Arrived at 2.20 a.m. and was greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our room. I don’t think we got the room we’d booked and paid for as many rooms were still to be renovated after being closed off for two years. We decided not to complain as our room was clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, the staff wonderful and the breakfast good. Would recommend this hotel and would stay agai.

A slice of paradise in the midst of the busy Ubud. The rooms and beds at fantastic and comfortable. The gardens are beautifully kept and the pool is large and great temperature for swimming all day. Breakfast is very good. Staff very attentive. 10/10 would go back in a heart beat. Close to everything.

What a jewel. Off busy and popular Hanomon street, you walk back into tranquility. The trees and flowering bushes mixed with mossy statues. The rooms snd common areas are exceptionally clean. The front desk arranged wood carving lessons, a down hill bike ride and transportation to our next destination. Everything when off without difficulty. We were adult traveler and there were families also. The Pool is as wonderful as it looks.

Beautiful atmospheric place off busy Hanuman street with pool and garden and i have an amazing rice paddy view from my balcony. Interesting Balinese statues are present throughout.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is the bathroom is a bit old.

Artini 2 is like a hidden garden in the midst of the chaos of Ubud. What will leave you in awe is the buildings and landscaping of this small place. It was fantastic and made our stay there very pleasant and peaceful. We got a superior room for US $50/night net and it was well worth it. The hotel is built into a steep depression with jungle in the back and a paddy field on one side. Very quiet and green as the rooms where well back from the road. In typical Balinese style our large room had air con, and a tv, although there is nothing on the TV for our 3 year old to watch. Very clean and in good order, our only complaint was that the bathtub needed a bit more scrubbing. My wife noticed it, but I didn't (guess I'm a typical guy). Breakfast was very mediocre Western, but the look and feel of the place made up for that. One last complaint, watch out for a tout called Plentong who will hound you into using his 'brothers' taxi. He is extremely overpriced and worst of all he does not have Air Con, although he will lie to you that he does. We ended our Bali trip in his lousy taxi, sweating to death in the midday heat on the way to the airport. This is not recommended. Try out the Hotel, avoid the taxi driver.

Artini 2 Cottages are cheap (Aus $60 or US$40 per night) but you get a lot for your money. We have just returned and can't speak highly enough of this place. Having stayed at much more expensive places before this was a real surprise. The rooms are simple with no televisions, bar fridges or towelling robes, etc. But they are so clean with all the essentials and very Balinese. We had wonderful views of the rice paddies and found the staff so friendly and helpful. The gardens are beautifully kept and the pool is excellent.

Artini 2 is right in the middle of everything in Ubud and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel they are really staying in Bali.

We stayed there in December 2013 with my infant daughter.

First of all, the staff are very sweet and helpful. The grounds are very pretty and clean. The room was just alright (2 beds, A/C, bathroom had some mold...) The pool is nice. The restaurant was adequate.

We were charged high season rates.

We heard something that woke us up the first night, but were unclear what it was. The second night the rats got into such a battle in our ceiling that their tails kept popping out between where the different types of ceiling panels join. It was horrendously loud. There are MANY RATS.

We reported it in the morning. Nothing was done. We reported it the next day and one of the workers said they put out traps. It was clearly a problem that a few traps could not solve, and clearly a chronic issue we realized as we confirmed the same problem with other guests in the building.

Let me be clear. They are not on the roof. They are IN THE CEILING. The rooms have a thatch decorative layer and the rats live on that. They are peeing and defacating right above your head. You can smell it if you turn off the fan and A/C, which they always turned to high.

We complained about it each day, but nothing changed. On the last day I asked to speak to the manager to negotiate a discount. Though he came down some, it was not even the price of one night's stay and we had been there almost a week. While he was very apologetic, he claimed that they are not allowed to kill rats on Ubud... which totally contradicts the employee's statement about putting down traps.

I understand that maintaining buildings in tropical climates is hard, and clearing a rat infestation is probably a nightmare. But you can't offer yourself up as nice hotel... or really, you shouldn't rent rooms at all... with THIS serious of an infestation.

The manager said they are planning to renovate, as if that should make me feel better after a week of middle of the night rat fights.

It's not like this is a small place with no money. The owner has several locations and many units. This is neglect, pure and simple.

We confirmed that our neighbors in the adjoining rooms were having the same issue.

Wish I could recommend them, but not with this facilities in this state.

The grounds if thus hotel are beautiful and there location is convenient. The staff were friendly and professional. My partner and I booked as super deluxe room for two nights. The room was at the far end if the complex and beautiful. Unfortunately the first night was not good. A dog barked all night without let uip. It was so loud that even with as pillow over your head it cvoukd still bed heard. Beithger of us got any sleep. We gave up at I be thirty in the morning and called reception to see if they had ear plugs/ we were told to call back at seven in the morning. At three thirty we went tyi see if we could gave any other room as we needed some sleep before our bike tour. Noone was to be found/it was an awful night. To their credit we were moved to another super deluxe room with twin beds in the morning. It was comfortable peaceful and thankfully quiet. My advice? Check Tif booking a room make sure tyher dog situation has been taken care of.evidently a person over the was rescues dogs.

My husband and I recently returned from a week in Ubud. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Artini 2 Cottages. The grounds are beautiful and meticulously kept up. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Our room had great air conditioning which is always a plus in Bali. The pool was wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially since we paid about 30.00 a night. The breakfast was delicious as well. What we enjoyed the most was the pool with its gorgeous grounds and the excellent staff!

The best thing about this bungalow style hotel are the grounds, staff, breakfast and location which is right in the heart of Ubud mins away from a bustling market, Yoga stores, eateries and the monkey forest.

The rooms do leave a little to be desired. Dark and dismal rooms that include a stench of mold & mildew (though given the humidity that's to be expected). Still, there is that feel the rooms could benefit from a good spring clean. Small spots on the bedsheets, dirty trash cans (see pix) and stained tubs in a darkened room isn't my cup of tea. It's cheap and is the perfect place to crash and commute for a night but if you're seeking a little more luxury you're better off heading elsewhere.
