The Barcelona Center Hotel 4*, located in the heart of the Eixample neighborhood, occupies and elegant building of 1944 that has been completely restored. Our design combines history, modernity and comfort. The Hotel has 132 rooms, of which 117 are Standard, 12 Superior and 3 Suites. All of them are equipped with LCD TVs, individual safe deposit box and working desk. Our restaurant, Balmes 103, offers the best Mediterranean cuisine, while the Mojito Bar on the terrace is the perfect place to chill out over a drink while watching the views during summer time. Our guests will be able to enjoy a relaxing soak in our open-door Jacuzzis, located on the 7th floor together with the sauna and the fitness center. Great location: we found this was an ideal location. Only a short walk away from some of the gaudi buildings, plenty of restaurants and only about 10min walk away from the hop on hop off bus stop (would definitely recommend the bus tourist one!! We got a 2 day one, bought it online which worked out a little cheaper!) We like the idea of doing plenty of walking too so was about 20min walk to the Sagrada familia, and about a 15min walk to the place de catalunya (the main square) and la ramblas.
Room: Room had pretty much everything we needed (toiletries (shampoo, bath gel, tissues, comb etc, and kettle, fridge etc) the fridge is very small and full of 'mini bar' items so we actually just took them out and placed them on the side and put our own stuff in which didn't seem to be a problem. They don't provide much coffee etc so we went to a supermarket and bought a jar or Nescafé and a carton of milk and put that in the fridge instead. Antoher thing to add is like most hotels the coffee cups are tiny so would actually recommend taking some mugs or buying some cheap ones whilst there.
We didn't eat in the hotel at all but there are loads of lovely bars and restaurants just a short walk away. And LOADS of little supermarkets where you can buy pretty much everything.
We had a look up to the rooftop but unfortunately the bar doesn't open in the winter but can imagine it would be a lovely spot to have a drink. Nothing much to look at up there though, apart from a view of tidibabo but apart from that not alot else to look at!
**Overall we would definitely stay again! Purely for the location!

This hotel was recommended to me. This was a fantastic hotel, from the moment I arrived, greeted by the wonderful welcomed reception staff. I booked the lovely superior room, due to specific needs, I had contacted via email the hotel prior to my arrival, which they certainly tried to accommodate in every way. Breakfast staff, room service and bar staff super friendly! Free Wi-Fi, visited the 7th floor of the wonderful view of Barcelona, sauna, sitting area with bar on the roof top. Restaurant on ground floor and breakfast lower ground. The location is perfect for tourist or business visitors. Local underground stations 1 min walk single ticket is 3.40 euros, taxi stand is opposite the hotel, including all cash points and supermarket is behind the hotel. Everything accessible and easy. Tourist attractions like La Perera is 6 minute walk, La Ramblas is 20 min walk. I like the décor of this hotel traditional wooden effect and cream colours, rather than the modern hotels that look surgical. I wouldn’t say its outdated just depends on your taste. Strongly recommend to opt for a superior room for the generous space, all depends on availability. I have been on many trips and have never come across such a wonderful large spacious hotel room. Even the beds were perfect, firm and comfortable. Showers were powerful bathroom had toiletries, towels, dressing gowns, hair dryers and slippers. Each day is 1 euro tax.Certainly would recommend this hotel, sad to leave but hope to return again!

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in a superior double room on the 6th floor. First thing to note is the location is about a 20 min walk to what I would call the main plaza (near La Rambla) where the main touristy buses and such are. If you can't be bothered with a the walk, I'd reccomend a hotel in the plaza itself or on La Rambla. The hotel is on the intersection between Carrer de Balmes and Carrer de Mallorca. The latter being one of the main roads to get about from what I could tell. Rooms were a great size and the double bed was big (I'm 1.96m and I felt I had lots of room). Staff were very friendly and helpful, their English was superb. There is a lovely cozy bar which unfortunately closed a bit too soon for our liking (I think it may be open later in peak season), same with the terrace bar and hot tubs, but again I assume they are open much later over the summer.
The breakfast was a great spread of bacon, eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, fruit juices, teas, coffees, pastries and cereals. It looked to be fairly consistent for all 4 days but that should be enough variety - I just had the same thing every day because I'm boring.
The staff will happily store your luggage if you arrive prior to check in and will store it if you need to hang around after you check out. We felt very safe with regard to COVID with mandatory face masks and many points to sanitise your hands. If you don't want to wear a mask, then you shouldn't be allowed out of your home anyway.
Final thing to point out is that the taxi to and from the airport will probably cost around 35-40 Euros depending on traffic. In the evening 10-15 euros should get you just about anywhere, we got to Camp Nou in under 15 euros on a match day 20min prior to kick off.
Overall, great hotel and would highly recommend.

Unsure how this is 4 stars and can charge what they charge. Paid 230 Euros and the room had so many faults: curtains wouldn’t close, horrible smell, toilet top hanging off. Sleep was atrocious with light coming in due to curtain failure. Very unhelpful when explaining this over email.
Some of the hotels like Hotel Grenados 83 & Hotel One I also stayed in and were faultless and much cheaper - Go stay there!!
Hotel Center is clearly just leveraging off their good location to trap tourists into paying a lot and having little care in the room & facilities quality.
I never write tripadvsior reviews but guests need to be warned that this is the worst value to money I’ve ever experienced in a hotel stay. Take my advice and go for an alternative in the area you before you fall victim to this hotel’s atrocity of an offer

This hotel is conveniently located for sightseeing, transport and restaurants. The rooms are luxuriously appointed. Robes and slippers are provided and also a wide selection of toiletries etc. The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. My husband had advised them it was my 60th birthday and we were surprised with a bottle of Champagne in our room. The breakfast selection was vast and really sets you up for the day. There is a gorgeous roof terrace/bar with two jacuzzi plunge pools and sun loungers. We travelled in January so didn’t have chance to use these facilities which was a shame. If we revisit Barcelona we would most definitely stay here again.

We had a fabulous stay here for 5 days in January. The hotel‘s location in an upmarket area could not be better. Wonderful restaurants and shops nearby. The Metro only a block or 2 from the hotel and the bus stop even nearer to the hotel. Our room was spacious with a nice few on the road. The traffic noise was not a disturbance. The only downside of the room was that it was a bit dark and the coffee and spoons were not replaced every day. We had to phone reception a few times. Breakfast had a big spread and was of good quality. There are Jacuzzi's on the rooftop with stunning views over the city. Was lovely to sit in the Jacuzzi's at night after a busy day. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Staff is very friendly and helpful, hotel location is excellent. The rooms are clean but a bit dark, the showers don't have curtains so is easy to get the floor wet when showering, temperature of the water changes from cold to very hot while showering. We didn't try the restaurant, all in all is a great find but needs a bit of renovation.

Great location close to City Centre. Quiet neighbourhood in the evening. The hotel is 10 min walk from the train stop on Passeig de Gracia coming from the airport which is across the street from Casa de Batllo. The rooms were a bit outdated but clean. We had a large terrace on the 6th floor overlooking a cort yard and facing the mount with the amusement park. Polite and helpful staff. I lost one of the key cards but they were very cool about it and didn't charge me for it :) We didn't try the restaurant or other facilities as sauna etc. Overall very good!

The taxi is around 25 euros, and the lenght of the trip depends on what time of the day you are arriving.
Keep in mind: Uber ceased operations in Barcelona, so... taxi or walk. Barcelona Center Hotel is a great location, walking distance to lots of restaurants and fun things to do
