It’s was a pleasure staying in this condominium. The condominium was super clean, spacious and it had great amenities such as complimentary beach towels and linens also beach cabanas and beach chairs and umbrellas for rent. The building was well maintained and clean. The beach front was amazing and clean. The best thing I loved about staying here was how quiet it was. This place is an excellent place to unwind and relax.

Booked a two bedroom unit for a surprise gift for a friend visiting my from out of state for her birthday. We had 2 couples and my dog and the place was definitely enough space. The balcony was HUGE and had a ceiling fan which I appreciated. The beach is super close and did not feel crowded at all. We also took advantage of the gas grills, which were in great shape and very clean. It was a perfect visit, definitely recommend!

Even if you dont have a front apt. the view is very nice. Just a few meters from the beach. The rooms are well equipped and clean. Modern and comfortable furniture. Kitchen also well equipped and clean. Small bathroom. This location can be recommended. Nice and helpful staff. Free parking and Wifi.
The only negative point is the light. In some rooms insufficient.

My daughter and I recently stayed at the Gulfview Manor during a trip to tour colleges in Florida. While the hotel never came up in any search I did through Expedia or Travelocity, I found it by accident when mapping directions from Ft Myers Beach to a local university. This hotel is a best kept secret! Our room (apartment actually) was beachfront with an awesome screened-in deck. The room was large, well laid-out and spotless. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the cost was fairly low compared to other local beachfront hotels. We can't wait to go back!

For the past 20 years every summer we have rented at different resorts along the gulf coast. We have never experienced such a humiliating, shameful and embarrassing treatment in front of our children, who are college students. The manager was disrespectful and made false accusations which he was later asked to apologize for. He is constantly videoing and listening to your conversation at all times. A concentration camp would have been a better experience than staying at the Gulfview Manor Resort.

Our stay at the Gulfview Manor was the worst experience ever for my family!!!!

Response from GVM_Operations, General Manager at Gulfview Manor Resort
Responded Jul 24, 2014
This a management response to "Control freak manager", "A vacation fun sucker", and "Offensive Manager". When guests check-in at the office, they are briefed on our rules regarding an 11PM noise curfew and our No Smoking policies. The rules and policies are also presented in writing to all that check-in. All guest must sign the form and agree to follow these rules. I received a phone complaint around 12:30 AM from the apartment adjacent to one of the apartments rented by this group. The complainant stated that there was loud outbursts coming from the apartment and that people were smoking on the balcony. I responded to the apartment where it was obvious a party was going on. As I knocked on the door, someone yelled "come on in". I walked through the apartment as several people were walking in off the balcony blowing out smoke. I told them that they were not allowed to smoke anywhere in the building. I also told them that they needed to break up their party because they were disturbing other guests. One the gentleman that was smoking on the balcony became somewhat irate after I re-informed them of the rules as I left their apartment. About an hour later, the same group was at the third floor lobby by the elevator continuing their party. I receive several other noise complaints. As I responded to the disturbance, I again informed them that the noise had to stop. I told one the gentlemen that if they wanted to party at night, they could do so out at the beach away from the building so as to not bother our other guests. They finally disbursed for the rest of the night. The following morning, the men of the group were setting up pop-ups right behind the building. I told them that if they planned on being out after 11PM, the would have to move the pop-ups out by the water because they would still disturb the guests being to close to the building. They chose not to move the pop-ups. Later that night around 1AM, the group was coming in off the beach having no respect or regards to anyone else. As I was going to respond to that ruckus, someone opened their door yelling at them to "quite down". Someone in the group yelled back "what did you say?". The guest again told them to quite down. The outburst continued until they where all back in their apartments. In the afternoon on the following day, the group was out at the pool. As I was walking by, I noticed that there was numerous plates of food and cups around the pool. I walked up to the fence and addressed the a couple of the women telling them that having food and beverages around the water wasn't allowed. I pointed to the sign which was about 10 feet away listing the pool rules, which are regulated by the state of Florida. After about an hour, the clerk in the office informed me that the women came in to the office and was calling me a racist. There were people out at the pool with beverages at the water, that I wasn't complaining about them. The clerk told them that it doesn't matter who you are, if your not complying with the rules, he'll let you know. As to our surveillance system, we have numerous cameras around the property for our customers safety. WE DO NOT have audio surveillance monitoring the guests. As you will read, those who chose not to follow our rules will be scrutinized and encouraged to do so. If you can't follow our rules, you will be asked to leave. We were very patient with this group regardless how they spin their negative actions.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at Gulfview Manor Resort. Was a little hestitant about staying here, due to the fact that I could only find two other reviews and that their website lacks many good pictures, but it turned out to be a great place. That is, if you're looking for a no-frills kind of place. My girlfriend and I stayed the from 05/09-05/14, and shared the hotel with probably only about 3 other parties. Lots of quiet relaxation. The hotel is located towards the southern part of the island, where the beach is very wide and much less traffic than the northern area. I would recommend the gulfview apartments, which include a screened balcony overlooking the beach, living room with pull-out couch, 2 recliners and TV, a small kitchen, bedroom, and seperate full bathroom. Only (minor) complaints--no daily maid service (extra), only towel exchange halfway through the week, and it cost $15/day to rent a cabana. Despite these, I would definetely visit Gulfview again!

