It's a very good hotel lying in a nice street with elegant buildings, carrer Santaló, where there isn't much traffic. The place is therefore relatively quiet. The hotel is very near Travessera de Gràcia, Avenida Diagonal, Barcelona main thoroughfare, and the imposing Plaça Francesc Macià which includes a roundabout in the middle of the stated avenue.
Inside the hotel is cosy and peaceful. At least, I heard hardly any noise so that apparently the building is soundproof and the bedroom windows are well isolated. The room I was allocated was very comfortable so that I was pleased to remain inside for a long time every day; especially the beds are very comfy for their mattresses have the adequate toughness to assure a good sleep. Albeit the bedroom window looks onto the road, the light traffic noise which can be heard wasn't at all disturbing. During the day the room was very well lit up by day light and gay. The bathroom was also nice and comfortable.
The staff members are all kind and friendly, particularly the manageress who works also sometimes at the front desk. The room maids are very helpful indeed and do a very good job.
The breakfast is good and abundant. It's possible for that meal to have several types of health foods and otherwise enough to keep going for several hours. The fresh fruits, for instance, are of a high quality and usually tasty. The pastry is also varied and good. At the same place where breakfast is served, the hotel restaurant, one can likewise have other meals, to wit, lunch and dinner. The relevant menu for those meals includes good dishes. One can choose, among others, a sirloin steak which is usually rather tender. Such a choice entails however the payment of a moderate supplement. The only drawback in that restaurant is that the TV set is normally on at the same time as the music not of a very good quality, by the way, thus bringing about a sort of somewhat awkward mixed-up sounds. Sometimes I begged them to stop the music, to which they had no objection.
By and large therefore that hotel is a recommendable place to stay in Barcelona. The lodging there may certainly contribute to assure the enjoyment of one's stay in the city concerned.

Nice hotel, very nearby the Diagonal and some of the iconic places of Barcelona.
The hotel is in a rather quiet street but with no exceptional view on the surroundings. Rooms are nicely furnished, with in my case a safe, a fridge and an aging TV screen (but offering direct HDMI connection with the cable that I brought with me) that is siting on a nice desk, with too few plugs. For professional travellers, WiFi connectivity is available but not the fastest (low res video sometimes stalls).
Note that electricity requires to use the card from the hotel, preventing to leave a laptop charging when having dinner, for example.
Bathroom is convenient with shower, wash bassin, bidet and toilets. Only minus is the fact that the shower is not with a thermostatic valve and that it can take ages to get the first drop of hot water. To be noted the extended provided amenities.
Breakfast is fair for a 4* hotel, missing freshly baked fried eggs, with bacon that is far from crispy and with missing muesli and less processed cereal and food (for example natural yoghourt is on request). Dinner menu is presenting a decent amount of choice for a fair price.
That hotel has been booked for me by my company (that is located around the corner to Diagonal) and is a nice discovery.

We stayed in two connected rooms and also paid for late check out (about 17:00)
Communication with the hotel were excellent and everything was smooth.
Rooms big and nice with small balcony, bathtub in bathroom, minibar and kettle. Rooms were clean although they are needed some furniture refreshment.
Location is good. Not in the middle of touristic area but close enough and very nice area with a lot of shops and restaurants.
We didn’t have a breakfast, but there was a lot of options around the hotel.
Some attentions within walking distance and the taxi convenient and not expensive (we used Free Now app).
Fitness room are basic. Nice common terrace ion the top floor.
We will be back next time in Barcelona.

Majority of the service good. The plate of cucumber slices in the breakfast table that nobody would touch for day and the same plate still reincarnates is kind of a bad joke though. What else is wrong if something that simple goes bad so much one might think. After I was seen taking a photo of it, this plate from (at least) two days ago was immediately replaced, among others.

