The Sohotel receives accolades for its cleanliness and charming atmosphere, with many guests appreciating the stylish rooms adorned with exposed brick. While praised for its prime location near bustling neighborhoods and transit, some visitors have raised concerns over noise from heating systems and external sources. The staff's friendliness and helpfulness stand out, despite mixed feedback regarding the value due to dated amenities and the absence of features like elevators. Reviewers often highlight both the cozy ambiance and the convenience of the hotel's location.

Our family of 5 enjoyed nearly a week at Sohotel and we look forward to staying here again the next time we come back to NYC. The hotel is in a great location in lower Manhattan. They provide a great value in that can accommodate 5 grown people in one room - something that usually requires a large suite or two rooms in a hotel, or a larger place in an AirBNB. The hotel is a walk-up. Reception is on the second floor, and there is no elevator, so youi will need to carry your bags up stairs to get to reception and your room. The vibe of the hotel is great with the furniture in the lower lobby and throughout the floors. The staff was very nice. We arrived around 12:30 in the afternoon hoping to store our bags and explore the local neighborhood, and they were able to check us into our room early, which was a bonus. The room we had was clean, as was the bathroom. While not used, they provided full sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower.

Thank you SoHotel for the great experience. I upgraded to the nicer room on the 4th floor with two queen beds for just $30 a night more and was allowed to check in a few hours early after a long ten hour flight. It really made a difference. I had the friendliest service from the front desk offering me money saving tips. Great experience overall.

We stayed one night in the Sohotel at the end of our trip to New York and New England. I wish we had stayed longer. The location - right on the border of Soho, Noho, Nolita, Chinatown and the Lower East side is excellent. The hotel is stylish without being annoyingly funky or sacrificing comfort for style and while retaining the heritage feeling of the building. The service is great with staff who ask questions that indicate they are actually interested in hearing what you are planning to do during your stay. There are no elevators and a lot of stairs so if you have mobility issues this may not be the hotel for you. Also while there are restaurants in the same building affiliated to the hotel there is no hotel restaurant or hotel room service as such - but given the location there are excellent interesting food places all around and the hotel provides a guide of some you might want to try. I would definitely stay at Sohotel again.

This little hotel hotel has great service, great location for a good price in NYC. The staff is super helpful and kind, always willing to help. Wifi works perfectly. There are no breakfast options but you can find complementary coffee, tea, hot chocolate in the lobby during most of the day/night. There are also a couple of vending machines for a quick snack, and you can find great breakfast options close by. Downside there is no elevator but don’t worry about your bags, the staff will bring them to your room. Rooms are veeery small, so don’t plan on bringing a bunch of bags, still you can manage (we were a group of 5 adults with 5 big bags all in the same room and we still fit, a little crowded but manageable) beds are very confortable, and the bathroom i ok in size, very nice and clean. Overall a wonderful stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff that helped us with luggage at check in and check out. You’re able to store luggage before and after your stay so you can explore the city as much as possible. Staff helped us use the subway and get around the city. Beds were super comfy and room had a refrigerator. Shower had body wash, shampoo and conditioner dispensers, which is a really nice feature. Morning coffee in the lobby was a nice touch! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others!

Opted to stay at Sohotel as it is one of the few hotels in NY that offers twin rooms as standard - and Sohotel did not disappoint. The hotel was spotless and in a great location: loved escaping the mayhem of Times Square to return to a quieter neighbourhood with great restaurants and bars (Fiat Cafe was my favourite). Really appreciated the cheerful greeting we received each morning from the hotel attendant and his tips on the weather and places to go. Would definitely stay again.

Pros: Very cute and quirky hotel. The staff was very friendly. I thought the room was spacious compared to other NYC hotels I’ve stayed in. I was concerned about managing 5 suitcases in a NYC hotel, but our room had 4 industrial shelves that worked perfectly to store our open suitcases without taking up any floor space. The hotel and room were exactly as pictured on the website. If you would like housekeeping services, you have to request it. I actually prefer this and hope this becomes a permanent thing post-covid. They did a great job when we requested it and also promptly took care of a maintenance issue. It was very nice to have 3 beds for our family of 5. There is no shortage of restaurants since Little Italy, Chinatown, and Soho are all a short walk from the hotel.

Cons: The complimentary coffee service is discontinued due to covid. This was kind of a big deal for our coffee-dependent family since it added another $25+ to each day. I think it is a bit of a stretch to say the hotel is in Soho since it is definitely not on cobblestone streets, surrounded by trendy boutiques and restaurants. We had no view at all from our 2nd floor room, facing north. I don’t know if other rooms had a good view though. Since there is a bar in the hotel, I’m not sure when/if the door to the hotel is ever locked. There was often no employees in sight, so it seemed that anyone could wander in at any time.

Overall, we were very happy with the hotel and would consider staying here again.

My family of five have stayed at this location several times. It was nice to find a place that had enough beds and room for three teenagers and two adults for a fair price. Our stay at Sohotel has always been easy and enjoyable with clean rooms, stylishly decorated, walkable to many popular areas, and close to the subway. Love the neighbourhood!

No. There is no rooftop. There are several cocktail bars and restauturant in the block but they are all at street level. There's a bar on a rooftop a few blacks away, but we haven’t been there.

As noted by another traveler, there is complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby near reception. Self-serve. There are literally thousands of places to eat in Manhattan, formal and informal: street vendors, markets, coffee shops, restaurants. And of innumerable ethnicities.

Never had breakfast at the hotel, however, there was this farmhouse feel of the breakfast place call The Butcher's Daughter just one block over. Had I tried it earlier I would have gone every day and sampled the whole menu!
