The Colline du Château is the crown gem of Nice in my opinion. It provides some of the best views of the entirety of Nice and its towns, as well as its coastline. Depending on what time you visit, the crowdedness can vary. However, you will never feel like you there is one path you have to stick to when visiting as there are different routes you can explore upon in your climb towards the top of the Château. I would personally recommend going as early as possible to visit as there tends to be less visitors or if you are coming during the Autumn or Winter seasons, to go during the evening as you watch the sun set upon Nice. There is nothing to fault when visiting Colline du Château and thus it truly is a perfect site to visit.

We so enjoyed our walking tour through Old Town. Like other ancient European cities, the Old Town area of Nice is extremely charming. The winding and narrow streets, lack of motorized vehicles, and the plethora of family owned restaurants and shops create a unique atmosphere. Be sure and spend a few hours here if you can.

We spent 5 lovely days in Nice, sightseeing, walking, eating and visiting nearby places, at the start of July 2024.

Also, we got the train to Monaco and a bus to Eze, both places I highly recommend you visit.

I had 2 teenagers with me and they really enjoyed our E-Bike tour of Nice, Monaco, Eze, the food, and the watersports at the beach.

Ensure you take good walking shoes, sun cream and your camera as the views are stunning.

I regularly used this as a landmark when walking between old town and Nice Ville. There are occasionally street entertainers working here, I seen a fabulous piano player who played beautiful music.

Wonderful artworks, nice garden area to sit and have a coffee, would definitely go again. Some of the information on Chagall is in English as well.

We visit this market every year when we’re in Nice. It’s not just flowers. It’s produce, cheeses, pastries, meats, products native to the area such as soaps, herbs, and spices. I provided a number of photos to show the variety of products that vendors have on sale at this almost daily market. Don’t miss it.

Cathédrale Saint-Nicolas in Nice is a Russian Orthodox cathedral with beautiful architecture and vibrant colors⛪️. It is really impressive, offering peaceful moments 🌿when you are there. 🐰The surrounding gardens have rabbits walking around, which is so lovely.

We bought the four day museum pass for 15 Euro and visited Musee Matisse, MAMAC and on our last day also Musee Massena. This museum this summer - on the top floor - has an interesting special exhibition with works by Emanuel Costa. 100 years ago he was perhaps the most popular painter in the Nice area and among other he painted the ceiling in Opera de Nice.

Whilst venturing around Nice, waiting for our tram into Nice Port, we always saw this rather unappealing, dirty looking, odd shaped glass building. Upon checking, it was home to tropical plants and quite a few animals.

We had a few hours to kill one morning, so we took the opportunity to venture inside and see what it's all about. The entrance fee was really reasonable €5.00 for adults..... In fairness, the place looked better inside, and then it did on the outside. Maybe a decent clean of the glass and more appropriate signage wouldn't go a miss. The place was really big inside the glass house itself, lots or exotic and tropical plants, fascinating to see them growing.

There was a large outdoor area, home to a variety of animals. There are lots of walkways, all on a flat surface, lots of benches, numerous toilets, and a medium-sized cafe bar serving a small selection of hot and cold snacks. I would say it's great to bring your own food and have a picnic in its vast grounds. The kids would love it as so educational.
We personally found it killed a few hours, well worth a visit, got some lovely photos.

Pebbly beach but it was lovely. Travelled in October and water was lovely. There's steps leading to beach and plenty of room for everyone.

I’ve always loved walking along here, at one end is the central train station, and if you follow it all the way down it takes you well on your way to reaching the promenade des Anglais

Very nice welcome. Our table was beautifully presented and unlike other beach bars a high chair was provided. All our starters and main courses were delicious. Unfortunately our experience was dampened after our desserts arrived. They were scrumptious and good portions however Nougat Glacé contained a lot of alcohol which wasn't mentioned on the menu. It was extremely important as one of our guest couldn't drink alcohol. The manager on duty tried to say that the dessert in question didn't contain any alcohol. After some period of time she came back to our table to tell us that the dessert in fact did contain "a little bit" of alcohol. There was no apology and furthermore she laughed that it was good for us. It's unacceptable coming from a manager.