Took my Daughter away for three nights for her birthday. Easy check in and our room was ready early which was good. Lovely clean room, twin beds, complimentary tea and coffee. Fridge in room which was useful. Safe in room, very easy to use.
Nice bathroom, bath and powerful shower, toiletries in dispensers. Maid kept the room spotless. The only gripe i have is the poor quality toilet roll, i expect better for a 4 star hotel.
Breakfast was ok, enough choice for both of us.
Sat up in the roof terrace and enjoyed the sunshine, there is a nice little gym there also.
We enjoyed our stay here very much.

The staff at the hotel was very nice! We arrived last minute and they did everything to make us feel comfortable. They were kind and took in charge the situation. Xavi at the reception gave us such a good service! We can't thank him enough. The room was clean and there was everything we needed. Breakfast in the morning is also very nice!

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who's coming to Barcelona!

The staff was friendly and helpful to us. We mostly had dealings with a front desk staff member whose name was "Fate." He was very helpful and courteous. He advised us to buy our tickets for Sagrada Familiar online because the wait in line at the attractions would be about 2 hours or more and he was correct as we saw the following day. We used the computer in the Hotel lobby and Fate printed them for us. We had numerous questions on several things and he patiently and courteously answered. The room was small but quiet. The view over-looked other buildings so not the best.

We purchased a T-10 card (10 rides) for 10.3Euros, at the newsstand close to the Hotel. Any number of people can use the same card, just validate it on the bus for how many of you there are. If you buy separate tickets on the bus it will cost you 2.15E each.
The Hotel is on Santalo, so to get to the newsstand, walk out of the Hotel, take a Left on Santalo and a right on Travessera de Gracia. This is the street on the corner. Walk
down Travessera de Gracia for a few minutes and the newsstand will be on your left almost at the corner of Ave. Diagonal. Cross to the other side of Diagonal and you can take bus # 34
to Sagrada Familiar Basicilia. You would see the top of the Basicilia through the side streets as you get nearer so you will know when to get off or ask the driver. The bus ride is about 8 mins or so. The Metro stop Sagrada Familiar is also right in front of the Basicilia.

To get to the Airport from this Hotel, you CAN also use the T-10 card. Barcelona Tourist information told us that we had to use the Aerobus which cost 5.9Euros each, but that was not correct. Research said that we could use the T-10 and this was correct. From the Hotel go the same route as if you are going to the newsstand I mentioned above. When you get to the newstand, which is almost at Ave. Diagonal, stay on this side, go to your left and you will see the bus stop. Here you take bus # 27, which goes to PL.Espana. This is the last stop and it stops at the side of the Big Circular Orange building which is the Arena de Barcelona. Don't forget to validate your ticket on the bus. The validation gives you 75 mins and so you can use it again on the continuing journey to the airport. Walk straight ahead, 2 mins to the front of the Arena and you will see a bus shelter almost in front of the building. Here you can now pick up bus # 46 which is the bus that goes to the airport. (remember you use the same ticket from bus #27) It stops first at Terminal 2. You will also see many Blue Aerobuses around the roundabout, but by taking the local #46 you save some money. This bus takes about 8 mins more than the Aerobus They both go to the same stops at the Airport. Oh, you can also pick up the Aerobus at PL. Catalunya.

Fyi, at PL. Espanya is where you also get off to see the Magic Fountain which is in the direction of the two tall towers. Behind the fountain is the Museum which is free on Saturdays and Sundays from 3pm. At the back of the Museum you can walk to the Olympic Stadium.
If too tired to walk back down to PL. Espanya, cross the street from the Stadium and take bus
#150 which goes to PL. Espanya.

The hotel is about a 10 minute bus ride to La Rambla. You can get off right at Playa Catalunya You will know when you are there when you see the hugh El Corte Ingles store at the Playa Catalunya roundabout. At one of the corners is the start of La Rambla. To get there from the Hotel you have to go right on Travessera de Gracia until you get to Calvet St. It is about 3 streets over from Santalo, make a right on Calvet, cross the street and look for the bus stop, take #14.

