Detailed Reviews

I arrived in the last week of August and had to stay in town for work. In spite of the pandemic challenges in the world, Katherine had everything running like a top. Sanitizer, cleaners, policy and procedures all clearly explained and described.

The home is beautiful and I couldn't help but think about all of the stories and people that have lived or experienced this home. And now, my story is one of them.

The bathrooms are convenient and close, very well kept top to bottom and the rooms are loaded with character and comfort. The bed was very comfortable.

Katherine was also very kind to check in on me by text and ask if I needed anything. If you're in the area, I would strongly recommend this experience. Because, it really is not just a place to stay, it will be part of your experience when you visit the Bancroft area.

We arrived in Bancroft after several hours of motorcycling through windstorms and poring rain completely soaked and cold. Kathryn, the owner gave us a very warm welcome and took very good care of us balancing out the fact that there was no electricity anywhere in Bancroft. The B&B is very nice, warm, conformable and spotless! Our room was very nice and quiet. We both got a very good night rest. Since there was no electricity Kathryn made sure there were candles lit everywhere in the house and gave us flashlights. Fortunately the electricity came back later in the evening so we were able to enjoy a great breakfast while Kathryn made sure our clothes got dried in the dryer. The B&B is very well located, only a 5 min walk to the main city center. There is a large driveway in the back accessible by a side street so the location is very motorcycle friendly. Definitely a repeat if I'm ever in Bancroft again

This B&B is very cosy, the rooms and bathrooms are clean and the owners very friendly. There are bottles of water for free and when you want you can get a cup of coffee or tea. They serve full breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, toast, coffee, tea and orange juice or somethings else if you want. We can recommend this B&B. We would love to stay there again.

Arrived on Dec 25th for 2 nights with no trouble accommodating a Christmas Day arrival. The hostess was friendly, the breakfast fresh, and rooms were clean, cozy and warm with comfortable beds although it hit -32 degrees celcius the 2nd night. A big sitting room on the main floor with lots of space. Don't be put off by the stairs in the front, lots of parking behind that pulls right up to the door. Free WIFI a hit with my teen. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

This a very comfortable B and B with a good and satisfying breakfast. My son and I loved the back bacon! Kathryn is very welcoming, a sparkling conversationalist, and will take good care of you, even packing you a lunch if you're going hiking. Our beds had excellent mattresses, and the bathrooms were spotless. There are common rooms in this fine old Victorian home where you can "hang out", read or watch TV. Definitely good value for the money! You can't go wrong by staying here.

Beautiful bed and breakfast. A gorgeous wood stove, antiques galore...truly a gem of Bancroft. The owner is wonderful and accommodating. Breakfast is delicious and filling. The view is beautiful, I don't have a negative thing to say about the place. I have stayed here twice now and any time I come to town, I would stay there again without question. The best restaurant in town is right next door and a five minute walk to downtown makes this B&B accessible to everything in the area. Clean, friendly, inexpensive and relaxing..what else could you ask for!!!!

We were 3 couples on a saddle bag sled trip. We took over the 3 bedrooms and it worked out great. Lovely historic home, very clean and very accommodating host. Good access from sled trail and lots of parking for 6 sleds. Nice breakfast, comfy beds and well located. Walk to nice restaurants. It was a nice change from the typical hotels.

This was a last minute, almost emergency, booking as my motorcycle broke down far from home and my wife (who I called from the road) went online and found this place for me. They were so incredibly accommodating, picking me up at the local Canadian Tire where I had to leave my motorcycle overnight for repairs. Very reasonable price, great room and a fabulous and full course breakfast with terrific coffee in the morning. The host who owns and operates the place is a lovely person who goes out of her way to help guests feel comfortable. Will actually go back again in the future, but this time on purpose! Thanks so much for a perfect stay :) Steve

My sister and I stayed a few nights while rock-hounding in and around this beautiful town. We had a fabulous stay in a very nice, clean rustic older home with a cozy fireplace and antiques everywhere. The ambiance and friendly attention from the wonderful owner sure enhanced our visit. Kathryn makes a fantastic breakfast with all the trimmings. We have booked for another rock adventure next year.
Thanks very much Kathryn,
See you next year.

The house is nice, clean with great rooms, spacious bathroom, comfortable linens and to top up the superb customer service/friendliness from a Catherine. The delicious breakfast was full of varieties discussed and decided with Catherine. Catherine makes you fell like home. Definitely a place to go back when in the area again.
