It is a nice hotel with very friendly staff. The only thing that could be better is the housekeeping. In the early morning the housekeepers came into the room even when we put the 'do not disturb' sign on the door. We were hoping that we could have a good sleep. We did not expect to be woken up so early in the morning when our intention of booking a staycation is to relax and to wake up naturally. This is very unprofessional of them.

I know, the rating might look harsh but is based on a personal bad experience.
Despite notifying the hotel that we will checkin late and getting the acknowledgment from the hotel, we were surprised on our visit.
When I tried to checkin, the staff on the reception told me that they are full. I was angry as I travelled all the way and reached the hotel at 10pm to hear that the hotel is full. Then what was the point of advanced booking almost 2 months ago?
We were not alone, there 3 more couples facing the same issue. They said that they are overbooked due to other third party providers.
Well, we had no other option left but we waited as they offered to provide an alternate hotel for a night. They booked a taxi and booked the NH hotel room which was 20 minutes away from this hotel via taxi. Without any doubt, NH hotel was a great hotel with excellent breakfast. We reached the hotel at 3AM and had to check out at 11am in the morning.
The point is, the replacement was nice however alot of valuable time was lost and also we could not rest properly due to which we were tired the next day. I had a tour planned in the morning at 11am which ofcourse missed out due to this situation. There is no compensation for the time.
When we. checkedin the next morning, ofcourse they apologised but I did not had much energy to complain more and did not want to spoil my remaining vacation days. As a compensation, they gave us a voucher for 2 free drinks. When we were checking out, the manager personally offered a discount if I would visit again with the best possible services.
Now, coming to the hotel, the room was super clean and beautiful. the location was not too far from the center. The breakfast was also nice. If there was no problem during the checkin, the stay would have been perfect at the hotel.
So, the people who are reading this review and willing to book this hotel, double check and let them know to keep your room available to avoid inconvenience.

Had booked a room for a night again. This is one of my favorite hotels. It is mostly available for my rate, clean en prompt. I always get a nice room with view on the Ij water or an upgrade to a side room with larger space. Very nice. Check in was smooth and swift. In the evening I asked for a possible late check out. As an IHG member it is free of charge when there is availability. I noticed that for the second time,. staff started directly to explain the costst of a late check out instead of first looking into the reservation and to see if someone might be an IHG member. This has to do with recognizing our IHG members as valued guests. So I hope the FO team will start to first look into the resa before starting to explain the costs. Other from this I got the late check out and that was appreciated. In the morning I was too late for bfst. My own fault:) But...check out was again nice. The lady even saw that I was charged a bit too much and she politley asked if she could refund the amount. It was a few euro's but still...very attentive. All in all a good stay again and here and there a little space for improvements, but highly recommending this property! Till we meet again soon I hope:)

Great hotel with great location. Meet a fantastic dinning roon server Irene who really made our stay there great. Always checking on us and helping us make our local plans. Very good food and the entire staff was great.

This is the best 3 star hotel that I had stayed in. It is about 10 minutes walking from the ferry that is free of charge and reaches Central Station and the city center. I have stayed on the 9th floor and the city view from there was amazing. The room was spacious, very clean and had all the amenities. The cleaning was done every day and the towels were changed every 2 days automatically or if you left the towel on the bathroom floor, that was changed daily. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was very spacious and gave you a sense of luxury. The beds were very comfortable. The heating in the room was ok, it worked as expected. The breakfast was very good and with enough choices to eat a healthy meal. The salami, prosciutto, dairy and the coffee were good quality products. The staff was very friendly and all of them spoke perfect english. I will definitely return to this hotel.

Our experience was terrible, I would not recommend it. It all started with us having to wait for 20m for someone to show up to do the check-in as it was past 11 pm, then we were asked to pay for the room and taxes which we had already paid for via booking. Exhausted from our trip and arguing with the staff all we wanted was to sleep and rest, however, the surprises weren't over - when we open the bed the state we found it was not acceptable with plenty of hair left behind, small pieces of paper and dry blood on the pillowcase. We called reception and asked to switch rooms to which we were informed it wasn't possible as they were fully booked. Changing the linens wasn't available either as at that time there weren't any cleaning staff present. 10 minutes later the reception guy knocked at our door with a magically found available room that he could give us. We then went to check and it was our surprise to find this one in even worse condition with clipped nails and even more hair, so we decided to keep the original. It was absolutely disgusting, I couldn't even sleep properly and had to lay over my scarf. Luckily we were only staying one night and the next morning we made sure to present a formal complaint to the morning staff. After a lot of arguing and long waits, they offered us a 20% refund which does not even start to cover the full experience. DO NOT GO!

Hotel was clean throughout. The room itself was fine, beds and pillows were comfy.
We reserved a 'city view' room. This implies it would be a central city view. This is not what we got. We had a view of residential housing.
There was no mention of 'tourist tax' at the time of booking (via easyJet). This was nearly 40 euros. Paying tax on top of a room you've already paid for is shocking.
The shower pressure wasn't great. If you position the showerhead slightly to the right, water goes onto the bathroom floor. Towels are also small (take your own if you like a large one).
The restaurant wasn't the best. We had ordered two pizzas and waited around 45mins for them. Two couples came in after us, ordered the same thing and had left before we got ours. The waiter eventually noticed us, and said & "two pizzas" to his colleague.
It was around 5mins after that our pizzas finally came out, greasy and underwhelming. The waiter was full of apologies.
Breakfast was okay. Although the queuing system is non-existent and the people within the restaurant were rude & pushy at best.
I would happily visit Amsterdam again... just not this hotel.

From the pics it looks like it could be tatty and dated
BUT ITS NOT, it’s a superb hotel, great inside, great rooms, great staff, food, bar, food and breakfast.
2 mins from the free little boat across the water (100 times day, every 10 mins, free and take about 4 mins) goes to central station.
5 mins from the metro that goes to central station, costs about €1.50

The hotel is in a good location, out of city centre but a short walk to a free ferry that runs back and forth all day. Handy supermarket next door. Rooms were clean, modern and functional, bathroom was small but again served it’s purpose. The hotel lobby is bright and airy with the bar area, again modern and spacious. The breakfast area lets the hotel down as really not big enough for a large hotel. The breakfast was usual toast, breads, egg, meats, cheeses, fruit, cereals, yoghurt etc.. all looked nice and fresh, just needs to be a bigger space. We had pre booked to go to keukenhoff tulip fields and decided to get a taxi booked through the hotel, we wanted a one way trip as we were planning on going into the city centre from there, the taxi driver quite frankly ripped us off by first saying it was not on the metre but then not knowing how much he would charge, then it was on the metre and telling us we had to have a return trip as there was no public transport etc etc….. this was not true, be wary of taxi booked through the hotel and get a fixed price before you get in, we stupidly didn’t. That was the only blight on our stay at this hotel. Would stay again but wouldn’t use the hotel taxi service!

I booked 5 rooms for 3 nights at this hotel for a family trip. We are a family that takes the public transportation and like to walk a lot so the fact that it was across the river from the Central station was no big deal. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the closest station. There is also a ferry but we never took that. We got to the hotel early, around 10am and asked if they would store our luggage but our rooms were ready so they checked us in early! The hotel breakfast was very good despite being very busy every morning, especially since it was included. There is also a grocery store across the parking lot that has a wonderful selection of fresh ready to eat foods you can buy and sit in their cafe at a very reasonable price so one day we did that for lunch. There is a restaurant and bar on site.. We ate dinner one night and found the food and drinks to be pretty good. We would stay here again.
