This place was absolutely amazing! My partner and I loved our stay and were blown away by all the details they'd thought of. The twinkles lights at night were so dreamy. What really got us was the wood fired sauna! It was sooooo nice to come home and get to sit in there, especially with how cold it was. We really enjoyed how environmentally conscious the entire place was too. Laird was so accommodating and kind with all requests. He really goes above and beyond for the guests. We last minute booked the fire pit and he leaves all the supplies for it ready for you to use. Location wise it was so close to the airport, literally 5 mins down the road! We didn't have a car our first day but taking a cab was incredibly easy and convenient. Everything in Whitehorse is super close by so nothing is really far. I couldn't recommend this place more. If you're in Whitehorse you need to absolutely book this place! Oh last thing, the bed was so incredibly comfortable and having the view of the forest our the window was really the most relaxing and beautiful view!

What a wonderful place to stay! The host was so welcoming, quick to respond to any questions, and very accommodating. The outdoor lighting was visually appealing to approach the cabin. We stayed during some very cold weather, and it was a nice cosy feeling to enter the room. Nice set up inside, with lots of amenities. The large window lead to frequent watching out into nature.
Enjoyed the book on the construction of the build process. So many considerations on the impact to the area.
The sauna was prepped and ready to use, heated up quickly, and was so relaxing.
The location was perfect for our visit, and we were thankful to be able to stay here.

This was a lovely stay. Though small, we anticipated that from the description. The unit was neat, clean, cool on hot days and was in a quiet setting. It was located just ten minute drive from the downtown. The kitchen was equipped with coffee, tea and a small fridge that we were able to stock with the items we needed to cook breakfast each day. There are dishes for two. No TV, but wifi is there and a radio to get local news in the kitchen. The thoughtfulness into the design inside and outside for a lovely setting around the fire pit was wonderful. We didn't use the sauna or the fire pit as it was too hot, but we enjoyed this setting and will be back.

There is an air of enchanment to these cabins in their stand-alone, multi-level, irregular placement in the natural surroundings, all of which also adds to the sense of privacy. The very large windows bring the natural setting right into the main room. The bed is literally the best we've ever slept in, and we're fussy. The wooden walkways connecting the cabins also adds to the charm of the setting. The sauna is very attractively designed and built with the same workmanship as the rest of the place. Once there, you'd never know that downtown is just minutes away, making it the best of both worlds. And there's a nice little trail that takes off from the walkway going up to a beautiful pine forest just above the cabins, with a great view. I give at least 5 stars to the vision and the work that made this place what it is.

Black Spruce is perfect for couples looking to get away during the winter. Only 5min from downtown Whitehorse, you feel like you've got your own slice of beautiful Canadian wilderness. The rooms are specially designed with Scandinavian aesthetics and an emphasis on minimalism, while still having everything you need. Our host, Laird, was fantastic and always on hand to give advice and assist in getting around.

Beautiful atmosphere and area in and around the cabins. Awesome location, just minutes from downtown Whitehorse and the highway. Friendly service and quick help when needed. Black Spruce Cabins provide a relaxing stay and allow easy access to all the amenities that Whitehorse has to offer. The cabins also feature the ability to book a sauna during your stay, creating such a deep calm. I highly recommend this local accommodation, thank you to the Black Spruce Cabin team.

The cabins at Black Spruce are such a beautiful place to get away to! We arrived in the middle of a very cold snap, but our cabin (more like a very lovely tiny home) was so cosy and warm, even at ‐40 degrees C outside. The snow made it all seem like some kind of winter wonderland, with all the sparkly lighting on the paths. Laird was really helpful and kind, and quick to respond to all our questions, no matter how silly they might have seemed to him 😀 The cabins are equipped with everything you could need, but are also located close enough to town that it's no bother to zip in if you need groceries or anything. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we were ever back in Whitehorse. Thanks so much, Laird!

We loved staying out of town in the forest, yet close enough to Whitehorse to grab a bite to eat. Laird has strung lights throughout the property making entering at night a magical experience. Huge picture windows, give the sense that you’re staying in a treehouse. All in all, our favorite small lodge!!

Loved the eco design for the comfort offered (great organic linens, straw bale insulation for heat control) but also for the aesthetic value -- the beauty of the interior as well as of the setting. All the photos are very accurate! Our experience exceeded our expectations. Our host was welcoming and responsive whenever we had a question. We would go back again and again if we did not live so far away!

When we drove up on a snowy night, we felt instantly transported into a different world. It's close enough to downtown to still enjoy Whitehorse with a car, but far enough where it feels like you're in some magical tree house. I kept expecting to see reindeer or elves when I looked out of the giant window in the cabin that provides a gorgeous view of snow-covered trees. The sauna was amazing and relaxing. We got to meet the owner briefly who is kind and keeps the place so clean for guests on arrival. Definitely will go back!
