We originally booked for seven days and stayed in Cabana 2. We cut our trip short after three days due to the tropical depression #25 coming in with excessive amounts of rain.

Breakfasts appeared to be exceptional, however both my husband and I are toast and coffee only type of people. Others enjoyed coffee, juice, fruit, toast or sweet bread as well as a different Mexican breakfast specialty every day.

I would not recommend booking Cabana 2 if rain is expected as the room is lower than ground level and the room floods in heavy rains.

The owner Luis, his family and staff members are awesome and very helpful with anything you might need.

The location is perfect and within walking distance to the square, restaurants, shops and supermarket. It has a small swimming pool that looked inviting.

This is the best B&B myself and husband have ever stayed in i.e. staff, room size & quality, quiet relaxing atmosphere, emenities & food all superb. Louis and Co take such good care of their customers you feel like family. They even personally gave us a goodbye when we left in the taxi. The best part was they fit us in last minute when a stay at a hotel in PDC was cut short. We were due to arrive on a Monday, I called them Saturday morning, Louis fit us in and were we ever relieved! They put us in a huge groundfloor room with kitchen and beautiful outlook onto the breakfast/patio area. We had to move rooms after 2 nights but staff moved our cases for us no probs, we went to the ocean room which was huge with beautiful views, an ocean view balcony and a big patio out back with lounge chairs. The groundsman meticulously sweeps the paths every morning and cleans the swimming pool, this garden is immaculate! Filled with so many beautiful plants it is hard to take it all in; a visual and sound feast with all the lovely birds enjoying the atmosphere along with the guests. The hotel supplies beach towels and chairs for the few steps walk to the white sand the gorgeous turquoise water. Dont hestitate to book here, this place and all staff are amazing!

I've been visiting P.M. for many years and never could get a room here. This December we were fortunate to spend two weeks in this charming piece of P.M. history.

For those who don't care to walk it is on the collectivo route or a taxi can be called for thirty pesos to the central park.

The breakfasts were fresh and very nicely presented. Our first morning we were served on our balcony!

It was roomy and the water was hot.

Many interesting artifacts and plants in the garden.

Luis is an efficient and attentive host.

The beach was clean. Our stay was quiet and very pleasant.

We stayed at Amar in for two nights. We stayed on ground floor room and it has partial sea view from patio/balcony. Room was beautiful. They serve delicious breakfast. They accommodated our requirement as we are vegetarians. So, special thanks to them. This cute place is hardly 50 steps from the beach. Beach is very calm. Our four year old daughter enjoyed in the water by herself. That was very different compared to rough water in Cancun where we stayed before visiting Puerto Morelos. They provide beach towels. If you are in Puerto Morelos for snorkeling, you will find guys offering snorkeling tour as soon as you reach the beach from hotel (within 50 feet). There were couple of turtles on the property. This place is worth every penny. Thanks to Luis for being a great host! Whenever we are in Puerto Morelos, we will be back here.

The Amar Inn was such a perfect place to be able to enjoy the beach in an authentic and personalized setting, unlike many of the high end resorts in the area. This B&B is located just off of the beach and offers beach views from a few of its rooms as well as a small pool and beautiful garden courtyard. Our family enjoyed the cabinas and palapas roof style. Breakfast in the morning was delicious! We stayed at both the beginning and end of our trip and were delighted to find out it was a slightly different breakfast each time (though both consisted of coffee or tea, fruit, yogurt, and some type of main course like eggs or bread with cheese/meat). The staff were very friendly and helpful, and overall we had a great stay here and wished we could have stayed longer! Since we stayed twice on different dates we tried two different rooms, but liked both of them very well. The AC worked nicely and we felt the rooms were comfortable and nicely furnished.

Superb experience. Rooms are really comfy, clean and cozy. The hotel is beautiful, it has plenty of trees which provide such a fresh atmosphere. The staff is great, really attentive and can help you with any concern you may have. They recommended great places to have dinner. The beach is just a few steps from the entrance and you can even borrow the beach chairs. Breakfast is different everyday, always delicious. If you are looking for a nice, quite and cozy place, I totally recommend this place.

A great compliment to the staff, in particular the American boy who just started working the evenings and the lady working during the day. They were very interested in us and helped us with our questions.

Our room was a bit outdated and it had a humid smell which made it a bit unpleasant. The location on the other hand is great as is the cleaning of the rooms.

We would highly advise the hotel to give the tortugas a better accommodation since we felt very bad seeing them.

The Amar Inn is a delightful small hotel in Puerto Morelos. We had a very comfortable room and every day a slightly different and very good breakfast. You can walk everywhere from the Inn. The beach is very close and the hotel has chairs you can take to the beach and there is a lot of shade under the palm trees. It is an easy walk to the small town. We particularly enjoyed dinner at the new Peninsula restaurant owned by Louis from the Amar Inn. Maria, a receptionist, was especially helpful, very informed, multi-lingual and very charming.

This small hotel is one of those special places where you can tell the owners and staff have put so much thought and care into making it special. From the leafy courtyard to the delicious breakfast, to the immaculately clean rooms, not to mention the warm and helpful staff, I felt very comfortable here.

The location is excellent too. Walk around the corner and you’re on a great stretch of beach, where you can walk easily to a beach club, plop a chair under the palm trees, or just run right into the ocean for a quick dip. When it’s dinner time, you just walk 2-3 blocks to the main drag to find a restaurant. Yet it always felt tranquil at the hotel itself.

As others have mentioned, the hotel provides towels and comfortable beach chairs. They were also great at recommending tours and places to eat. I hope to come back here again!

Oh, and this was a great place to stay as a solo traveler. I felt very safe, and breakfast was a nice time to chat with other guests.

We stayed on the top level with 2 lovely views of the ocean and beach. Waking up and having a great breakfast of fruit and savory was an added bonus. There was always a concierge available to help with booking and reservations. They were extremely attentive and always searching to make our stay better!

I'm not aware of laundry on site. If you ask Luis, he can confirm - and possibly let you know if there is any laundry service. He is extremely helpful and has resources to help whether it is a transfer, reef snorkel, or even where to get your rental car cleaned out (as we needed). Just ask!

Hello Amanda! I did not see any children during my stay, and a few rooms wouldn’t be suitable for young children, but a few I think would be fine for families. I would email or call them. The owners speak excellent English, so that should help. 😊
