Some nights there were noise from people shouting in the hallway and night buses. Bathroom wasn't the best bathroom. Pool had salty water in and ruined the pool experience. Lifts are small. Location is ok. Breakfast was amazing there is a large selection. Good view from room. WIFI worked well.

This is a hotel that will leave you with the same bed linens for 5 nights without changing them. The housekeeping services is so bad and even recorded that they had changed the linens at 5 AM whilst we are asleep. I wonder how they were able to lift us up and changed the bed. The reception staff doesn't care at all. I raised it last night and hoping it will all be rectified this morning, I was wrong. 5 nights on the same sheets in an unkempt room. Never again will I visit or never will I recommend any of the Catalonia hotels. Spend your holidays somewhere else, spare yourself the agony of this place. I have uploaded the photos of the bed linens that they said they changed at 5AM, 7th August 2017.

This hotel is great value for money and for the most part was as we expected. It is a five minute walk from the metro or if you prefer, a cab was about 13euros from the centre of town. I think the 3* rating was fair and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Firstly I want to say that the staff service was brilliant. They were all very welcoming and helpful no matter what the time was. As a group of three girls, we were a little disappointed not to have a mirror in our bedroom. We asked at reception and they provided us with a full length, huge mirror that was expertly secured to the wall. The staff on reception also gave us a restaurant recommendation and thanks to them, we had an absolutely fantastic meal on our last night. Nothing was too much trouble.

We had a room with three single beds. It was a small room but I think that is to be expected. I don't think the room would have been as cramped with one double bed. The walls are a little thin and we could hear the neighbours on occasion. I am a heavy sleeper so it didn't bother me but I would advise any light sleepers to bring ear plugs. However, the rooms were cleaned every day and while it would have been nice to have a fridge in the room too, all our other needs were met.

The pool area was also pleasant. It wasn't a huge pool but it was just what was needed on a very hot day in August. There were plenty of sunbeds so there was no need to arrive at the pool area super early although we did every morning. The only downside is the pool area didn't open until 10am and on some hot mornings, it would have been nice to go up a little earlier. You were also not allowed to take any food from the snack bar up to the pool which was a shame.

We were disappointed with the snack bar. As the hotel is situated a little far out of the main town, you have to walk to find another restaurant/cafe for lunch. We would have been very happy if we could have eaten our food at the pool and if the food was of a higher standard. On our first visit, we all ordered club sandwiches which were lovely although a little pricey. We also enjoyed a few well made gin and tonics. On this occasion, we were happy with both the food and the service.

On another evening, we went to have dinner at the bar and the food was incredibly disappointing. I ordered the spaghetti bolognaise. The spaghetti was not cooked fresh and I expect the bolognaise sauce came out of a tin. My two friends ordered burgers. One ordered the chicken burger with guacamole and cheese. When the burger arrived, it was minus the guacamole and cheese and came with five "deluxe" chips. When we complained to the waitress, she explained that the cheese and the guacamoli was mixed up in the burger patti. My other friend ordered the burger that came with onion rings. The plate also came with five chips and no onion rings. To say we felt misled was an understatement. After this event, we didn't go back to the snack bar again.

Overall, we did enjoy our stay. While I would not recommend the food, the rest of the hotel is pleasant, clean and of good value for money. The main town and port is easily accessible and on the weekends the metro runs for 24 hours. If you are looking for value for money and a friendly atmosphere, I would recommend this hotel.

Our first room was tiny, not much wider than the length of the bed. It had a tiny window that was at exhaust level with the many cars that drove past all night so no view at all and very noisy! The air-con unit was old, noisy and useless. It was the cockroaches found in the wardrobe that really took the biscuit however!
We were moved to another room for the second night. This room was much bigger and more like on ones you see on the website. The air-con didn't work in here either however and the window looked onto a disgusting service well in the centre of the hotel, where many of the guests would lean out to smoke and through their cigarettes into when finished!
We complained again and were guaranteed that the technician would fix the a/c as we had not slept for 2 nights now. We went out for the day but upon return the a/c was still broken and nothing had been done. We spent a third night hot and unhappy as the unit revved up and clicked off every 2 minutes!!!
Complained again in the morning and were told that no discount could be given as the room and breakfast had been paid up front. We were told the hotel was full and that we could not move again! After stressing how unhappy we were and explaining that we wanted compensated we were finally offered a different hotel. They arranged for our taxi and we went!
The restaurant areas were nice but the food was quite basic and the cooked breakfast was cold! Finally, the lovely views from the pool that you see on the website are not so as the glass surrounding the pool looks like it has never been washed since it was installed.
If you want to really enjoy Barcelona DO NOT STAY HERE!

