Nestled in a coveted location, Le Negresco garners accolades for its stunning views and easy access to local attractions and beaches. Guests revel in the luxurious ambiance and comprehensive amenities, although suggestions for a gym upgrade and spa enhancements arise occasionally. While the hotel's opulence comes with a higher price tag, many find the attentive service and immaculate cleanliness throughout the property justify the cost. The rooms' blend of classic and contemporary styles impresses, though there is a mention of occasional noise. Despite rare instances of service inconsistency, the hotel's rich, historical elegance combined with modern comforts makes it a favorite.

In decades of travel, this is easily the finest hotel in which my wife and I have ever stayed. Near-perfection. We rarely re-visit places, as we love to explore new locales; this hotel is so nice that we would consider a return in part due to how great Le Negresco was!

We’ve booked our room directly with Negresco Hotel on the same day we intended to stay.

During weekdays and off-season, we got a real good deal with our breakfasts included.
Not only is it a mythic property, it is still fully independent and a top location on the French Riviera.

Parking was super easy with the help of bellboys dressed in traditional ‘Cocher’ uniform, and without any extra fees. We loved that first contact with those carrying the memory & the image of the property.
The corridors and rooms throughout the Hotel make you feel like walking in a private museum.

Everyone working there is doing it with a total discretion. Although it is an old building, modernity and eco-responsibility are perceptible and tangible. For instance, we had to call for a toothbrush and room-service was efficient. It was the same when ordering at the Bar specialty cocktails such as ‘Le Negresco”.
So far it is probably the best property I stayed ever. Some would say that rooms could have more modern features but it was that authentic touch from the 30’s and 60’s that we were searching for.

Do not hesitate to ask to be seated on the terrace for breakfast for a true feel of the city’s vibes.

Dear Felix D, Reviews like this go a long way toward not only making our profession significantly more rewarding but also immensely improving the reputation of our hotel, so please believe us when we say we really can not express the scale of our gratitude. We are honored to be quoted as the “One of the best hotels ever in this world” and very pleased to hear that you enjoyed all our services. Your wonderful experience here is exactly what we aspire to deliver. Moreover, we would like to thank you for your special mention about our dedicated staff and for your special note about our bellboys dressed in copies of French uniforms worn by staff employed in the grand households during the XVIII and XIX centuries. Likewise we are truly happy to read how much you enjoyed the "Royal Negresco" cocktail created by our past head barman in 1957. We look forward to welcoming you back and we want to assure you that we all do the best in order to make your next visit even more enjoyable. Most sincerely, Lionel SERVANT General Manager

So happy to have been able to stay 3 days at the legendary beautifully decorated Negresco, a museum and a gallery of 6000 internationally renowned works of art, (contemporary and classic) listed as a historical monument.

The personnel is very friendly and obliging.
The food is excellent.
The location is ideal just across the beach on the so famous "Promenade des Anglais ".
The hotel, with each bedroom (125 and 6 suites) decorated differently, is a must.
The "psychedelic" carpets in the corridors, well, either you hate them, or else you love them.

However, strict hygiene measures due to Covid mean that one can no longer expect what was the norm before, i.e; buffet breakfast, room directories, tea and coffee facilities or mini bar and with the green “Ecolabel” certification, there are no longer little bottles of shampoo, body wash etc (to take home as a souvenir) but dispensers fixed to the walls with luxury Lalique products. And of course, your mask must be worn at all times when in the communal areas of the hotel.

Loved the quaint lift, beautiful. There's a similar one in Claridges in London and when we went there a few years back, there was a delightful "lift man" who actually worked the lift for you. And a bench too!

Our room was bright and big but the shower was small and narrow. The washbasin was extremely low and a nuisance for my husband who is over 6' tall.

There are 2 mini bottles of Evian upon arrival, and any extra water must be purchased through room service.

Slippers, bathrobes, hairdryer and a safe are provided, as one would expect from this type of hotel.

There is no car park but the car valet will park (and return) your car. 28€/24h but I think if you have a suite, this is free.

We had the occasion to have been shown the lovely Napoleon Junior Suite, favourite of the recently deceased owner, Mrs Augier, I was told. But as not in the same price league as our 4th floor “Exclusive” room, (with a beautiful partial sea view) I was happy to have been shown it nonetheless, knowing that I wouldn’t be staying there.

