The room was clean, the bathroom was spacious, the owners are friendly and hard working. The bed was comforting with plenty of pillows. The o ly issue I found was the receptacle next to my bed was loose.

My wife and I stayed 1 night, arriving before 3PM. The owner checked my identity, took the credit card payment and issued our key cards. We parked near the end stairway and carried our bags up to #208. The spacious room has a very comfortable king, desk and chair, nice TV with lots of channels, medium size refrigerator, microwave, 2 large easy chairs with ottomans and a large fully outfitted bathroom with a long counter top and a bathtub shower. The AC/heat unit works fine from under the window and the room WIFI was strong. The lobby has a sign saying breakfast is discontinued due to Covid. This old style 18 room motel is on a nicely tended property with flowered picnic/play areas but faces the constant road noise of busy Rt#1 which continued to 10 PM. But our well furnished and clean king room made for a comfortable stay for $107/night.

This is your standard basic no-frills accommodation. If you want luxury, move along. We just wanted a clean room with comfy beds and a warm shower. Having a room fridge was a nice bonus. The "special sauce" was the family running this inn. We had started the evening by checking in to a hotel down the street that was filthy, a particular concern during this era of Covid-19. We left and called this hotel instead. They instantly sympathized and accommodated us, letting us look at two rooms for cleanliness before checking in. They were immaculate and social distancing guidelines were followed to the letter. The family is dedicated to constant gradual improvements of the rooms and proud of their progress. They went out of their way to be helpful, leading us to actually stay longer than we had initially planned.

I stayed at America's best hotel value In Scarborough two times both on a weekly basis and until the last stay I was wondering if they cleaned or changed the bedding before the rooms are booked, especially with everything going on and to my surprise upon checking the sheets I found a big gash of mucus on the comforter which was absolutely disgusting and horrible to look at. It looked like somebody literally just spit or blew their nose on the blanket. I confronted hotel staff at the desk and manager. To make them aware of it and asked for accommodation or a discount because for one they failed to do their job and follow safety standards especially with the covid19 going around. I'm an essential worker and the last place I expect to get sick is from where I am sleeping but they decided to refuse to accommodate me and kicked me out before the week ended and charged me for the full stay. Absolutely disgusting and unprofessional.

It's never an easy decision to ask a guest to leave our property before their stay was meant to end, but this action is only taken when the safety of our team or other guests is in question. This facility has really fallen off since the last time I stayed. The sheets and blankets were stained and not clean, the outlets were not working, there were issues with payment. Was charged an extra 60 dollars out of nowhere because I didn’t register my guests the correct way. The owner on check out was very rude and watching me and friends closely, and accused me of associating with drug users. Will not be returning nor will any of my network of friends and family be using this facility

Disliked · We actually asked for a refund after taking a look at our room. for $98.00 this place was unacceptable. No morning breakfast, which was advertised. I asked about local places to eat dinner and he said the Mall- really? And he clarified and meant to eat at a restaurant in the mall! I just came from the pacific NW to Maine and I was not going to eat at a mall! Went into room and was so stinky. Definitely smelled like someone had been smoking in the room. The owner said he can't help it if someone smokes outside then goes in the room. I'm an ex smoker and not even anti smoking, but this was NOT residual smoke smell off someone's clothing. Plus, it was about 7PM and this room shouldn't have had anyone in there for at least several hours.

This place is an absolute dump. Fist room smelled so bad of cigarettes. Second room was filthy. Trash still in the cans from the last guest. We left, there was no way we could sleep there. Will contact hotels.com to get a refund. They need to remove this location from their site.

The room is very dirty, esp the carpet, the carpet is very sticky and smelly. I got sick because of the unhygienic. We ask to change our room. But the reception said there is no available room that they.............. Note, please look after the cleanliness of your room.

Though the room was clean, as soon as I opened the door there was an overwhelming chemical smell. I checked the bathroom and the linens and could not find it. I opened the two windows and the door and let it air out thinking it would take care of it. When I left, I left the windows opened. I returned about an hour later with my daughter and she got down on the floor and sniffed the carpet which is where the smell was coming from.
We ended up sleeping with the window open (on Rt. 1) and the smell never dissipated. Aside from the noxious fumes, every time someone flushed a toilet from above us, it sounded like there was a leak, I got up a couple of times during the night to check. There didn't seem to be a leak, but it was very loud, maybe the discharge pipe runs behind the wall. Didn't get very much sleep and I was staying there for a post-op appointment the next day.
The next morning, I noticed other rooms also had their windows open.
