Everything was great here. Just completing a 3 week trip with many different hotels across Nova Scotia and PEI . This was the most welcoming place I've ever stayed at on any trip. Very clean, excellent service, lots of variety and always some good homemade bakery. We're completing the last part of our trip and weather is wet and rainy. We wish we were back at there. Movies, books, games available. They also have a hot tub. One night we came back late and they had put together the fabulous chocolate chip cookies they baked for us. We stayed in the 2 bedroom 2 bath suite, really nice to have a microwave, fridge, table, and plates, cutlery, etc which they happily replaced when used. Excellent location and you can walk to the Green Gables heritage centre in 4 minutes. Kindred Spirits staff all excellent and really provided professionsl hotel experience with truly personalized and caring service. We stayed in Charlottetown after and realized now that we should have just stayed there the entire time. Much nicer and easy to get all over PEI from there.

My wife and I had done a cycle tour in Cape Breton prior to arriving at our final destination of the north shore on PEI. We stayed in the Carriage House, and had a spacious King bed room with a huge bath. There were 2 suitcase caddies. There was available daily linen service. Daily breakfast was a reserved time slot as the seating area was limited to about 25 people, and was good w/good sized portions. The Jacuzzi was open during 9AM-sundown. There was available laundry room w/drier and supplied laundry powder detergent. The washers were $2.00 coin. We had 2 excellent dinners in North Rustico which was about 10min away, These spots were next to each other and were the Blue Mussel Cafe and On the Dock. Both were very busy and we got in the Blue Mussel using a "reservation" wait list on their web site. All staff were friendly and took care of issues immediately. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Kindred Spirits Inn for 2 days. The room was clean and the staff were all friendly. We we’re very happy to realize a hot breakfast was included in the price of the room. It was served in the dining room with several delicious options including, pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs, and bacon. The Inn had a pool and hot tub. It was nice to sit in the hot tub after a day of touring the area. The inn is a very short drive from the Cavendish beach, where you can spend a nice day lounging. The grounds are beautifully maintained with a playground for children and a fire pit for the evenings. This is a lovely place for any traveller looking for a quiet place to rest on vacation.

My wife and I stayed at Kindred Spirits 15 years ago for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was such a fabulous place to stay then that when we decided to go back to Cavendish on August 29th we never considered any other place. When I called and made the reservation I told them why we were returning and I booked a room. When we arrived we were told that we were being given an upgrade on our room and a corked bottle of Apple peach juice was waiting in our room. I'm not sure that I would look anywhere else to stay should we return to Cavendish again. It's quiet, clean and the breakfasts are very good.

The rooms look updated but that is only for aesthetics. There is no sound prodding in the rooms at all which made it very hard to sleep. You could hear people walking upstairs and dropping stuff on the floor, you could hear them walking up and down the stairs and even hear people outside. We did mention this to the staff that it was impossible to sleep so they moved us to a different room. The new room wasn’t any quieter, plus it was a down grade too, a smaller room without a kitchenette or larger tub like our first room had. We were advised we would be refunded for the price difference between the rooms but it was only a $60 difference. Both of the rooms we were in the AC filter was dirty and the first room wasn’t very clean with dirt all over the room and hair on the bathroom floor.
The positive sides of the stay was the friendly staff and the delicious breakfast. The staff gave us a gift basket when they heard we were having difficulty with the room conditions. Breakfast was pretty good, more variety would be nice such as healthier options like an omelette. It was mostly breads, cakes, muffins, and waffles for breakfast options.
Overall our experience would have been better with a proper nights sleep. We will not be coming back here for that reason. In addition to that the rooms a pretty overpriced for the condition of them.

Loved our stay at Kindred Spirits in Cavendish. Very pretty property with well-maintained grounds. Many of the other cottage properties nearby seemed run-down but Kindred Spirits was clearly well looked after. Pool was heated and hot tub delightful. Loved the baked goods in the lobby of the inn. The location is tucked away off the main road and is about a 15 minute walk to Cavendish Beach, across the main road and down a lane alongside a golf course. Cavendish is much more built up than I had imagined, with multiple theme park-like places. Kindred Spirits is a cute spot among the kitsch. Would definitely stay there again.

