home cooked food for sale at lunchtime. The road is busy-ish, but in a local not fast way and the Barbadians are incredibly polite and will stop to let you cross. There are local buses, and the 'regae regae' buses which you can just hop on and off if you want to explore in either direction. We like to walk, so walked to Bridgetown for the cricket, took about an hour with some of it being on the beachside boardwalk and to Oistins Fish Market, about 1hr 30 mins. There are a lot of good restaurants within 10 mins walk from Blue Horizon, all beach front, though we had to book some, maybe because of Covid. We enjoyed Champers restaurant, lovely food and setting and one of the top restaurants on the Island; Naru, Asian fusion style food which was delicious; Tapas, nice food mainly Italian and seafood : Babydoll, again right on the boardwalk, fabulous breakfasts, pizzas and fresh original food and drinks; Backyard, Jamaican themed tasty food. We also called at Jakes bar which was about 20 mins walk towards Bridgetown for good burgers and a good atmosphere. St Lawrence gap had lots of restaurants and busier bars and was about 30mins walk, but we preferred Worthing square for local entertainment and atmosphere (5mins left out of the hotel). Basically like a small car park area with a different band or singer on 3 or 4 nights a week, trucks with really tasty local food, and a Mount Gay Rum truck (buy a bottle of Rum, a bottle of diet coke and pour your own!). We didn't use the pool at the hotel as we preferred the view on the beach, but it was very clean.

The Hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. We had a normal standard room on the 3rd floor, unfortunately no elevator, but ok. The oriental breakfast is included, if you want some special just order more - very good, but you have to pay, it is definitely worth it. The Hotel is located on the south west on the island, very close to good restaurants and the beautiful Rockley Beach. do not expect any luxury, it is just a very good normal hotel, which is very good to stay, we would come again.

Would you believe I asked to have the room mopped at Blue Horizon hotel atleast once because of the dust under my feet and was told I have to mop it my self . I asked for management for them to tell me this also. I asked why staff can't come in and mop in they protective gear ,they said it was not allowed by the ministry. But I said I spoke and paid the same staff at checking in, in their protective gear , the bellman walk next to me in his mask and the young lady being breakfast in hermask. But the can't clean room in their mask. I asked to be transfer to another room have this one clean and I return, or stay on the new room as the hotel has spare rooms , or go on balcony and closed door so that they can mop. Was told they advise guests that they can provide a broom , dust pan and mop. I asked if they would tell a visiting foreigner to mop their room if they complain of all thus dust inside . She has not answer. On checking I realized it's only locals who are told to clean they room.. Not paying $85 USD for a room and $15 USD if you want breakfast and still have no clean rooms. Was told it's not their policy I have asked for management, told her I would place this on Facebook its madness . Called Marriotts and they said if guest aren’t satisfied with a room they have change room policy in place . As we speak chat I'm awaiting a transfer, but im placing this on Facebook . The video here

We stayed here at the end of February/March. There was a large group of young people who were part of some Judo teams from Guadeloupe and Bermuda ranging from quite young children to late teens. The judo teams seemed to be supervised by their parents who weren’t very aware of the needs of other guests staying at the hotel. This made breakfast very busy and they took over the pool area in the late afternoon and made it very unpleasant for anyone else who was trying to enjoy the pool as they were very noisy and boisterous, jumping in the pool and splashing anyone in the vicinity.

Unfortunately this made the atmosphere of the hotel very unpleasant. Breakfast was chaotic, the staff were hopeless at setting up the tables after any one had left. The breakfast itself is very basic - 2 types of cake, cereal, toast and apples and bananas which wouldn’t have been too bad but unfortunately the waiting staff were truly terrible. The service was incredibly bad. Surely bringing tea/ coffee, juice, and toast can’t be that difficult to organise but it seemed impossible for any member of staff to remember to bring everything together within a reasonable time frame.

Our room was very basic, the shower was awful, very little hot water and a really unattractive decor.

On a good note the managers rum punch party on the Thursday evening was actually very pleasant and the food supplied was very nice. The staff joined in and created a nice atmosphere.

It’s a shame that some areas of the hotel let it down so much, as it has the potential to be be a really nice hotel.

Altogether our stay was unpleasant and we will definitely not be back.

