I've recently returned from a 3 night stay in Barcelona. CoolRooms Malda is a great hotel. We stayed in a Grand Deluxe room and honestly think the room, hotel, staff experience give much more than the price suggests.
The room and hotel in general is quiet, clean, spacious and quite luxurious. Gives you what you need and more for a city break. They don't offer breakfast but with so many bars and cafes nearby, and the Mercado de La Boqueria a less than 5 minute walkaway, why would you need a hotel breakfast.
Truly wonderful - would recommend this hotel time and time again.
The room and hotel in general is quiet, clean, spacious and quite luxurious. Gives you what you need and more for a city break. They don't offer breakfast but with so many bars and cafes nearby, and the Mercado de La Boqueria a less than 5 minute walkaway, why would you need a hotel breakfast.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights as we traveled Barcelona and Madrid. The room was kind of small but perfect for what we needed: TV, heat/AC, WiFi, large bathroom. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.

We stayed three nights and an extra the week after. Nice and friendly staff and kind of a secret hidden location. Inside the hotel is quiet and the rooms are clean and nice. There is a roof top were you can sit and meditate over a glass of wine. You are in the middle of the city, walking distance from many places and still it is far from cars noise and people. We loved this hotel. Only negative is lack of breakfast.

I loved this hotel. Upon entering we were offered a glass of Cava or flavored water. Staff treated us great and were there always to give recommendations and any assistance. I was welcomed with a hand written note and a chocolate bar as I entered our room, which was clean and modern. Loved the shower head! The location was great and convenient to a lot of neighborhoods and sites. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Coolrooms Malda. It’s centrally located, clean, and nicely decorated. Our room had a handwritten welcome and a local chocolate bar. Robes and slippers were provided. The staff is accommodating and helpful, they gave us a map and identified the areas of interest and well as good areas to eat. We absolutely would stay again and have already recommended it to two different friends who are going to Barcelona later this fall.

Initially hard to find but when we did we loved it. Great check in experience, really clean, free water (why don’t more places do this), and super location for everything

We really loved everything about this hotel but one thing let it down for us. If you are in room 1 or 2 you can hear the conversation of everyone coming into or out of the lift at all times of day and night. If there is someone engaged in a slightly louder than average conversation in reception you can hear that too. A chap turned up late after a flight and was chatting to the person at the desk for a long time and continued it all the way to the lift. The noise that can be heard in these rooms needs attention as it really affected our sleep. Felt shattered by the end

I was warmly welcomed at reception and was offered a tablet with a hotel Netflix account for personalised entertainment, which easily synced to the tv. This is but one example of the organisation and warmth I experienced during my stay. The room itself was most comfortable, the bed and bathroom very luxurious. I highly recommend CoolRooms Malda!

What an absolutely fabulous boutique hotel in the heart of the Gothic quarter.
Our 30th wedding anniversary was made so special by Juan Pablo. He met all our travel requests with ease, he even arranged the hire of a wheelchair for us.
The special touches made all the difference, such as a handwritten welcome note and chocolate. The bottle of chilled cava on the roof terrace was a beautiful touch too.
We will certainly recommend this hotel, keep giving such great customer service, it truly is appreciated. Xx

Great location, off Las Ramblas but hard to find to begin with as the entrance is located in a mall with several entrances. Room was compact but comfortable and had everything we needed. Great toiletries, complimentary water. Concierge was extremely helpful and gave a great recommendation for tapas

I would have given this place 5 stars except for some minor details which still bothered me. Overall, the place was fabulous, good location, the rooms were large, my room was quiet facing the courtyard, it was extremely clean, the double sized bed was very comfortable, they gave you slippers and robe which was unexpected, staff was friendly and helpful, service was good, the mini-bar was well stocked, excellent toiletries, small fridge in room and a safe. The things I didn't like were no one told me there was a code to the elevator --so when we arrived, we couldn't get in for a long time and walked up steep steps with luggage and still couldn't get in until we found someone to call as our phones were not working. Also no one mentioned the code to the outside gate which was locked after 10 pm or so, we had a similar fiasco one night trying to get inside. There was only one tiny garbage can under the bathroom sink which was too small for my taste and there should have been another one as well. I felt there was not enough counter space to put things down on, nor were there enough drawers to put things in, nor a luggage rack. I ended up leaving my suitcase in the closet and taking clothes out of it from there. They could have placed a small dresser against one wall, or at the very least a luggage rack. Despite these things, I definitely would return here again.
