For us the location was perfect ( just inside the Gothic Quarter ) . There was an abundance of restaurants and bars all very affordable and the Rambles was just 10 mins walk away .The hop on hop of bus stop was just 25 metres away .The hotel was small but perfectly formed , the rooms and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. We found the staff to be very helpful especially Bryan who was very patient with us going out of his way with advice .

At the 5th time of asking we finally managed to get a 4 night break at the Suizo. The reservation team were extremely helpful over the last 18 months to rearrange dates of stay - thank you! The hotel holds an excellent location on the edge of the Gothic quarter, close to the cathedral, Las Ramblas, Place de Catalunya and has the Jaume I Metro station right outside. Checking in was easy and straightforward - don't forget you need to pay the city tax in cash - and we were in the room in 5 minutes. We were a party of 3 adults and had a 4th floor room on the side of the hotel. The room was clean and very spacious with a proper bed for the 3rd person. There were plenty plugs for recharging devices right by the beds. There is a large wardrobe that contains a fridge but oddly there were no drawers. No big deal. The bathroom was fairly large with a waterfall shower in a bath. Very nice. There were a couple of French doors which opened on to Juliet balconies overlooking the street. You're quite close to the building opposite which makes for interesting viewing on occasion... Breakfast was 7 till 10.30 and consists of pastries, cakes, meats/cheese, fruit, toast, eggs (boiled & scrambled) and thin bacon. More than enough. We were given a glove to wear when at the buffet to avoid any contamination on utensils. The view of the Plaza was great to people watch for 15 mins in the morning. Housekeeping came daily and kept the room clean. Only downside was the air con being a bit smelly but once the windows were opened it soon went. Barca is a lively city that comes alive at night so expect a bit of street noise going on late into the night especially at weekends. We also has a couple of marches pass by but without incident but exciting to view. Plenty of eateries near by so you won't want for choice. Las Ramblas about 3/4 mile and the beach area about a mile on foot. Got out to see the Sagrada Familia which has amazing colours inside, Camp Nou for a tour and the museum and a night experience at Casa Mila which had amazing views. If you're looking for a decent base to explore Barcelona then you'd do well to find a better 3* than Hotel Suizo for price and quality.

Great hotel in the ideal location to explore Barcelona. We arrived in Barcelona late morning, we were unable to check in straight away but we were able to leave our luggage in a secure holding room in reception. The rooms were small but spotless and modern, we were located on the first floor and had a room overlooking a busy side street, the balcony doors were double glazed so there was no noise issues whilst sleeping. We had fresh towels every day during our stay and our bed made by the wonderful housekeepers. The young man on reception whose name we didn’t catch was very friendly and helpful, he would always go out of his way to say hello when we were passing by and was also very informative on giving information on the area and any queries we had. The reception team would also be happy to call a taxi to the hotel if needed. All of the tourists spots were also close by to the hotel, La Rambla was only a 10 minute walk away and the same distance to the beach / port. I would highly recommend this hotel to any tourists who are looking for a clean and comfortable hotel to stay in whilst visiting Barcelona!

The hotel was very good, easy to find, comfortable and quiet. However the package we booked with TripMasters was a disaster. For our transfer from Madrid to Barcelona ( a 3 hour train ride), they booked us on a 13 hour plane trip through London Heathrow Airport. I'm not kidding, we had to fly from Madrid to London, and London to Barcelona. An entire day was wasted of our 6 day trip. TripMasters would not let us change our itinerary, they threatened to cancel our return flight to the US if we took a train to Barcelona on our own. Moral of the story: Never book a tour package with TripMasters, they are the worst travel company on the planet.

I made a reservation with free cancellation until today and because my flight was postponed I wanted to change the dates of my accommodation. A lady working in the reservations department told me TWICE that I can do that but I have to contact booking.com first where I did my reservation. Booking said that it was the lady’s fault to confirm me a possible change of dates and it can be not done. I called the hotel and tell them the situation and a lady with super POOR English level told me “it’s not their fault” and talk with booking again. Both parties are blaming each other and none cares that they deal with a customer who paid the WHOLE amount already and can not even go there at all. My reservation shows that until today I can change it for free with only the difference of room price of the new dates. I’m very disappointed with both companies when it comes to their level of customer service and their quality!!!

Hotel Suizo in the heart of the Gothic Quarter was perfect for our stay. A Metro stop was right out the front door, close to many places to eat and five minutes form the Barcelona Cathedral. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating when we had need of extra pillows, or simple directions. Nice buffet breakfast. We split our stay with a trip to Malta and were able to leave a suitcase since we were coming back.

We have just returned home after a 4 night stay with our 1 year old, first of all the rooms were spotless clean but very small but was fine as we were out exploring for the most part, breakfast was okay (im not really a breakfast person) but my partner liked it, hotel staff were lovely, even remembered us one night to give us our transfer details which was nice. Hotel is located great, very close to local attractions, we walked 40 minutes to the Sagrada Famillia and around 15 minutes to the zoo (which we would deffos reccommend) and literally round the corner from the Cathedral of Barcelona. Only 2 downsides I have is that it was 15€ per night for a cot which totalled 60€ for our 4 nights which we thought was very expensive (but had to be done) and that our air con wasnt working so the room was so humid and couldnt keep the doors open as there was a strong scent of cannabis (possibly from the next room over) Overall we would reccommend this hotel to others as we did really enjoy our stay whilst in Barcelona ☺️

Hotel Suizo was a great choice for our family of 4 (two are teens) traveling for spring break.
We opted for the family room with two single beds and one double and, while the room wouldn’t be considered spacious, we had enough space for our needs. Note that we travel light, so if each person in your group has multiple suitcases, you may be a little cramped. I’m adding a couple of pictures of the family room layout because I couldn’t find any others on here when I was looking before our trip.
The bathroom was a little larger than most European bathrooms I’ve had. It was basic, but very clean and modern.
The French balcony is a great addition, and our room had two of them. We were on an upper floor of the south side of the hotel, and it was a little noisy at night. The street on the north side would have been quieter. At the end of a long day of exploring, the noise didn’t really bother us, though.
The location was perfect for us. The front door is maybe 30 feet from the Metro entrance which was nice because we arrived from Madrid by train and just connected from the train station to the stop at the hotel.
Being in the Gothic Quarter, you’re surrounded by cafes, shops, and restaurants. Barcelona Cathedral (not Sagrada Familia) is a 5 minute walk and La Rambla is about the same.
Breakfast was a typical European breakfast buffet, and the quality was good. The service at breakfast was a little cool, but the rest of the staff—especially Roger and the guys at the front desk—were always friendly and we enjoyed seeing them when we came and went.
In short, Hotel Suizo was a great choice for our family.

Had a wonderful long weekend in Barcelona, not only did I fall in love with the City, but I can’t recommend the hotel enough. Perfect for a city break, Hotel Suizo is not only in a great location, is very clean, good food, and the staff can’t do enough for you. From the cleaners, to the extremely helpful young men on reception, nothing was too much trouble. I’d recommend to all.
