We are a Canadian family that spent a week here. This is a smaller resort / hotel that was very clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, nice views, good food and had excellent service. The wifi worked well from anyplace we were here as well which our kids really liked! From check in to check out we enjoyed our time here. The front desk was very welcoming, helpful with getting us taxi’s, places to check out, restaurants etc. The cleaning staff kept the rooms clean and fresh smelling daily. The bartenders, waiters took good care of us. The food was good and reasonable priced. Even the handy man who was fixing lights or painting around the place was friendly. They have two pools, one a bit more shaded and the other one has a view of the ocean. One thing that stood out here was the very friendly and helpful staff here. They all seemed to care and were all very friendly. Some spoke more English than others but for us not speaking Spanish they were really great. There are some stairs at this place so if you have mobility issues it might not be as desired however was perfect for us. There is a small beach here but is not really for swimming. Arrocita beach is a 5 minute walk away where we walked to a few times and you can swim and do a little snorkelling. There is a restaurant there in which you can rent tables or buy some food and drinks to get a table. You can also just find some sand and sit down. The hotel is about a 5 minutes cab ride into La Crucita (60 pesos) and the cabs are fast to arrive. If you are looking for a clean, quiet place with excellent service this was a great place. The price was decent as well.

Excellent conditions, facilities, staff/services, and meals (we opted for breakfast included and also had lunch and dinner once).

It served well as a base for our first trip exploring Bahias de Huatalco.

We are glad to recommend it for other travelers.

We love the Huatulco area and have made many trips to it from Midwest, USA, since 1998. We have stayed in resorts, hotels, and B&Bs, sometimes living in two or three different places during our two week or more stays. Hotel Villas Coral is our favorite oceanside place in Huatulco. In February of 2005 we invited my brother and his family and future son-in-law's family to join us at the Villas Coral. We not only enjoyed each other's company in a totally relaxed atmosphere but also meet other people from our state that knew family and friends. We enjoyed the well maintained hotel, great pool, and nearby beach. The staff was courteous and helpful at all times. The facility was run in an informal and relaxed manner. Perhaps the only problem was that some of our rooms got assigned to other family members, like my brother ;-( but we stayed friends and just walked thru the adjoining room door and enjoyed the room anyway! Eating breakfast one morning, our spouses were thrilled to see whales from the dining room. While the B&B faces a rocky but interesting bay on the ocean side, it has a small, quiet bay, nice for snorkelling on the entrance side. The pictures I have attached do not do justice to the well maintained and peaceful setting. Definitely not a place to party but to enjoy guests from USA, Canada, and Mexico. The B&B is operated by a father and daughter who speak perfect English so language is not a problem. However, the most startling event was the flower decorations on our beds made by staff on Valentine's Day!

The setup of the hotel is all wrong and illegal if you have mobility issue. There is no mobility way for people with mobility issues. There are stairs everywhere and no lift . The reception is high in the gods from the restaurant and minor pool area and inaccessible for people with mobility issue. Even with accommodation on 1st floor you still had stairs from restaurant to room. At the time of our stay the major pool which was advertised and enticed us to book was not working which was a real blow. We have complained and have received no compensation for this which was an advertisement lie. The minor pool was not managed properly. It had a handful of loungers which were taken up rapidly and no shade. Otherwise you could sit on hard wooden benches bordering the pool and giving you no chance of true relaxation. Also I witnessed a man jumping in the pool with his shirt and sandals on, not even showering before doing so and no one was there to stop him. I did complain but this was never taken up. The management was totally unsympathetic to my very polite and gentle request for a goodwill gesture towards all those facts as we had to cut our stay short in this hotel and incur extra expenses in another one. The nicest thing about the hotel was the kindness of the restaurant staff and the security guards at the parking entrance. Fir the rest don’t waste your money on this hotel.