I travelled to Barcelona on Weds 3rd April with my partner to spend a couple of days shopping and strolling around taking in the sights. We wanted to be based in the Park Guell area of Barcelona as we had never stayed in this location before.

On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. We had booked a twin/double bedroom and I forgot to check which it was before heading up. However as soon as we did realise it was a twin room we went back downstairs and we were provided with a room with a double bed instead.

The room (401) had a great view, across the hills and down towards the Ramblas and the sea! The bathroom also had a little window with great views across the top of the city.

Breakfast was fine with lots of food (hot and cold) to choose from but the food on offer from the bar/dinner was amazing, with the squid and spanish omelette being my favourites!

The staff were incredible, they were knowledgable about the sites and locations of every place we asked about. The staff on the front desk would immediately whip out a map and show you exactly where you were and were you needed to go.

As mentioned by other reviewers the hotel is well placed to visit the beautiful Park Guell as well as close enough to the Metro to get into and across Barcelona easily.

We had a lovely stay here and slept well once we got used to the noise of vehicles at night in the road out front - this being the only drawback to having a room at the front and on the main roadside of the hotel.

After two days of relentless walking my feet were very sore and in desperation I asked if they possibly had two plasters. I couldn't believe it when the assistant manager rushed off to find them for me and returned with two, making my journey home pain free!

We would therefore highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Barcelona, particularly this part of town.

We came in Barcelona for 4 days and we had paid very little for our accommodation so we didn't expect too much...mainly because we intended to visit most of the time. But when we arrived we had a big surprise..the room was very nice and the bathroom even better. The staff o.k. and the only downside i think it would be the location...a bit too far from the center and by the end we were a little sick of the subway but all in all i would recommend this hotel to everyone !

We were a student group traveling through Europe, and for the Barcelona stop, this was our hotel. We expected a cheap place as it was a student tour group, but we were very pleasantly surprised by the hotel.

First of all, the location isn't right in the middle of the city, but the price is worth it. It is a short, straight-shot trip on the Metro to Las Ramblas. The walk from the hotel to the stop takes maybe five to ten minutes, and it's a pretty walk. The views throughout the walk are beautiful during the day and at night.

The rooms that we stayed in were minimal, but clean. It had what we needed: clean beds, shower, a decent amount of space, and FREE WIFI! Having traveled through Europe, I appreciated that. The hotel staff were very friendly, and we also had access to free newspapers. Our stay included a buffet breakfast which was delicious. The pastries were freshly baked, and there was hot food (bacon, ham, eggs) along with cereals, breads, and fruit.

The only problem we experienced was that one of the rooms we had didn't have a working shower. The girls had to take baths, and although we asked them to fix it a few times, it was never fixed. The girls were okay with it.

If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel for Barcelona, this is a very good choice!

Stayed 8 nights. Location is great! Metro is a 5 min wall and the nearest bus station is a minute away. We could go anywhere in Barcelona using these. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food and coffee is good too.

My only point for feedback is that our rooms don't get throughly cleaned. My lipstick rolled under the bed and when I picked it up it was covered in dust! Only to find that the area under the bed was not sweeped. Same with the bathroom....

Other than that it was a good for our budget and the hotel was nice and comfortable.

This hotel has a solid view of the city. It is located on a steep hill and offers great walking and exercise paths. This hotel is typical of many in the city. Limited space, but good service and great views. The hotel might need a little bit of an update in terms of its amenities and features. Also there needs to be more amenities in the bathrooms. It felt like they were very cost conscious. Good hotel anyway
