This place was incredible: the staff were so friendly introducing themselves when you arrived and calling you by name every time they saw you thereafter, the place was absolutely spotless with big comfy beds and beautiful bathrooms (the best i’ve ever seen in a hostel) and the whole atmosphere was just perfect.

On my first night I had Mamma’s dinner which was a great sampler for homemade portugese cuisine and with 3 courses and drinks included for 10 euro the best deal you’ll find in Lisbon! Dinner was also a fantastic way to meet new people as a solo traveller and I really enjoyed my time in the bar with everyone afterwards

The location cannot be beat, a short walk from the metro and a couple mins walk from the tram to Belem and train station for Sintra

I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone, it was the best decisioni made on my trip to Lisbon.. thank you everyone at Home!!

I rarely stay in Hostels, and I am so glad I did this time. I loved the space the minute I walked in. Sebastaõ and Gonçalo checked me in and made me feel so welcome.

The place is spotless and cleaned daily from top to bottom. I spent a whole week at the Hostel and felt safe and secure. The Hostel crew staff was excellent; everybody was so friendly, welcoming and helpful from the management, the cooks to the housekeeping.

Great location in the historic centre, just a 10 minutes walk to the Bairro Alto (great for nightlife, and to listen to Fado). You also have access to public transports (buses, tram and metro), and a multitude of coffee shops, retails shops, and restaurants.

It's a 40 mins journey (door to door) on the metro from the airport - get off at the Station Baixo- Chiado which is a 6 mins walk to the Hostel.

Now, let's talk about the jewel of this place - the Amazing Mama. I wish I could carefully pack her in my suitcase and take her home with me. Mama reminds me of my mom, petite, mighty and caring, and her food is simply delicious #foodporn

Nights are fun guests, and staff mingle around the bar.

Like some other folks have said, the people who work here are really inconsiderate when it comes to reservations. We made a three night reservation online. We ended up deciding to stay longer in Lisbon so I emailed the hotel and asked if we could extend our stay. I got no response. So after a day I emailed again. Still no reply. The next day I figured I better call. The guy I talked to immediately said he’d seen my email and we were all set - it was ok to extend my stay. I never got a confirmation email though so the next day I emailed and asked for a confirmation. No reply. The next day I sent another email and got a reply from someone else saying our room wouldn’t be available the first night of our extended stay but if we didn’t mind moving rooms it would work. I said sure. She sent the confirmation - but even though she was responding to my email with the original request, she had the dates wrong. So I replied with the corrected dates and was told the place had really booked up in the meantime and the only way we could stay for the five nights we requested would be to move rooms three times. No thanks. So basically because they couldn’t be bothered to actually change my reservation during the time the room was still available, I lost out on the reservation. And during the five days or so that I wasted when they said they could extend the reservation but never actually did, our second and third choice hotels got fully booked. And to add insult to injury, I just got my phone bill and it cost $7 to make that call because they couldn’t bother to reply to my email. Hopefully I dodged a bullet and we’ll be happier in the place we finally managed to book (which looks pretty great and is quite a lot cheaper than Home Hostel).

Decent, and clean but some staff were kind of rude. If you cancel the plans to have dinner at the hostel they charge you 5 euro so you are better off not telling them if you have signed up already and changed your mind for whatever reason. Thye told me it would be free as it was my birthday and then I explained that their earlier sinta trip had run over and that is why I could no longer attend and I was charged for cancelling. I wished I hadn't said anything or just kept me money.

First of all, I was so stunned to see how clean and orderly everything is in this hostel! It also smelled really nice and it looked more like a Hotel to me than a hostel. I was pretty lucky to have the room all to myself on my very first night. The staff were really friendly and kind. I took part of Mamma‘s Dinner which cost 15€ and it was totally worth it (appetizer, main course and dessert with drink + Porto wine ) and Mamma offered me a second portion of the main course which I just couldn’t decline😜 They also have Breakfast Buffet which only costs 5€ that offers a good variety of food, Pancakes, Cereals, Juices, Coffee, Eggs, Beans, Bacon and several fruits! And carrot cake as well!

I highly recommend this Hostel which is located quite conveniently near the Metro and tourist spots like the Castle.

A small letdown was the noise outside but I am still going to give it a perfect rating all in all since I am more than satisfied during my 6 days stay.

PS: Also met a couple of new friends!

Great hostel!! Super nice staff and very good hospitality. Thank you Jonas for all the efforts to make our stay comfortable!
Rooms and bathrooms are super clean, very nice food and kitchen. There’s breakfast and dinner everyday (optional, charged separately). It also has a great location, close to Praça do Comércio.
The reservations could be better managed cause some groups didn’t stay in the same room (and couples as well). Despite this, the hostel has a great and cozy environment and it was one of the best that I have stayed!

Had an amazing time at the hostel. It was one of the most sociable hostels I've been to and they have a daily social dinner where it's easy to meet people and make plans. The 4 bed rooms I was in was amazing and the while place looked really stylish. Definitely do the Sintra tour with Joao. He was the best guide and we had so much fun!

Home Lisbon was wonderful! Some of the staff were a little cold. The pillows weren't very comfortable. But the bathrooms were clean. Meeting people was easy because of the bar and the breakfast dining area, and there were a bunch of solo travelers which was great for me. The best part of my stay was my walking tour with Paula she gave us a tour of Lisbon which was organized through the hostel and was free except for a tip. She was amazing! Funny and easygoing. I only stayed for 1 night but wished I stayed for longer.

We had a great time staying with momma and the team at Home Hostel. It is perfectly located in the middle of everything. Walking distance to the main train station, metros and an easy pickup for Uber, you will be able to see anything you want from here.
The hostel offers a host of tours, adventures and other happenings that I highly recommend you take. We took a tour to Sintra with Joao, whatever tour Joao is giving while you are there, take it! He was excellent. @johnfromportugal
Breakfast was excellent, drinks at the bar are fun and of course not to be missed are the dinners with Momma herself complete with a toast of port.
There is a range of guests from the typical young travelers on their first trips solo to seasoned travelers looking for some new friends.
The single rooms are on par with a basic hotel room, but beautiful and artfully decorated. I can't speak to the group rooms, but was told they are comfortable and loads of fun.
You feel safe here and truly like you have a home with a BIG family at the Home Hostel.