Front desk male staffers who are condescending, rude, and terrible customer service!
The hotel support staff is fantastic, friendly, and helpful. Happy to make you comfortable, except for the front desk male staff.
-Front desk male staffers are condescending and rude! They accuse you of wrongdoing just because I asked for extra towels. Hotel only provided 2 large bath towels and one hand towel, no wash clothes.
-Lots of stairs and no beach access.
-The water pressure in the shower is terrible, my lady had a hard time washing her hair.

Stayed 15 months ago all was very good.
Not now !!
Most days no hot water, when it worked the flow was just a trickle.
The waiters need training
Service at the restaurant poor, slow and wrong orders.
Not recommended.
Disapppinting for our special stay.

We stayed at the Villas Coral for one week, from December 26 to January 2, 2008. We are a party of four, two couples from Saskatoon, Saskathewan.

We loved the hotel! It had a beautiful rocky cove right in front, I think all rooms had ocean views. It was all white and fairly Moorish in style - it reminded us of the Las Hadas in Manzanillo.

There was a pretty little beach, Playa Arrocito, about a five minute walk away. As it was the busy high season, it was packed with Mexican tourists, but if you went at a slow time you might find you have it almost to yourselves!

Our room was not one of the kitchenette suites with sitting area, (we would get one of those next time) but it had a king bed and was quite comfortable, with a large patio sitting area. No tub but a nice big walk-in shower. It was always very clean.

We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant (also a great ocean view) almost every morning, prices were reasonable and the food was good.

It may feel a bit remote but really isn't. It would be a bit of a hike to walk to Santa Cruz or La Crucecita from there (maybe40 minutes?), but cabs are cheap and plentiful (to the above-mentioned, only 25 pesos) and one was there within 5 minutes of them calling for a taxi for us- and this was during one of the busiest tourist times of the year! We never had a problem catching a cab to come back to the hotel either, not even New Years eve.

The pool was small but nice and the water temp perfect. There is a nice deck with loungers above the pool with lots of shade, welcome as the area is very hot and it's always sunny! I would say the temp was about 30-34 degrees Celcius every day.

Alfonso and Javier at the lobby office were very friendly and helpful, also Luisa the manager was a great font of area information.

No complaints at all. The hotel is not fancy and it's showing it's age a bit around the edges (that salt air is hard on paint, etc.), and the amenities are pretty basic, but the wonderful view and the serenity of it is well worth every penny. Since we prefer non- all inclsuive hotels, we would return in a heartbeat!

My husband and I prefer to stay in small non-chain hotels and this one did not disappoint and in fact exceeded our expectations. Rooms are large, comfortable and clean, with great views, air conditioning and BBC (fun to watch news ourtside of the US!). The hotel layout is great, the pool perfect and shaded. Lots of birds, very cool frog pond that treats run-off and insures that clean water enters the ocean. Very friendly and helpful staff, I was referred to a local bird expert and had the most incredible morning enjoying fabulous flora and fauna. Food was good at the restaurant, views great. We will be back end of February.

Grounds are beautiful and views overlooking the ocean are awesome...but when my partner and I and another male couple were asked to leave because "...you have to understand that we do not want you here..", well, the tranquility of the hotel was clouded like the dark clouds that gloomed over the pacific, in the distance.

After spending the last 15 years vacationing in Huatulco we decided we needed a change. We started out staying at the Sheraton which was bought out by the Barcelo. The Barcelo was good to us and let us still rent a room only. We are not fond of the all-inclusive way to spend a vacation. At the beginning the hotel was 20 % full, but now the last few years it has become 100 % full. Too make a long story short this is why we picked the Villas Coral as our new destination.

The Villas Coral by far out weighed all of our expectations. It was the quietest, most tranquil stay I have ever had. The rooms were very nice, clean and the staff was wonderful. The breakfast was very good and the view while you eat was second to none. The view from our room was also spectacular. Luisa the owner is a very hard worker and very accommodating.

Will I return? Already reserved my room for next year!!! I will also be staying there in the off season.