Dear Christine B, We appreciate your comments regarding your stay at the Negresco hotel and hope you had a smooth journey back home. Thank you for your kind comments about our historical property. We are so pleased you enjoyed the facilities, your "exclusive" room and our enviable central location a few steps away front the city center. Reviews like yours are a true testament to our sincere efforts of providing seamless services from the time you arrive until you unfortunately had to depart. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed discovering the history of the Negresco, symbol of the sea side of Nice since the grand opening in 1913. The renowned dutch architect Edouard Niermans designed the whole property in 1913. Among his numerous achievements we can mention the Moulin Rouge in Paris (1903), the fine chocolate shop Kohler in Moscou (1907) and the hotel de Paris in Monaco (1908-1910). Our bellboys are dressed in copies of uniforms worn by staff employed in the grand households during the XVIII and XIX centuries. Often qualified as a “museum”, the private art collection of our past owner, Madame Augier, make you travel through centuries. The diversity of this collection by its subjects, techniques and the periods represented might, understandably, appear heterogeneous to some. However, one must bear in mind that there is a connecting thread; a French owner’s pride in sharing her works of art of national artistic genius with her international guests. The two major centers of attraction are a magnificent collection of (mostly XVI century) royal portraits and a contemporary collection which testifies to her admiration and support of today’s artists. We are truly happy to know that the staff at the Negresco play a major role in the success of your stay. Our team is our greatest strength and your appreciation will encourage our staff members to do even better. The team and I look foward to your return visit in the nearby future. Sincerely yours, Lionel SERVANT General Manager

I am Italian but I work in a hotel in Antibes and since I was a child I have been a passionate of Hôtels. I have been collecting hotel brochures for 30 years. When I was young I used to phone hotels to ask their brochure to be sent. I still remember when the brochure of the Negresco arrived. It was big and beautiful. There was a list of the celebrities that stayed there. The last one was Walt Disney and this added magic on it. I would never think I would stay here one day. BUT! My wife loves the Negresco. We went several times to the bar and at La Rotonde. So for Christmas I offered her a little stay. It was beautiful. The Negresco is one of those hotels that have become the symbol of their town, the only place to stay if you want to live the history, the culture, the soul of a destination. And it is definitely all that. Of course it is not as “perfect” as the modern aseptic hotels. But it offers such a special atmosphere! From the moment we arrived we were taken care by a professional yet friendly staff. Special prize for Carolina at the concierge desk! The room had clearly been recently refurbished. Still unique and “eccentric” as you would expect but super comfortable. What a view! Breakfast was of international standard and served in the newly redecorated La Rotonda. And the drinks in the bar in the evening were excellent with a talented guitarist. It should be a present for her but it was a pleasure for both!

Definately recommend this hotel. The hotel offers excellent service and very spacious rooms looking at Promenade des Anglais. The food at the hotel is very good and breakfast too - although I do recommend to order a la carte in stead of the buffet if you are a foodie it is much worth it. It is the most emblematic building in the French Riviera and The Chantecler its michelin star restaurant is fabulous. Cleaning of the rooms is very good , efficient and fast.
My only recommendation would be to solicit a renovated room and it is worth paying extra and guaranteeing the sea view. All the rooms at the hotel are different from one another.

We had a lovely stay at the Negresco. The entire experience was exceptional from the moment we arrived until we left. The hotel itself is a museum with incredibly attentive and professional staff ready to improve your experience. We received excellent recommendations on what to do, where to eat, and then assistance with reserving helicopter tours, motorcycle rentals, and restaurants.

The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms were very quiet, the decor was beautiful, and everything worked well inside the rooms (bathroom fixtures, lights, drawers, windows, etc.)

I would highly recommend a stay here.

We travel a fair amount and this was one of the best experiences we've ever had. From the minute we walked in, we were amazed. And the amazement never stopped.

First, the hotel itself is stunning with it's 6000+ pieces of art. The men's shop had great clothes with surprising affordability. Since this was our first time to Nice, we relied heavily on the concierge and what a fantastic experience that was. They match our desires with perfect recommendations. They found reservations we couldn't get for ourselves. They handled all our requests with eagerness and big smiles and great knowledge.

We stayed in room 520 and it was a stunner; perfectly prepared for our arrival as requested with roses, a bottle of perfectly chilled Duetz Champagne and a bit of nibble bits to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. We loved our beach view too with open windows to the beach below. However, as with most busy beaches, there is non-stop activity and traffic, so if you want a quiet room to enjoy, please consider that beach front views from any hotel along the entire Promenade des Anglais are going to be a little noisy. But that wouldn't stop us from revisiting this hotel.