We had the pleasure of staying here in July 2021. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating, ensuring you know everything about the facility and the area. We had a minor issue with a smell in the fridge in our room, but once we reported it, the staff came and replaced the fridge within 15 minutes. We were very impressed by the responsiveness of the staff. And to our surprise, the next morning at breakfast the front desk manager brought us coupons for a popular ice cream chain on the island, again offering apologies for the inconvenience we experienced, no matter how short it was. The room was as if it was newly decorated, and very comfortable for our stay of 4 nights. We also took advantage of the PEI Stay & Play promotion where we received a $100 gift card for each 2 nights - this allowed us to sample various island food and gift establishments courtesy of the PEI government. The location is excellent for day trips because it is very central. We will definitely stay here again upon returning to the island in the future. Thank you!

Getting my child to bed at 9 pm, the upstairs suddenly came alive, with the motor for jets in their tub for 30 mins and stomping about loud as can be above our room - no sleeping for the kid (or me, for a number of hours), and really no soundproofing in a 4-star setting. I want to love this place but for $50 more per night extra for a mini fridge, very expensive, considering breakfast is basic scrambled eggs or pancakes with sugar syrup. For $1400 for 5 nights, I'll reconsider next time. Kid is still awake.

Kindred Spirits is lovely. I stayed in a very generous size King room with a deck, microwave, fridge, sofa. It was very clean and had a large bathroom; very tidy rooms and quiet location. Pool, hot tub, bonfire pit, right next to the Anne Green Gables Heritage Sight. Excellent central location to drive west on the island and east on the island (1.5 hours each direction max). 30 minutes to Charlottetown. Loved the fresh baked cookies (deeeeelicious) and tea in the evening, morning coffee, the breakfast was lovely, 3 choices and lots of extras. Monica, our server, brightened every morning with her friendly smile and great PEI local tips to visit. I am not sure we would have ended up the Preserves shop without her recommendation. The housekeeping staff was also very lovely - asking every day if we needed anything. Already looking forward to next year.

I’m not sure if I’m missing somewhere else or not but out of all of my Cavendish places this has become my favourite to stay at and I no longer look. This time took the entire family. We stayed in a 2 bed room cottage with a hot tub on the back deck. Veranda on the front. The hot tub gets treated everyday. Easy and efficient towel replacement and garbage service for the cottages. We had beautiful weather which helps the review of course. Staff is good and friendly. Games like washer toss and stuff available, just ask them. Beautifully kept grounds. Nice pool and hot tub on site, playground on site. Laundromat on site. Great for long term stays in PEI and really central to Charlottetown and Summerside too (25-30 min drive). BBQ at each cottage ready to go for use. Full kitchen, jetted tub in our unit. All the comforts to give you a great home base. Kids LOVED the place and so did we. Book several months in advance.
Not worth taking a star away, but it seems the nice breakfast requires reservations and is only available to main house guests and not cottage people. I didn’t agree with that since cottage guests are paying quite a bit, but again not worth saying it’s not an excellent place. Maybe I misunderstood your staff but what’s the difference where the guest is on the property? I don’t even mean free breakfast we would have paid too!

Hi Anthony! Thank you for your praise and your lovely review. We are so glad that you continue to enjoy staying with us. WIth regards to breakfast, we switched to reservations for breakfast during the last few years of COVID to manage the amount of people in our dining area as it has limited seating. We kept that in place this year as we know some of our guests still are a touch uncomfortable with public places. Our rooms have no, or very limited, kitchen facilities. Because of this we include breakfast in their rates and those guests get first access to our breakfast. Our cottages have full kitchens and are completely self-catering. If our rooms are not fully booked we do offer guests in our cottages to purchase breakfast. This current season has be extremely busy and we haven't been able to do that very often (as was the case when you were staying with us). Again, we truly appreciate your business and your review. Hi! All of our rooms have bathtubs and showers. In most rooms this is a combined bathtub/shower. If the room description includes Corner Jacuzzi then there will be a walk-in shower and a large, separate jetted tub.