We booked a two night stay in November but left after the first night. Creepy Ken as we came to call him is the manager and this guy takes video surveillance next level. The property is nice and clean but Creepy Ken made it very obvious that you are being watched every moment of the day. My wife couldn't take it any more and we left to another hotel down the beach. Not a bad place to stay if you want a "nazi germany" experience. Wish I would have read all the revues here before booking.

Let me start off by saying that my husband and I are in our 40's and own our own buisness. We don't take vacations often but we do always stay on Ft. Myers Beach for the 4th of July. (We had no children with us). Although the rooms at Gulf View Manor were clean and it was quite roomy we were not happy with the fact that the bedroom had no TV in it. There was no toilet paper and only two tiny chairs on the balcony. Very uncomfortable chairs and no table. The king size bed was a total joke! It was two twins pushed together so when you slept you would wake up falling in the crack!!! The manager watched everyone like a hawk. We felt like he was hovering over us the entire stay. He came to the pool on several occasions to make sure no one was using the room towels. Informed us that if anyone smoked you must make sure the sliding door was completely closed. When a person pulled in the parking lot the manager would run out the door and yell "Are you a guest here"? He made us and other guests very uncomfortable. People were joking at the pool when he would make his rounds "I wonder what we did now". We should have known better when it was the only place available at the beach. Now we know why it was empty. We will never stay there or recommend it to anyone. It was a terrible experience.

My husband and I have been coming to Gulfview Manor for more than 10 years. Every year the facility has had something new or updated. We come here because it's a great place to stay. It's very clean, beautiful, and most of all, safe. Ken and the staff are very professional and courteous to everyone.

We recently stayed in our favorite apartment #34, which is located on the third floor. The same days that coincided with the group that are leaving such ridiculous reviews. We were awakened by this group on their first night here around 1:30AM as they stood outside of our apartment door. They we extremely loud, with absolutely no regards to any other guests at the resort. Within a couple of minutes, I heard Ken the manager telling them to quite down. They were arguing with him saying he couldn't keep them from talking. He insisted that they return to their apartments and told them they were breaking the noise curfew. He told them that if they didn't want to follow the rules, they could leave. They finally started leaving as Ken continued to take their verbal abuse.

We also were at the pool the afternoon when most of the women and teenagers from the group had their food and drinks in and around the water. As Ken was walking by, he looked over at the pool and saw them with their food and drinks. He walked up to the pool fence and asked them to get their food and drinks out of the pool. He told them they could only have it at the tables. Someone made a smart remark. Ken pointed to the Pool Rules sign that says that food and drinks aren't allowed in the pool. He then turned and walked away.

I just can't believe how they are twisting everything around. Ken is definitely not a racist. Over 60% of his staff are Hispanic. Most of them have been there as long as Ken. It's pretty obvious that the group is doing everything the can to take make Ken into the bad guy. This is a great place to stay because of Ken enforcing the rules. Go Ken.

Great, clean rooms right on beach but its a small family owned property so you cant do anything. We had friends also staying on the beach thatcame to visit us. On check out day the owner, ken YELLED at me at check out! Said I had to pay $10 for each vehicle we had visit us PLUS $10 per person becuase he assumed they stayed there in the room! I told him he couldnt prove anything of the sort and he told me he watched us and counted the people each day!! (why dont you call me and let me know!) Instead at check out I was stuck with a charge of $50 extra for 3 cars (1 which was the same each day) and 2 extra people, even though "he counted 6". I could not believe it. I would never treat anyone like this. I feel set up that he kept tabs to rack up some money at the end instead of catching me outside or calling the room and making me aware that if I was to have someone stop in to see us, they needed a pass or whatever the situation would be! WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!

Hi Paula We were on the fifth floor with a partial ocean view and we had a lovely view of the ocean, not oceanfront but beautiful and it was a much better view of the ocean than we thought it would be. We had a wonderful time here, great staff, super clean, nice gas grills and a patio with little lights, it was magical. We highly recommend the gulfview. They have great s5aff, you can always call them with any questions.. Happy Travels! Rick and Debbie Hayward

I don't recall pets on the grounds with any vacationers so you may want to ask the office if they allow them.
