Great location with subway station at end of block, easy walking distance to numerous attractions, shopping and restaurants. The hotel staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Our room was clean however it was looking a little tired in comparison to the refurbished lobby and restaurant. We did have to ask for our bedding to be changed rather than just the bed being made as our stay was for over a week and this request was actioned immediately. A coffee machine in the room would have been a good feature so you could have a drink before going downstairs for breakfast.
Do not use the car service set up by the hotel as the cost was much higher than the hotel quoted. We used this service twice as we were assured the first occasion was down to 'miscommunication' however the same driver charged more yet again on our journey to the airport to leave for the U.K. Unfortunately this ended our fantastic trip on a sour note!

We couldn't be happier with the hotel staff at this hotel. And although the rooms were very close together, we could barely hear next door, which made for a restful stay. The location is in "Curry Hill" and away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas, and thus centrally located if you wanted to head uptown or downtown. These attributes helped make up for the tiny room and rusty sink/vanity area. Also I am particularly unhappy with the Hyatt redemption - despite 30,000 points, I had still paid $500 for 3 nights - crazy! The Sweet Briar restaurant on premise (but not run by the hotel) is convenient, but not terribly kid-friendly. Avoid the breakfast butler/room service at all costs. Our breakfast of pancakes and avocado toast arrived with no utensils, no syrup for the pancakes and 1 hour and 18 minutes after ordering. Also given there is no room for a table to eat on, that just added salt to the wound. Not sure we would stay again, if not the for exceptional hotel staff!

The Park South Hotel is a wonderful little hotel just off of Park Ave. in Manhattan. There are so many hotels in NYC I am glad I found this one. A “brisk” walk to Union Square or Macy’s, The Park South Hotel is on a quiet street but accessible to shopping on all the sights.

I stayed at this hotel for over a week for a touristic trip first time in NYC. The hotel location was ideal, within walking distance to most landmarks and with a subway station a literal 30 second walk away. The rooms were reasonably sized, clean and there was housekeeping every day and replenishing off toiletries. The staff at the front desk were always very polite, friendly and kind. They have an online whatsapp system to contact which is very useful - I needed extra towels and they sent them up within 5 minutes of my request.
The doormen both Chuck and Chris were lovely and very friendly and offered great advice - they even organised my transport to the airport at the end of my stay and helped me with my luggage.
The hotel itself is very close to a great pizza place, a great bagel place and an amazing coffee cafe (787 coffee), and the locals to the area were friendly. There is also a nearby convenience store that is open late.
I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

I have visited NYC before and stayed close to Madison Square Gardens. I wanted to experience staying in a different location and this hotel didn’t disappoint. It was the perfect location for getting up and downtown and was lovely to come back to somewhere away from the crowds of people, bright lights and noise. The staff were really helpful and didn’t come across like they expected tips unlike other hotels I’ve stayed at before, making you want to tip them. I loved the reception areas. There were comfy seats by a fire and large tables for us to sit and eat our bagels from the bagel shop next door. Bagel shop icing on the cake and could even make a decent cuppa. There’s also a McDonald’s close by. EPSB, time square and MSG all within easy walking distance as are subways. We only drank at hotel on first night and my son ate there once but both experiences were great. There was fresh water in reception every day and bottled water available for your rooms and if heading out for the day which was a massive positive for me especially when some places were charging 7usd per bottle. The original room we were in was a little small for 3 people with lots of luggage, could have made it work but asked if anything else available and we were moved to a larger room free of charge. The room wasn’t available until later in the day but they took care of everything for us so we didn’t have to waste our day. Beds very comfortable! Can’t imagine anyone wouldn’t be happy here.

I booked my son & his friend into this hotel in June as he was in NYC to celebrate his 21st birthday and attend an event at Madison Sq Gardens.
In advance of them arriving I was in touch with the hotel & Rachel from the customer support team was such a helpful attentive individual, assisting me with having everything paid for in advance of my son checking in to ensure he had no issues. My son said the hotel was so clean and the staff very friendly, they even decorated his bedroom door and left him a sweet gift and birthday card which was such a lovely gesture. He was a 20 min walk to Times Sq and Madison Sq Gardens. He loved the rooftop bar with the guest private lift access from the hotel. On his birthday I arranged with a local cake supplier to deliver a cake to the hotel and the staff ensured this was placed in his room to return back to. They also provided a box for him to bring the cake back home - Yes he never ate it all whilst he was there!!! The hotel staff gave me piece of mind that he was safe and in good hands whilst travelling abroad and I cannot thank them enough. My son has said they were all brilliant, room was very clean and comfortable and he would definitely be looking at booking this hotel should he visit NYC again. Massive THANK YOU to all the staff at the Park South Hotel for making his trip so memorable! You are a credit to this hotel.

We have been coming to Park South since 2012 because it was the closest, most affordable location to be near our daughter who was having her first baby. Those are not the only reasons we have continued to come back. When the pandemic hit among all the serious concerns for everyone's health, we were concerned for our Park South family. I emailed my concerns and hoped all would be safe. We have been waiting to visit our daughter for 17 months, like everyone. This hotel is located in the perfect area - right by the 28th street subway station that can take you anywhere in minutes. The hotel staff was very helpful, kind and caring. The rooms are small but clean and well taken care of. I was provided a kettle upon request. The internet was fast and reliable and I had no issue working from my room. The food options around the hotel are awesome and you can find anything you want to eat within minutes. There's a CVS and a Walgreens conveniently located so you can buy water and snacks there as well. The staff at the hotel made my stay the highlight as they checked in on me and made sure I was comfortable. 10/10

The rooms in this hotel are small but completely usable, and the staff is extremely friendly, quick, and helpful. I stayed there because it's within a block of the workplace I was visiting, and I was very pleased with the experience. I'll definitely stay there again.

As someone who lived in NYC for four years, I don't see a need to stay at this hotel. First, the location isn't ideal. You really only have the 6 train nearby, and the area itself is very quiet. There's not much in terms of food/drink anywhere. The 'JDV' brand is supposed to specialize it making you feel like your a local at Park Ave, and personally I felt this to be missing. It was quite mundane. There was nothing about the hotel that stands out. Nothing memorable. I feel you can stay at a considerable amount of other hotels in the area and get a much better experience, and you'll likely pay less. Also, I stayed at other 'JDV's,' such as the one in Chinatown at 50 Bowery. They do an exceptional job there. As for Hyatt, the Herald Square Hyatt around the corner is considerably better. I would avoid this hotel. No frills.

There are taxes, ours were included in the cost when we booked the hotel through the travel booking website so there was nothing to pay at check out
Our room did not have a refrigerator. You might ask the hotel if they do have rooms with fridges or if they could provide one. The staff is great to work with.
Sorry, I'm not a coffee or tea drinker and didn't notice if there was a kettle or coffee maker.
I checked my last bill from 12/2022, and there is a destination fee, a state tax and a city tax. All total it was approximately $28 per night. This might vary based on room type and room rate. Hope this helps.
