Northwood Lodge, off "The Cariboo Trail" on Timothy Lake, is a peaceful environment for anyone looking for great outdoor adventures. With hot summers and snowy winters the activities are endless. Stay in a rustic cabin or a family sized panabode, or bring your own camper and enjoy a lake side view. Northwood offers a fully licensed restaurant/bar, beautiful scenic deck, 45 acres of nature and a welcoming lake. Rent a boat for fishing or exploring, or lay in the sun and cool off in the water. Don't be afraid to go for a hike in the mountains or sit around a crackling campfire with friends and family. Feel free to bring your quads in the summer or snowmobiles in the winter and follow numerous trails through out the mountain area. The best thing about nature is the freedom to enjoy Earth's natural playground. Northwood is also kid and pet friendly! There is a playground in the center of the area for the kids to play on! Fishing and hunting area, boat rentals, fishing gear, smoke house and ice. Northwood Lodge is currently undergoing NEW management and is upgrading all angles of the land for your comfortability, enjoyment and vacational needs! NORTHWOOD LODGE AND RESORT IS RE-OPENING MARCH 1st 2013.

Beautiful location, well-maintained cabins and campsites, very amenable hosts…what else do you need?!
To give you an idea of the standards to which these folks operate…the dishes and glassware is sturdy quality and match (not the habitual garage and estate sale stuff!), and each cabin has it’s own set of towels and bed linen (as opposed to whatever is at the top of the clean pile).

The only fault is the dodgy wifi - nowhere near strong enough for streaming but, with patience, will let you pick up email and scroll the ‘net. If you’re selecting a campsite based on the quality of wifi, though, you’re priorities are wrong! Perfect lake for everything people want to do in and on water (the fishing folk might disagree), and watching the loons diving, fish jumping, and the occasional eagle making a splash-down…priceless

As with any campsite, bring effective bug repellant.

Only 15mins to Lac La Hache for gas and groceries.

Lovely, well cared for resort and campground on peaceful Timothy Lake. Easy to get to on paved secondary road, not far from Lac La Hache. Very friendly owners and staff. Definitely would visit there again!!!!

This resort is ideal for individuals or a group, situated on Timothy Lake 16 km from Lac La Hache. The resort is rustic but has everything you need. The panabodes (2 and 3 bedrooms cabins) are older but have all the amenities and are clean. As well there are several cabins and camping sites. The camping sites on the lake have power and water hook-ups, there are also camping sites in the trees with full hook-ups with 30 amp service. A bonus is the rustic hall, available for bookings at a very reasonable rate. They have a small restaurant which serves good food between 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 pm. Timothy Lake is good for swimming as well as fishing.

We had a great weekend at this resort EXCEPT for the owners. When we arrived Ann greeted each of us politely and was very nice, but we soon saw there were two sides to her. They don't seem to know how to deal with the public. Yelling from their deck at the customers was not very nice or hospitable. If they had a problem it would have been nice if they would have gone down to the water and spoken to the guests. The owner (Ann) would say one thing then the next day change her mind e.g. when my niece came she was told to take her dog down to the water and let it jump off the dock then the next day she was yelled at from the deck to get her dog off the dock. She also yelled at a little girl (again from the deck of the lodge) rather than going down and speaking nicely to her. One other problem that could have been very serious is the hot water heaters and the way they are hooked up. The hot water tank in our panabode blew up. My young nephew happened to walk into the room where steam was gushing out, we were very fortunate he wasn't burned. The hot water heaters are not hooked up to BC code standards.

If you are looking for a place to hold a reunion or for a nice get-a-way, and don't need five star accommodations, in the interior of British Columbia I would recommend Northwood Lodge and Resort, just stay out of the owner's way.

My husband and I stayed at Northwood Lodge with family members and friends to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary this July of 2013. The people were excellent, friendly and very helpful, right down to their dog that thinks she is a lifeguard for any teenager or child that goes swimming. The dog sits dutifully on the dock watching until all of the kids are safely back on land; so cute! The setting was incredible; beautiful waterfront campsites and a perfect little park for the grandbabies to play in. The clean hot showers were a welcome treat as well. Beautiful lake for kayakers and fishermen with larger boats; we had both and enjoyed our time on the water. The full hookups and water in the campsites was excellent; something you don't get at Provincial Campsites for the price you get here! A very family friendly excellent place for a vacation. If you want a relaxing evening overlooking the lake; you can visit their outside deck for a nice dinner or night cap; listen to the loons talk to each other; so relaxing! Thank you to all working at Northwood Lodge our stay was incredible! hopefully we will be back before the summer is done; if not then we will see you next year for sure!

we had our wedding at the resort with 120 people, they were very accomodating and went above and beyond, they also catered the event and the guests raved about the food. i couldnt have asked for a nicer spot for our family and friends to join us for a weekend of laughs and fishing!

In every aspect, can't image a better place. The beautiful lake, the rustic setting, the tons of recreation... but most of all the staff. We had major vehicle trouble while there and the staff went above and beyond for us. If we had to be stranded for a week it was wonderful to be stranded in paradise. Ann and Rick, Wally and Debbie, Lana, Tessa, everyone went the extra mile for us to make sure that not only could we get our truck fixed, but also that we were happy and comfortable while we waited. They kept our grandkids entertained and treated us like family. We can't thank them enough, there just aren't enough words. We will definitely be back, but we promise... in a different vehicle.

Beautiful location by a warm lake. Many 'rustic' cabins. Awesome lake front rv sites. Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Our family is planning on visiting again and maybe making this a regular stop in the summer.