Now, if you are coming off a cruise ship, you can take the Blue shuttle bus, which comes right to the Port and cost 2E one way and 3E return. Buy ticket right on the bus. This takes you to the Christopher Columbus Column called Mirador de Colom. This is at the foot of La Rambla. From around here you can take bus #14 to the Hotel and it literally takes you to the door of the
hotel. To get bus #14, walk to the right of the Column by the Palm trees and look for the bus shelter where #14 would be. Or you can walk up La Rambla until you see the #14 stop on the right side of the street an take the bus there. It is a much longer walk this way. You can buy the ticket on the bus for 2.15E each. #14 goes up La Rambla, takes a few turns, then it goes up Cassonova. After it passes Cassonova & Av. Diagona stop the next stop is the Hotel. At the corner of Cassonova and Travessera de Gracia the bus takes a right, then a quick left onto Santalo and that is your stop, right in front of the Hotel. It is called the Santalo-Trav. de Gracia stop.

Hopes this helps.

My husband I stayed at the Zenit Barcelona for four nights over Xmas 23 - 27 Dec 2006. The hotel itself was nice and modern with a nice bar area and restaurant. We booked through Booking.com and they had a special offer on that meant we had breakfast included. The breakfast buffet was really good, it included cereal, fruit, Spanish meats, tortilla, bacon & eggs and some really nice pastries. The waiting staff where really nice and friendly, spoke excellent English and even attempted to help us with our Spanish which is a work in progress. The room was nicely decorated, very quiet and had excellent climate control. My only criticism would be that it was a little on the small side and I suspect that it was probably a room that was meant as a double for single use. It didn't matter that much though because we were hardly ever there.

A previous guest reviewed that it was to far from the centre but we found the public transport that served the area to be really good even on Xmas and Boxing Day. Getting to the hotel from town, you can catch the number 14 bus from Catalunya square, just outside the El Corte Ingles. The bus stop is right outside the hotel. To go into the centre you can walk over two blocks to Calle de Calvet and catch the 14, this bus even goes down Las Ramblas, to Barceloneta and to the Cituadella Park. Alternatively there are two buses that travel town Calle de Muntaner. You can also walk up Santalo and catch the FGC to Catalunya Square.

We bought the 5 day metro, train and bus pas which cost €20 each although I think I would be tempted to get the T10 ticket next time which allows you ten journeys and only costs €6.00.

Sophie M wrote a review May 2018
My friend and I booked a visit to Barcelona for 4 nights and chose to pay extra for a 4star hotel, which had good reviews - Zenit Barcelona. We had a really good trip and the hotel itself provides all you need for an adequate stay in the city. I wouldn’t say it was a 4 star though, as it didn’t provide tea and coffee making facilities and the furniture was run down. I must also note that the restaurant is only open on weekdays, so if visiting on the weekend there is no option to dine in or use room service.

On our last night after returning from a day out, when getting ready for our evening meal we came to realise that in total 4 of our make up items were missing. After turning our cases upside down, and searching the bins and furniture we realised that it had been stolen. We hadn’t had a problem any other day and our make up was kept in our bags in the bathroom the whole trip.

A ‘maid’ searched through our belongings and stole what took her fancy, totalling in money over £50. All our other items, such as money and passport were locked in a safe but I have never considered needed to lock my make up away.

After confronting the staff we were told they would speak to the manager. We were then informed that the ‘maid’ who had cleaned our rooms had stated she hadn’t taken anything and that was that. They had to ‘trust her word’. It clearly states in their policy that they take “full responsibility for items missing of up to €300/£300” yet they were not even admitting to it, let alone apologising.

I was disgusted by the way it was handled, and yes it is only make up and it can be replaced but the matter of fact is that our belongings were stolen by their thieving staff and they did nothing to amend it.

For this reason I urge any further customers that choose this hotel, do so but lock away EVERYTHING!
