Arrived at 2.20 a.m. and was greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our room. I don’t think we got the room we’d booked and paid for as many rooms were still to be renovated after being closed off for two years. We decided not to complain as our room was clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, the staff wonderful and the breakfast good. Would recommend this hotel and would stay agai.

Beautiful atmospheric place off busy Hanuman street with pool and garden and i have an amazing rice paddy view from my balcony. Interesting Balinese statues are present throughout.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is the bathroom is a bit old.

I didn’t book to stay at this hotel, their sister hotel where we had booked closed for renovations and they transferred our booking (which we only found out 2 days before we left when our travel agent went to confirm our booking). We had requested two rooms next to each other as we are a family of 2A and 4C and neither hotel does interconnecting rooms but when we got there, they had given us two rooms on the opposite sides of the hotel. We explained that that wasn’t acceptable and they kindly changed one of the rooms so we were at least within a short distance of each other but still not together so my husband and I had to split between the two rooms as we didn’t want 3 of the kids in the room away from us on their own. My husband managed to get one of the renovated rooms of which it looks like there are only a couple and I was in one of the old style rooms. The exterior of the old rooms are lovely look at but once inside our room on the ground floor was like a dungeon, dark and musty with old mismatches furniture and a bathroom which we didn’t want to use so we all ended up showering in the modern room where the bathroom had been renovated. The room safe in the renovated room wasn’t secured to anything so wasn’t worth using and the only way to lock the old style room is a padlock when you leave and a sliding wooden bar when you are inside the room. The grounds are traditional and nice to look at and the staff were lovely but the breakfast is very basic and not the best so we ended up eating breakfast out 3 out of the 4 days we were there. The only thing really going for this place is the location was great, walkable to the markets and the monkey forest with loads of places to shop and eat around it.

Stayed here with a travel group, otherwise I would have left. The gardens are beautiful & the pool is lovely, but the rooms are quite frankly, disgusting. Luckily there’s bad lighting in the room so you can’t really see all the filth. The sheets were stained. The bathroom was gross, particularly the shower. Moldy blinds. Not a huge deal, but irritating when they have happy hour & know how many people are in their hotel but ran out of beer on a few occasions. I would have asked to change rooms but the others in my group said their rooms were equally bad. There are way better options in Ubud - don’t stay here.

Despite the busy street, the cottages are in a tranquil garden. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but like many tropical hotels, the bathroom was a bit stale. Pool is lovely. Staff were friendly an helpful.

The layout of this hotel is nice , gardens spectacular. However rooms felt dirty and unkept... large gouges out of walls and bathroom smelt... the shower head also pointed out of the shower so would spray onto the floor instead of being directed into bath below. So u had to hold the shower ha d piece...also too the noise from rooms above quite loud.... the bathroom especially bad with rusty Venetian blind over window that didn’t close completely which is above the bath... really needs some love .great position in town ...