We spent two glorious weeks at the Hilton Resort Barbados (glowing review to follow).
Our departure flight was delayed until the following morning so American Airlines put us up at the Blue Horizon and to be truthfully honest, I would have rather slept at the airport it was that bad!
We are a family of four with two young boys, check-in terribly slow and unprofessional, MOSQUITO CITY!
The lady who checked us in yelled ‘there is no breakfast for you in the morning as AA forgot to provide vouchers’ no compassion or alternative whatsoever.
Finally checked in at 8.30pm to be placed on the 5th floor with all our luggage & no elevator!
Headed back down to the lobby at 9.05pm to be told ‘Sorry, dinner finishes at 9pm’ we practically pleaded with them as our children had not eaten since 1pm due to the delay. The server was very rude at best, disappeared into the kitchen for a good 10min and reappeared ‘We can cook you pork and chips’ and with no alternative we went ahead with the order.
My children ate their meal, see pic attached which they charged us the costly sum of $55 per child (1 dry pork chop, frozen veg & chips) Only providing the menu when we questioned the price!
The hotel room was in a terrible state of repair, the remote control for the air con unit had flat batteries and the room was stifling hot, the telephone didn’t work which resulted in several trips down five flights of external stairs in 30* heat, all took a cold shower as zero hot water in the bathroom, bedding was a joke .. one thin towel type blanket and one thin pillow each, finally no curtains covering the huge triangular section of the patio doors to the ceiling, daylight streaming in at 6am!
A fridge and very dirty electric kettle (no coffee machine or condiments). What little furniture the room had was very tatty and dirty.
If I would have left zero feedback if it was possible ...
Stay away, spend your money elsewhere !!!

I have had to stay here due to covid isolation and the company booked this property.
I have got a room on the 4th floor no elevator so I had to carry all my belongings up.
The room was noisy, definitely needed improvements in regards to cleaning +++ and maintenance.
Ordered breakfast at 7 am arrived 45 minutes later,to have my Cereals with a fork.
Staff members lazy and rude.
Requested the receptionist to have the shower checked as I didn't have hot water nor as a good water pressure clean towels and my room floor to be cleaned because as soon as i stepped on the floor my feet were black from the dust, bath without a plug and.She said she will send someone to check the bath and I will have to mop up the room if I want it clean.
A few hours later a guy came, wasn't bothered at all to fix the problem. And guess what after I have eaten my Cereals with a fork at midday a spoon arrived.
Disappointed as how I was treated and the lack of management.
Would not recommend this place.

Room was good, comfy beds and pillows. Fridge in the room and a kettle. Hairdyrer worked great too. My only negative was the staff in the restaurant. We were quite a big party, but half of us decided to go daily to the Rostrevor in the Gap as they served drinks and food all day. The restaurant staff would have made a fortune with our friends as they drink beer all day, but they really weren't very big on customer service. and they are so slow, every day I had to ask again for milk with the tea. No big deal, but come on.... remember the order. Breakfast seemed to be hit and miss sometimes you had pastries and croissants, other times just toast. I know we have a problem with covid too, but the jam and butter all served in little plastic pots. I did wonder if they were washed and re-used or just binned daily (which would be a shame if that was the case) Good stay enjoyed it but it could have been fantastic. No-one was ever round the pool but I guess with them not serving drinks etc.. everyone went out onto the beach and got drinks and snacks down there.

The hotel is situated two minutes walk to the beach opposite. It is very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. We requested quiet rooms and we were glad that we did as the road can be noisy. The average size rooms all have balconies and very comfortable beds with great blackout blinds. The website states tea and coffee facilities in each room. There is a kettle and crockery but no tea or coffee sachets are provided.
We ate the complimentary continental breakfast each morning. This was variable and disappointing. The staff didn't seem to notice when supplies needed replenishing. I have never seen fruit sliced so thinly. The coffee was ok in the first week but went seriously downhill thereafter. It was very weak, often cold and undrinkable even though this was mentioned to staff. When ordering from the breakfast menu, food was very slow to arrive and portions were small. This is unacceptable as we were paying for these items.
We ate dinner at the hotel several times and were pleasantly surprised, however there were often items unavailable from the fairly limited choices on the menu. The meals we had were served in an acceptable timescale, were hot and very tasty.