Room service was efficient but the "hot" food was often a little bit on the cool side for our tastes. Dinner one night was actually too cold. We didn't complain but probably should have mentioned it. We had breakfast several times in our room near our balcony to watch the morning come alive. Ask for HOT coffee is that's how you like it.

Dining at La Rotonde was a very special experience. Excellent table service and the food was incredible. Probably one of the best filet mignon's we've ever tasted. La Rotonde really provided such a great experience and made celebrating a 50th birthday very special.

For our next visit to Nice, we're already looking forward to our stay at Le Negresco.

The hotel is just Magnifique. The breakfast is superb, fresh, good and top quality. The rooms are cozy, modern-art but still classy.
The location is just ridiculous, it is 200 yards from the beach, you can even book your sunbed at the hotel.
We meet a very nice Concierge in the lobby, Karim, he helped us with all the bags, and later he recommended some great trips as well as some great restaurants, thank you.

Le Negresco is a magnificent, legendary hotel that definitely lives up to its impressive history, reputation and membership of the Leading hotels in the world. It felt like we were guests in a palace.

It’s history is engrained with that of Nice and a visit is not complete without a stay here.
The foyer and main floor are a treat for the senses with its period decor and artwork. Their Versailles bar has an oversized stone fireplace and continues with the period decor, you also enjoy a cool sea breeze in the warmer months. Their art collection & history is impressive, and each floor is decorated in a different theme. The addition of La Plage beach lounge and facilities have made this the perfect Nice beach front location.
We stayed for 5 nights and utilized all their restaurants and beach facilities. Staff are welcoming, friendly, multi-lingual and go out of their way to assist. Upon check in we were also given a brief history of the hotel whilst being shown around the main floor and to our room. The room was large, beds were very comfortable and bathrooms came with all the luxuries you would expect from this class of hotel. The night prior to check out the duty manager sent a bottle of champagne & chocolates to our room, and on the day of church our sought us out to ask about our stay - thank you Louie! They treat all guests as VIP’s.

Their Michelin star hotel ‘Le Chantecler’ has 18th century decor & delivers impeccable silver service. We chose the surprise 8 course degustation menu which was a gastronomic delight. A true feast for the senses which highlights fresh, local produce.

La Rotonde is their brassiere, and greets you with a warm and welcoming ambiance. We enjoyed both their buffet and off the menu breakfast as well as dinner on several nights. The dinner piano player’s selection of music and genuine joy for playing make the experience all the more serene. The food quality is excellent, as is the service.

La Plage is their beach club with beach front sun beds, and a deck lounge & lunch area. This feels like your staying in a secluded resort with tastefully chosen decor & greenery, and service to your sun beds. We can definitely recommend their cocktails, mocktails, fresh oysters, artisan Italian gelato, truffle focaccia and fruit platters. An inviting experience that allows you to soak in the coastline and then relax in the warm Mediterranean waters in 5 star comfort.

Location is a 10/10 - you seriously cannot get any better in Nice! Beach front; a leisurely walk to old town, shopping, fresh food markets, restaurants, the port of Nice, to ‘Castel’, the train station, trams and a short drive to the airport.

The most difficult part of the Le Negresco experience is leaving….

Old glamour and opulence, amazing incredible team / front of house staff and concierge / reception were all superb. All the maids were great. We were treated amazing on the first day and it got better and better as the relationship built over the 10 days we stayed. Nothing was a too big task to ask. The concierge were spectacular and booking the vets for us and restaurants wasn’t an issue at all. We gave them a list, and they booked them for us and gave back an itinerary. Perfection. Even got us in the Colombe D'or for lunch.

Incredible art to look. It was basically like sleeping in a glamorous art museum with a 2 Michelin star restaurant. Breakfast was superb once we got to know how it worked.

We had 3 small dogs (hypoallergenic) and they were allowed anywhere in the hotel. Even the Michelin star restaurants.

Every floor was conceptually different, and glorious to see.

Our room was huge and very spacious, spectacular view over the ocean and up the promenade des anglais, we had a lovely balcony and huge bathroom. The eclectic furniture gave it a character all of its own. Unlike many hotels which are furnished exactly the same. Our friend was staying on the same floor in another room and it was decorated in completely different manner but still gorgeous, it's in own right.

We will 100% we will come back.
