I wanted to stay near the Passeig de Gracia and Room Mate Anna delivered! The location is fantastic, so close to shops and restaurants. Gaudi's Casa Batllo was so close and Casa Mila only a few blocks up the street. It was easy to walk to Plaza Catalunya (where we started two walking tours) and to the Gothic quarter. The subway stop is very close to the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I appreciated Sergi's response to my email questions about where to eat and places to watch New Year's Eve fireworks. The Starbucks next door was so convenient for early morning coffee. The rooms were beautifully decorated and quiet. The shower strength was fantastic! Breakfast was tasty and a good value at 9 Euros.
I am rating Room Mate Anna "4" instead of "5" however for a few reasons. We booked two rooms and several days in advance I asked for the rooms to be next to each other. We were given two rooms on opposite sides of a small courtyard, as there were no two rooms available next to each other. The rooms were located on the main level, in an area just past the front desk. This was unusual to be on the ground floor, but we got used to it. One of the rooms was adapted to be accessible for people with disabilities, and as such had no divider in the bathroom between the toilet and shower and sink. There was literally no wall around the shower. We were not informed of this when we checked in. When I inquired about moving, I was told that rooms on the higher floors were available the next day but would be a little smaller, so we decided to stay put. The standard room (not basic) is small, a little tight for two people. It was a cozy place to spend the night, but not a place you would want to hang out in during the day. Our room faced a small inner courtyard, which was pretty but there was little natural light. The rooms needed more lighting, but at least the reading lights at the bed were great.

Dear Travelady042, First of all I would like to thank you for staying at Room Mate Anna during your visit to Barcelona. We hope you enjoyed a great time in our beautiful city. We really appreciate our guests comments and impressions about their experience with us. We take our guests comments as an opportunity to grow and improve our service. Regarding your review about the rooms, I'd like to mention that at your arrival we assign you two rooms in the same floor as your requested. The Standard rooms in the ground floor are the biggest rooms in this category and this is the reason why we offer you to change to a two Standard rooms in a higher floor but mentioning that the size is smaller than the rooms in the ground floor. I also want to add that the rooms in the ground floor are far from the reception and they are not noisy. We have several repeting guests that always request to take these rooms because of the space, the design and the comfort. We wish to welcome you back once again and offer you the chance to see different rooms and different categories and let you decide which option fits better your needs. Warm regards,

Although we booked Room Mate Anna for a week originally, we ended up staying for 3 weeks!
The first night we were checked into a basic room – which we weren’t too enamored with - it had mirrored walls on two sides and no windows making it claustrophobic. However, Gabriel moved us into a beautiful standard room (the purple one in the website photos) which we loved. It was a good size and comfortable with an outlook to a courtyard of buildings..fantastic for people watching.
The curtains are blockout so it makes sleeping in a lot easier! The bed and pillows were very conducive to a good night’s sleep. Housekeeping kept the room and bathroom spotless.
The breakfast staff were friendly and welcoming and breakfast was varied and tasty.
Everyone at the front desk was more than helpful and informative - a special mention goes to Gabriel who truly went out of his way to fulfill all of our requests in a timely and efficient manner (hopefully his football team managed a few wins by the end of the season).
The location of the hotel could not be more central. It’s close to pubic transport with Passeig de Gracia station 100m away (L2, L3 & L4).
It’s a 2 minute walk to Casas Batllo and Amatler. Luxury boutiques and various clothing, shoe and accessory shops can be found along Passeig de Gracia which is a minute walk from the hotel. Placa de Catalunya is a 10 minute walk away.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely stay at Room Mate Anna the next time we visit Barcelona.

Had a wonderful stay at Room Mate Anna! The hotel is very conveniently located, right next to Passeig de Gracia station so ideal for getting to and from the airport. Also walkable to the shopping areas, and Gothic Quarter with all the bars and restaurants. Gabriel on reception was superb and extremely warm and friendly. He upgraded us to a room with a private terrace and looked after us perfectly throughout our stay. He also gave some great tips for local bars to watch sport and places to eat. The hotel has a lovely rooftop bar and pool area which although small wasn’t too busy during our stay. The buffet breakfast at the hotel is very good, and reasonable at €12 per person considering you can help yourself to as much food as you like

Location is pretty un-beatable: right at/by Passiege De Gracia as well as a metro. Ruth at the front desk very hospitable and friendly! The room floors had what looked like stains as well as long hairs, it was a turn-off and I mentioned it to the guy at the front desk, and he assured me that these are not fresh stains rather the room needs to be closed for a certain time and some machine needs to be used for deep cleaning, while I appreciate the explanation, I wasn't offered a good will gesture, nor a discount or any form of anything to address my concern right then and there. Didn't really push much because it was only a 1 night stay and most of the time we were out of the room and leaving early the next morning.
Also the AC didn't seem to be as good in cooling...

