We stayed at Room Mate Emma for 4 nights and found the location superb. We were there during the protests and didn’t hear or see a thing – in fact we had a wonderful night’s sleep.
Importantly, the staff at the hotel and very helpful and welcoming.
Our room was on the 4th floor and faced the street (superior room 402). It was comfortable and spacious for European standards. We were able to place and keep opened 2 large and 2 small suitcases on the floor without bumping into them.
The bathroom was practical, the shower had great pressure and really hot water which was fantastic. No water leaked from the walk in shower. The bed was comfortable and there is a choice of low or high pillows. We overlooked the street and whilst you can hear the rumble of the metro and large vehicles going past, these sounds didn’t disturb our sleep at all.
Breakfast was great – there is everything you could wish for…scrambled eggs (cannot order other types of eggs), breads, condiments, cold meats, cheeses, fruit, yoghurt, a variety of pastries and of course coffees, tes and hot chocolate.
The lifts are quick. The taxi rank is just outside the hotel and the orange line metro station Provenca is a block away and station Diagonal with lines lL3 and L5 is a 5 minute stroll away.
It was a pleasure to stay there.

I returned to this hotel after nearly 2 years due to covid. I must say they have kept hiring extremely attentive people that truly cares about the customer's experience.
Due to some initial issues in my room I got an upgrade to a more spacious and lightening room. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was immaculate the 3 nights I was there.
The location is hard to beat, they are close to everything, yet calm enough and full of good restaurants around. Paseo de Gracia is only a few blocks away as well as the metro. Taxis have a permanent stop right at the hotel entrance.
I liked to see the hotel is taking care of the environment, no plastic caps, neither bags for the laundry, they had replaced them for paper ones. They care about the food waste too by doing a la cart hot dish for breakfast. Here there is room for improvements, i found the breakfast a bit poor and there was not gluten free options. If a la cart is the way, there should be more wider selection.
I would definitely go back, specially for the staff that was so helpful and kind. Olga, Luciana and the guy covering the morning shift made a great impact on my stay =)

Enjoyed my stay at Allegro Barcelona and would stay again. My room on the 4th floor was great and I was kindly offered an upgrade at no extra cost when I arrived by the friendly Reception staff! Very convenient location for a place to stay for my work trip. Wifi is good in the room. Only down side was the corridor noises were quite loud from people returning to their rooms at 2am! Nice hotel located in a good position, near everything. Easily by walk can get to good restaurants, las Ramblas, the metro, and various areas of Barcelona. The hotel has the 9th floor but I was located on the 2nd floor, it was good but the view from the window was just a wall and a really small piece of sky. Nevertheless, I had 2 rooms, one triple and one double. They were quiet and nice. The triple had the bath and the bidet instead of the double that had the shower and just the toilet. The room also includes the a/c and speakers all around the room, it's possible to connect with Bluetooth to the phone. The design is elegant and bright. The staff is nice, especially the curly girl at the reception. I had some problems during the check-in, but they managed to assist me in a good way, however, I was not so happy. On my birthday, I found 2 cupcakes with candles and an amenity card wishing "happy birthday". The aspect to improve is cleaning the room and more attention to the guest. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my stay in Barcelona.

Dont pay up front - hotel check was delayed and the staff utterly rude. Would have gone and paid rack rate elsewhere if I had been able to. Hotel is a converted office block - room not finished - a minimum effort conversion for a very high price. Its a con.

Great neighborhood, right next to the metro and the bus station. The room was extremely well taken care of and very clean, there was enough space and a comfy bed as well as a very clean bathroom. The staff was also very friendly and more than welcome to help with anything we needed.

I chose to stay at this hotel following an incredible stay at the Barceló Granada, however this is sadly not of the same standard. The staff are generally good and the room was clean but for a deluxe I expected a bit more space and there were none of the extras that I’d received in Granada except for the two bottles of complimentary water on arrival which were welcomed. The biggest issue is the noise from the streets, if you are a light sleeper you will need ear plugs ( which they should provide complimentary) or ask for a room away from the street. When I checked out I was given a discount to use if I stayed again and although that was a nice touch a 10% discount when I’ve had 3 terrible nights sleep probably isn’t going to tempt me back 🙁.

The worst hotel we have experience with in the last 40 years! Wish I could leave negative review
My reservation was through booking.com - cancellable till date of stay and no prepayment.
I found out the hotel had charged my card for the full amount 2 months before the stay. After repeated attempts to contact the hotel through booking.com (calling and talking to personnel) and on my own through emails, there was no response from the hotel. The hotel staff said that only manager, Cristina, can decide but she was never at the hotel. After repeated attempts, including waking up at 4 am my time to get booking.com to call Cristina (10 am her time) she was still not available and did not respond at all.
Finally I canceled my booking through booking.com and reserved another hotel.
When I filed a dispute through my credit card company allegro Barcelona responded that the booking was non refundable, attaching the actual booking papers which show that there is no prepayment and it is cancelable until date of stay.
I am still waiting for the resolution.

Nice hotel for decant price , I really like the location there are a lot of outlets, restaurants and bars around , around 200meters to public transport stop and about 25-30 min walk to downtown... Friendly stuff, they let us check in couple of hours earlier than it supposed to be . Recommend

I was a bit apprehensive about staying here as it was quiet a bit cheaper than a lot of the ‘nicer’ hotels and didn’t have many reviews - firstly please don’t put the price up though Barcelo to match comparable hotels!!
As soon as we arrived we were put at ease though. Xavier was incredibly helpful when he checked us in and our room was lovely (we had a terrace room on the 8th floor). It was clean, comfortable and very quiet. As you would expect with a hotel in central Barcelona, the rooms weren’t massive, but we were only really there to sleep, so it was absolutely fine for 4 nights.
It’s central enough to be within a walk of places like Plaça de España and Las Ramblas, but not right in the middle of all of the noise! There are some great places for a quick breakfast nearby and nice restaurants for the evening. It’s also five minutes from the metro.
We will definitely stay here again - so please don’t put the prices up to match similar hotels!!!
