We had an excellent experience at Wisteria Guest House. Warm staff, friendly and helpful. Our suite (studio #2) Has all appliances that allow us to bring lunch or even make tea/coffee.
The bathroom is small and well-decorated, with a heated floor, body wash - shampoo and conditioner dispenser; I brought my hairdryer, but they have it in this unit What I’ve had miss: a Bathroom Handicap Safety Grab Bar.
Breakfast: be prepared for a gourmet breakfast experience in a cozy and curious room. Our table was next to a dollhouse. So cute! Attention: it is not a buffet or continental breakfast.
Well located (10 minutes walking to the Ganges).
We strongly recommend Wisteria Guest House to anyone visiting Salt Spring.

We loved everything about our stay at Wisteria! We stayed in room 4, which is located on the front corner of the main building. Right away, we were charmed by the boho furnishings, which were colourful, very clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was perfectly equipped and even had extra touches like makeup pads, q-tips and special bath salts. The room was quiet and provided a good sleep.
Not enough can be said about how delicious the food was!! The owners (Len, Beverly and Kimoko) are very personable and professional. The dinning room was setup so that guests had plenty of social distancing but could also chat. Coffee and tea are available throughout the day.
And a shout-out is also needed for Steve, the cat, who welcomed us at the door almost everyone. He has a great purr and even let me pick him up for a cuddle.
We will book again!!

The room was lovely and bright and spacious, the bed extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and had very nice body wash, shampoo and even bath salts. There was fresh brewed coffee in the bright roomy lounge in the morning, perfect to accompany the fresh croissants that we could walk to buy at the nearby bakery. Len was a very welcoming host and gave us ideas on where to eat in the evening. In summary, a perfect oasis for a relaxing and restorative break.I do hope I can go back, when the wisteria are in bloom!Thank you !

We arrived a couple hours ahead of schedule (yeah, I was surprised that BC Ferries was that efficient too) and rang Len, asking if we could check in early, and were given a cheerful "Of course!". We were greeted by Kim, with open arms and a huge smile, and our amazing stay began.
Cool old house, antiques and old bits and pieces abound, like an old Cariboo farm house, and the very nicely appointed bedroom has the same feel, and ours had a very nice deck as well. It is set in a nice shady yard, and is an enjoyable ten minute walk to downtown Ganges
Breakfasts were amazing (Beverly is a professional chef) and not your average Canuck breaky fare; we had real British rice pudding one morning....an incredible treat!
It is quiet, relaxing and comfortable....and be prepared to chat with your fellow guests at breakfast; this is one of Beverly's rules! And if you need feline therapy, Steve the Cat will come by for a visit.

Wisteria has beautiful rooms with little touches that make your stay relaxing, comfortable and feeling very taken care of. The hosts are amazing and friendly, and the breakfast is 5 stars. It has been a long time since my partner and I have stayed at a traditional BnB (usually AirBnbs) and we were blown away. The quality of our stay and price point was fanstastic and makes us consider always booking regular BnBs for future trips (and staying away from AirBnbs, that now tend to be quite overpriced and minimal quality). Top notch experience, and cannot wait to go back!

We stayed at Wisteria Guest house for one night in October. The rooms were cozy and clean, with very comfortable beds and locally made products (soaps, bath salts).
Len, Beverly and Kimoko were extremely welcoming and accomodating, and made a delicious 2-course breakfast (the menu apparently changes each day, so you wouldn't get bored if you were staying longer).
Another highlight was their very cute cats who you can find curled up in the living area, or wandering the hall.
Great location, just a short drive from Ganges.

This was the perfect place for two long-time friends to have a quiet getaway. We had Room #1 with 2 beds, and then used the lovely sitting room to chat, play games and just hang out. The guesthouse is perfectly located - in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood, but close to the Ganges town centre. The breakfasts were delicious and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We will stay there again for sure.

Pros: I loved the location of the guest house and the owner was really nice and welcoming. Conns: as far as I could tell, none of the people working there were wearing a mask for COVID-19. For example, when serving breakfast they would bring the plates, explain the menu and have long chats with guests while standing right next to them without a mask.

Response from Len Brown, Owner at Wisteria Guest House

Thank you for your comments. You're correct about the masks. We follow all the COVID-19 protocols set down by the Province of BC and WorkSafe BC and masks are not mandatory if this is done. You would have noticed over breakfast that physical distancing has been set up at the tables, that there are no common utensils on those tables and that we do not touch the cups or glasses when we pour coffee or juice. Along with all the cleaning and sanitizing that goes on behind the scenes, in the rooms, the kitchen and the common areas, the Wisteria Guest House correctly follows the COVID-19 Safety Plan. At the same time, we appreciate that some guests may not feel comfortable sharing a communal breakfast and these can choose not to have breakfast by selecting the discounted rate on our website. I will say, however, that most people stay at the Wisteria to enjoy the breakfasts and the company. The challenge is to still maintain that experience while ensuring that everyone feels safe.

Look no further; Wisteria Guest House B&B is outstanding.
My room was very comfortable and clean. Nice seating area and big comfortable bed. Bathroom was spacious and clean.
Breakfasts were outstanding. Stay at Wisteria just for the 2-course breakfast! They have a big eating area for all the guests at the B&B to eat and visit during breakfast. I really liked that part.
The most outstanding part of Wisteria B&B is Len. He is one of the most gracious hosts I've met in my travels. He spent extra time with me at check-in to let me know of the places to visit; assisted me in the ferry timings and even went out shopping late on Sunday night so I would have soy milk for my coffee in the morning. That is exceptional, personable service. One of a kind. Thank you so much Len for your hospitality.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

If you can stay at Wisteria Guest House when you are in Ganges, you should. Even beginning with the drive in from the main road our experience was nothing short of magical. We were greeted by the most beautiful gardens peppered with little seating areas and Moroccan umbrellas to shade us from the sun. There is a great variety of species planted around the grounds with antiques scattered about. You are greeted by your host who takes you into the Dining hall for check in. As you walk into the main building you will see an eclectic collection of antiques followed by a hallway library leading to the charming dining hall where there are more antiques on display, a comfortable seating area, and mismatched dining tables and chairs. You are assigned a table for the morning breakfast and asked about your food sensitivities and preferences. If you are lucky, Steve the cat will be awake from his afternoon slumber to greet you. He has his own Instagram. Our room was a cute with more antique charm and had a well lit seating area in the garden just outside the door. Breakfast is served at 9am in the dining hall. Our experience has been two courses with incredible amounts of delicious food served plate service style to us and a short greeting and conversation as our lovely hosts come around after the meal. We loved our stay at Wisteria Guest House and hope to come back again.