I'd like to know what other rooms look like to get a better idea before I book again, other than that the location is truly hard to beat.

Thanks to Anna Hotel for their great hospitality. Service was good and staffs were friendly and helpful. Strategically located, a stone’s throw away from the iconic Gaudi’s Casa Batllo, train station, popular tapas restaurants and local brands for shopping.

Is a small cozy boutique hotel with a view from the room balcony. Bed was comfortable and the water pressure from the shower was good with consistent temperature, a nice hot shower was what I needed after a long day. Although I have to say, the floor tiles were stained.

Overall was a good stay and experience for a solo traveler. Thanks again, Anna Hotel and looking forward to my next stay.

Nice boutique hotel with a great location and very friendly and helpful staff. However executive rooms are overpriced, these are quite small and overlook a busy and very noisy street. Breakfast buffer was good, but could have more vegan options.

This hotel is a little gem. It’s very central, within walking distance to central Barcelona, La Rumbla, Park Güell and Sagrada Familia. The place has some very funky decor featuring a marine theme throughout the main areas. The rooms are really well appointed. The rooftop bar is relaxed. The staff are very friendly and informative about the local area. We were here for a week and loved it. We’ll stay here again and highly recommend it.

Stayed here for 4 nights and not disappointed on any level. Staff friendly and welcoming on all levels.
Central location but just enough away from main drag so as not to much noise at night. For us we ventured to the gothic quarter regularly, 20-30min walk or short 5mins taxi ride, no issues in ever getting a taxi.
Room was lovely, shower in the bathroom was wonderful - good large cubicle. Had a balcony room overlooking the main road, but double glazed and slept well, bed itself was large and very comfy....top draw we had 2pillows each aswell....so comfy
Wouldn't hesitate to return here at all.

One of the locations for Brunch and cake is a 10 min walk! The tapas bar across the street - Madrid-Barcelona Tapas is delish! If you go up the street and make a right on Passeig de Gracia, there's another local tapas spot with some of my favorite food. Vivo tapas for something a little more upscale. This hotel is like a 20 minute walk from Las Ramblas, and there are Doner kebabs which are cheap and life changing + delish!

What is the easiest way to get from the airport to this hotel? And prices please
Answer from alan4maree
Inverness, United Kingdom1 contribution
The easiest way is probably a cab, We picked up one right outside the airport and the hotel booked one for us for the way back. Traffic can be very busy so make sure you have the correct address for the hotel as this will ensure that the cab driver takes the quickest route. Costs between 25 and 30 euro's each way for cab so not a cheap option but least stressful with family I guess.

Hi. I loved Room Mate Anna, but have never been to Sixtytwo. At RMA we just had a room that I BELIEVE was not the cheapest offered on the booking site I used, but maybe the next option up. I loved it, although the room was not huge. I don't know what kind of room or rooms you need for 4 people, though, so maybe it doesn't matter. All else about the room was great - loved the Asian red look to the room, toiletries were amusing, tiny balcony (from which I took pictures of Gaudi's Casa Batllo), bathroom was reasonably large, lots of hot water for showers, bed was quite comfortable. Had a hot pot - be careful, it heats up REALLY fast, as those things do, I didn't know yet. You don't want to blow a fuse or have the thing boil over. Location was good, plenty around for food, shopping, commuter train nearby, buses. I don't remember if there was a roof top pool, and whether it was open, but this was the dead of winter, so that wasn't important to me. We didn't eat breakfast there, so can't comment on that. There are a couple fast food places nearby, though, so if nothing else, you could eat at one of them and save money. We don't like paying for hotel breakfasts if there are plenty of options around a hotel. However, Rome (where we started our cruise), Barcelona and Madrid don't seem to be big on large breakfasts, so if your family wants those, you may want to pay for a hotel's breakfast. We were in BCN after a cruise; think we just took a cab to RMA (reasonable price). Then we went to Madrid the next day by train; loved our hotel there, but hotel has similar name, and we were dropped off at the wrong hotel, ugh. Apparently taxi drivers do that a lot. I also liked where I stayed in Rome a lot, too. Anyway, RMA is not cushy, but it's got character, a great location by some architecturally interesting buildings (unless you really want to be closer to the sights closer to the water), is very comfortable and reasonably priced. It's the kind of place I like.

Busses between AirPort and City Centre of Barcelona are Cheap, fast and convenient with a lot of Luggage room. From the Placa de Catalunya to Room Mate Anna is a straightforward welk about 5-10 min. Just walk up the Passeig de García units you pass Cassa Battlo, and turn right. The hotel is next to the Starbuck’s

I believe the rooftop pool opens in June. However when we were there in August the pool didnt open until like 2pm. The doors are locked. They said it was because they had to have an employee up there during open hours.
