We booked two nights last minute at Hotel Gault. We decided on a spontaneous, romantic trip away from home for our anniversary. We wanted to stay in Old Montreal, at a high-quality hotel, but for a reasonable price. I debated between a couple of hotels, settling on this one because of the location, the great reviews and the security of a hotel rather than an Airbnb. I also loved that this hotel is located in a beautiful, old architectural building. We did not regret this decision! We informed the hotel that we would be checking in extremely late (1 am), yet we were met immediately with extremely accommodating and pleasant front desk staff despite the late hour. When we arrived at our room, the lights were on and classical music was playing which was a very welcoming touch. Our room exceeded our expectations. We loved the loft room with its open concept, extremely high ceilings and French windows that opened to the street below. The pictures did not do it justice, as the room was much larger than we originally thought it would be. We loved all the amenities such as slippers, very comfy robe and even umbrellas in case it rained. The bed and linens were clean and very comfy. The staff were always pleasant and said hello whenever we passed through the lobby. The location was perfect! It's not near the nightlife, on a quiet street, yet was walkable to every restaurant and attraction we took part in Old Montreal. Hotel Gault is one of our new favourite hotels in Montreal and we will definitely be returning!

We decided to visit Montreal for a birthday weekend after not being here in about 20yrs. We chose Hotel Gault and stayed in the Terrace Deluxe room on the 5th floor (top floor) which is limited to a few rooms. Our room had an open floor plan where the bedroom and living area is separated by a tall desk and closet. The bedroom led onto a small terrace that had a high top table and two chairs. There are views of other buildings but it was refreshing to wake and open these double doors onto this landing . There was a small kitchen area with sink and small refrigerator which didn’t have drinks on sensors that usually take up space and doesn’t allow you to add anything. The hotel itself had a sleek minimalist design with great black and white photos lining the walls. There wasn’t a main lobby bar so it was very quiet, but the location gave you access to all the hottest restaurants and bars within a few blocks. Minor details would include low lighting in the bathroom and no onsite sundries store. But we look forward to coming back and staying with Hotel Gault. Each staff member was consistently pleasant and helpful with questions.

The location is great and the bed comfortable. The room is spacious and designed to look minimalist but without any consideration for comfort and functionality: not one USB port in the room, the closest power outlet is on a wall 15 feet away from the bed, the only furniture is 2 lounge chairs and a useless table 1 foot off the ground. Good luck finding somewhere to work on your computer. The toilet feels like a dungeon and the one and only towel you have is so rough you will get a good scrub. The TV has only a few local channels, can't even watch the news, and don't expect HD. You need to upgrade to a suite to get cable. It's all about somebody's concept of modern sterile design, definitely not about your comfort. You can find a much better room and warmer welcome for this price.

My husband and I visited the hotel for a much needed relaxing getaway with high expectations, which were thankfully all exceeded! We had a junior suite from Wednesday to Sunday. The room was so beautiful and spacious, it was hard to want to leave! After walking around the city all day it was a dream to return to the well done turn down service (soft lighting and music) and the big soaker tub. The bed was very comfortable and it was one of the quietest hotel stays we’ve ever stayed at. The staff was always genuinely friendly and gracious. The location with the beautiful corner door was so convenient for walking at night in old Montreal and getting dinner and breakfast with lots of options near by. A favourite was grabbing breakfast scones at Olive and Gourmondo and eating them at the old port or one of a few parks with benches near by. I can’t imagine wanting to stay anywhere else, every need was exceeded! Thank you so much Hotel Gault for the wonderful trip!

My husband and I and our 2 dogs stayed for 3 wonderful nights during the pandemic. We were given an upgrade from a deluxe loft to a deluxe suite upon our arrival. The room was super spacious with a huge bathroom. The staff helped us select restaurants to order in from and provided us with all the tableware including cloth napkins (much appreciated) to make our take out meals feel special. The location is fantastic on the edge of old montreal. I loved that it is a historic building, the juliette windows and the modern decor. The dogs had a great time as well and would say so if they could talk.;)

It seems this hotels philosophy is about making luxury personal. And they succeed, from the first touch point until check out- the entire experience is flawless every time.
Highly designed rooms, luxury linens and bath products, sophisticated room design - it impossible to not feel inspired while staying here. Perfectly located right where you would want to be so you can walk everywhere. If you value superior service , where staff will aim to do anything to please you- book this do not hesitate.

Hôtel is very contemporary, minimalistic in style. Room was a good size , with very comfortable bed & great size bathroom. We had difficulty turning on TV & even coffee maker, because no information was provided in the room due to Pandemic Precaution. Also no housekeeping provided or meals. There was access to coffee & tea by réservation & à breakfast box could have been ordered at a fee. Emma at the Reservations desk was absolutely wonderful & went out of her way to accommodate us or assist. Thé hôtel is in a good location & would roba my recommend to clients in the future.

I wanted to book a reservation for a corner suite but accidently booked a regular suite online. I called to make the switch to the corner suite which was confirmed over the phone as no problem. Upon arrival (I drive a pickup truck and was anticipating valet parking) we were told they no longer have Valet parking and we would have to park two blocks away in an underground lot. We went there and the underground parking could not accommodate the height of my truck. We returned to the hotel and were told of some other lots to "try". We ended up parking three blocks away at a cost of $25/day. So we then walk to the hotel and check in and when we got our room it was not the corner suite we had requested but at this point we just wanted to explore the city on a beautiful spring day and said to heck with it. The staff were very friendly and professional and the bed was very comfortable but the location was less than ideal especially walking back at night as the streets were dark and many drunken nightclub patrons stumbling around.

Love this hotel in Old Montreal We’ve stayed here a number of times and usually get the apartment , which is spacious and wonderful. If you don’t want to eat inside restaurants during Covid , this apartment has a large dining table and simple kitchen that works perfectly to bring in food from one the great nearby restaurants (we like Holder) and have a comfortable meal. We bought a good bottle of wine at a nearby liquor store and had a good time eating in.
The staff at the hotel were exceptional. They are extremely friendly and go out of their way to help. Especially Sofie and Josie.
We came from the US with our little dog and could not travel with her food due to import regulations. The hotel staff (Sofie & Josie) located a shop that sold our dogs’ food, purchased it and sent someone to pick it up for us. Her food was waiting for her in our room when we arrived, along with a sweet setup of dog mat and 2 dog bowls. During our stay, the city did some repairs in Old Montreal and shut off the water for a full day. It got pretty uncomfortable as the A/C was not working for this reason. The hotel graciously relocated us to their sister hotel nearby and made the transition seamless. They even had a dog bowl waiting for us in our new room.
We will definitely return to the Gault soon.

As mentioned by other guests, we offer valet parking at 37$ per night with unlimited in and out privileges. We can also refer you to nearby parking lot if you prefer to park on your own.

As many other guest mentioned, there are usually no noise coming from the streets although we are located in the Old Port. We made some renovations on the facade which involved having a scaffold and workers but it has been disassemble last week.
