For the right kind of traveler, this hotel will be perfect. Specifically, this hotel is for travelers who simply need a comfortable bed in a clean hotel that is near the beach, centrally located, and offers free breakfast. Given that my wife and I visited Cayman to scuba dive/gorge on seafood, and we didn’t really mind forgoing luxury in our accommodations, this fit the bill (figuratively and literally considering everything else on the island is mind-bendingly expensive).
If you want frills, however, I would recommend looking elsewhere. The pool borders a busy street and is unusable. There is no place to lounge, so you end up relegated to your room at night, whereas at a nicer hotel you could find a place to cozy up and read for a bit. And the rooms lack any real warmth, making the prospect of going back at night unexciting.
One last thing to note – they recently changed the complimentary breakfast from buffet style to a la carte. They made this change in the middle of our stay, probably in response to complaints about the buffet. I am happy to say that the a la carte menu is very solid.
So in summation – this place nails the important things but lacks much else to write home about.

I stayed at the lovely Locale hotel this weekend and it was one of the very best experiences I've had at a small hotel on island (or anywhere in the world, really!) Now I understand why they are consistently booked up! You can't beat the location on the Seven Mile strip- all top eateries and beaches are in close walking distance. (WIN!)
My friends and I had a great suite, which could easily sleep up to 6 people comfortably. The rooms were incredibly CLEAN and had everything needed for comfort: warm blankets, spa type showers, good size mini fridge, huge flatscreen tv and outlets conveniently located in all sitting/sleeping areas. The customer service from check in to check out was superb! The manager, Tyler Welton, pays great attention to detail and really aims to ensure that ALL guests have a comfortable stay. Highly recommended and I will definitely be back for vacation/staycation! Choose Locale- you won't regret it!

LoCale is a beautiful boutique style hotel located on Seven Mile Beach and within walking distance to some great restaurants and bars. There is a restaurant and bar on the premises but unfortunately this is currently closed as it is not run by the hotel but leased to another company.
My husband and I did a staycation there last weekend and we were very pleased with the room and overall experience at LoCale. Our room was very spacious, had a lovely kitchenette with crockery and cutlery for 4, microwave, Keurig coffee maker and good sized fridge. TV had great stations. The bathroom was spotless and lovely soft towels. There was also a safe, iron, ironing board and good hairdryer.
On both arrival and checkout, the Manager and staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. On request a kettle was provided within 5 minutes.
Plenty of parking at the back of the hotel. There is also a beautiful swimming pool which is very private.
Would we stay at LoCale again, absolutely as we really enjoyed our few days there.

Had an amazing stay at the Locale! The staff was absolutely wonderful and helped surprise my friend for her 40th birthday by putting flowers and balloons in her room (along with an extra special touch)! The room was beautiful, the beds comfortable and the staff attentive to our needs.
The hotel is easily accessible to multiple Seven Mile Beach access points, and within walking distance to several restaurants, as well as a 10min walk to Foster's Supermarket and Camana Bay. There is also ample guest parking. We got free entry to the Royal Palms Beach Club as guests of the hotel with a free chair (you have to pay for umbrella though). There are only 3 floors, but there is an elevator at the center of the building.
When, and not if, I return - I will definitely be staying here again!

The Locale is a wonderful newer hotel which, for me, offers the perfect amenities without being too fancy. It's clean and modern with great service, but is not one of the many luxury hotels on the Seven Mile Beach stretch. While those hotels are nice, the Locale is the perfect choice for people just looking for a moderate, safe, clean hotel in the perfect location. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The downstairs restaurant (Bonfire Grill) offers free delicious breakfast your stay which is a good deal when you add up the cost of breakfast elsewhere. Bonfire offers great healthy bowls (as well as pizza and some other choices) as well for lunch and dinner and we found ourselves eating there quite a bit, not only for convenience, but because the menu was appealing and it was really good. The hotel is a perfect location for waking to a nice stretch of Seven Mile Beach (1/2 mile), Camana Bay (1/2 mile), and various shops and restaurants. There's also a 24-hour gas station across the street with lots of last minute items you may need. Overall, a great stay and I'd certainly visit Locale again.

They’ve got everything you need at a remarkably inexpensive rate. Free to rent beach towels, beach chairs, and umbrella saved us a lot and made the beach an easy place to chill for hours. The staff is super fun and friendly, special shout out to Aaron who really went out of his way to make our vacation perfect every day, this dude needs a raise and a promotion. The restaurant is really great with affordable authentic options, and the feee breakfast is really great.
The location is literally better than anything on the island because the front door is the dead center of the 7-Mile Beach district next to bars, shops, and restaurants.
You MUST go to Governors Beach if your looking for the absolute best public beach access, but the beach access next to this hotel is easy and close.
I really have no complaints. It’s a motel style resort so keep that in mind if you don’t want your door to lead you directly outside.

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay at The Locale. Rooms were extremely clean and spacious. Staff went above and beyond. 2-3 minute walk to 7 mile beach. Short walk to Camana Bay and Fosters (awesome supermarket) and many great restaurants. Continental breakfast and 2 bottles of spring water that was included each day was a plus. Staff always filled our water bottles with ice water each morning as another plus. Beach and bath towels are big... a plus for the beach especially if you don't have beach chairs. Small pool, but perfect for cooling off since we spent most of our time at the beach. Great, great stay! Highly recommend The Locale.

Awesome hotel! Really clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. The location to the beach, restaurants and entertainment was perfect. Breakfast every morning was included and the variety of options kept my 11 & 14 year old full. Beach towels were available each day for us to take to the beach and the outdoor showers allowed us to clean off when we were done. Tyler and her staff were extremely warm and welcoming each day, offering ideas of where to eat and go. Always a warm smile and hello. The Birds behind the building were great entertainment for the family allowing us to get around with a little bit of fun. Catching a bus or taxi was easy, right out front! I’m so happy we chose Locale! Looking forward to visiting again. Thank you for all of your help.

The hotel beach and along the way is not the greatest .
Your best bet is to take the chairs from the hotels and get on the bus to Governors Beach .
It’s worth it so just pack some snack and bare essentials. .
They are not on the beach, but close by.
No bar outside. But outside seating.
The beach is just behind the hotel. That beach is not Seven Mile beach If you want to go to Seven Mile Beach, take the public bus and they will drop you off. Beach access paths can be access at several points. Also, check out Cemetery Beach. Take the path on the side of the cemetery.
No, you cannot hear the ocean from the hotel; it is approximately half a block's walk to the beach. It is, however, a good quiet night's sleep.
