Basic Holiday Inn Express with breakfast included. While the rooms are large the soundproofing can do with some attention, especially between floors. The lack of any USB sockets in such a recently opened hotel is also a disappointment. On the positive side, the walk-in shower was a great improvement than those one finds above the end of a bath in so many hotels.
The breakfast is a buffet and although the cooked items are restricted the scrambled eggs were of a satisfactory standard compared to many such buffets. The presence of porridge pots for those that wanted it is a good idea.
There are no local options for an evening meal if the pizza restaurant is closed and the hotel kitchen could not deliver the full range of items on the limited menu. However, we were offered a free desert in compensation.
The number 7 bus from T5 stops across the road and is free to those with bus passes. For others and in the morning it costs £5 to travel to T5, only £1 less than the hotel hoppa bus that picks up at the hotel.

If you are selecting this hotel as a place to stay in Slough then its maybe not the best, but if you are picking it for use prior to departing from Heathrow Terminal 5 then it is excellent value.
Its ten minutes drive to the Terminal or you can catch the shuttle bus that goes every 30mins from right outside.
Yes it is stinging to pay £14 to park but in comparison to just down the road at the terminal its an absolute bargain. It's also perfectly functional in the typical HIE way. They've been in the business for years and actually know how to lay out a room and what you need. It is all you need without any frillls. Sure, you can stay in hotels at the terminal and pay four+ times the price if you wish (and still have a 15 minute walk to the terminal).
True the restaurant choice on foot is limited, but 10 mins by car you can get to the excellent 'Tummies'.
If only they'd get rid of the scrambled eggs for breakfast and fry some :-)

Because of continual government changes to our lives, will trains operate, will domestic flights operate etc. We decided to overnight prior to our son flying back to USA on 2nd January, so we knew he would be ok to make his flight-subject to BA actually flying. We had to drive from west Cornwall as well, a long and tiring journey in both directions. I don't suppose we will have been alone on this.The hotel was spotlessly clean and our rooms were spacious and comfortable and considering the tier 4 restrictions regarding meals, we thought the hotel provided a good dinner menu which we had to order and eat in our room. No problem there. Continental breakfast was included in the price but had to be collected from the reception area and eaten in our room. In short, the hotel provided good accommodation and staff were friendly and efficient.

We stayed here as it was very close to Legoland and we got a great room rate with breakfast.
Parking was plentiful and we paid £5 as we booked through booking.com. It would be £10 otherwise. Check in was swift, we paid for the room and parking when we checked in.
The hotel felt somewhat covid secure, there were hand sanitisers dotted around the lobby and reception area, social distancing was encouraged. All guests were wearing masks except when eating and drinking.
The room was actually really spacious. It had a double bed plus a sofa bed. The bed was very comfortable but unfortunately the sofa bed not so much. Shower was powerful and the cubicle a good size. All in all was a great room, very clean.
Breakfast left a lot to be desired. We had to book a slot and even then social distancing was difficult due to the limited area where breakfast was served. I think the Covid situation meant that there was a reduced menu. Only drinks were self service. You had to queue for the rest of the food. The food wasn’t the best, but as we had paid so little for the room, we couldn’t complain.
I probably would stay here again if I went to legoland or was taking a flight from Heathrow.

We stayed here as part of a legoland package. Around a 20min drive to the park was perfect. Check in was quick and easy (temperature checks now being taken due to Covid 19) We had a family room on the 1st floor (double bed and double sofa bed). Room was clean and a good size. Beds were comfy. Ac is available and there are basic tea/coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. We ate in the restaurant in the evening. Kids under 13 eat free with a full paying adult main meal. Kids had burgers and ice cream. I had fish and chips and my husband had a burger too. Food was OK. Tables had been set out to maintain social distancing and staff wore PPE. Price of the food was average (around £13 for an adult main meal) I think the drinks were a little pricey, but maybe not so for the area and a hotel 🤷♀️ Due to the Covid situation, the normal complimentary buffet breakfast wasn't set out, but bags were given at reception containing bottled water, croissant, fruit, yoghurt and biscuits. Staff were all very pleasant and friendly. Would stay again if we were in the area.

We spent a single night here, having to pick up our rental car the next morning from Heathrow terminal 5.
The hotel is located a good 10-15 minutes taxi ride away from terminal 5 with no shuttle and buses with a rather inconvenient schedule. A taxi ride to the hotel would cost a preposterous 25 Pounds and from the hotel – only 20 Pounds.
We checked in around 10PM and were allocated room 431, which was a twin room with a table, chair, TV, small shower with dispensers bathroom amenities yet a good water pressure, sink and toilet. The a/c in the room was rather weak. There’s a very convenient M&S food place across the street, which is open 24/7.
Breakfast the next day was as can be expected at a Holiday Inn Express – plain and simple.
All in all, as the rest of the IHG options closer to the airport were closed due to Covid-19, this was a decent alternative, despite its location and pricy taxi rides.

The Holiday Inn Express London Heathrow T5 is a large fairly non-descript building along London Road between Slough and Heathrow. I had a good welcome at check-in and I was welcomed as a IHG Spire Ambassador member and offered either welcome points or drinks. I was given a key card for a room on the 2nd floor.
The room was reasonably spacious with high windows giving a slight feeling of being in a prison cell. There were all the facilities to be expected in a Holiday Inn Express, the bed was particularly comfortable and the WIFI worked well throughout. I had a problem with the heating which was not up to the job but just about manageable, I noticed a couple of portable heaters in the corridor so it wasn’t an isolated issue. The bathroom was fine with wall mounted dispensers and a reasonably powerful shower.
I had breakfast on both mornings of my stay and it was well presented and plentiful with a good selection of hot and cold items and was replenished frequently. The common areas were well presented with more of a Holiday Inn feel rather than HIX. I used public transport getting to and from the hotel, the buses run frequently but as there are roadworks currently taking place (Nov 2021) the bus stop adjacent to the hotel is out of use with temporary stops either side of the property.
Apart from the issue with the heating my stay was good because of the convenient location of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. It is worth saying that although there are planes frequently departing or arriving into nearby Heathrow Airport there was very little aircraft related noise.

Booked this hotel as part of a deal with Legoland so couldn't complain too much about the value but did find a couple of flaws with this place.
Check and check out was a relatively quick and easy process which I appreciate. Also being 2020 a shout out does have to go to adequate Covid-19 measures in place.
Room was spacious for the 3 of us (2 adults and a toddler) although the pull out double bed wasn't the most comfortable it has to be said and felt like trying to sleep on a load of metal springs. Trying to get the right temperature in the room also seemed to be problematic and after setting the thermostat to 16c and then turning it off entirely the room still felt like a furnace despite several calls to the front desk and being told it had been reset.
Also noticed the shower didn't seem to have been cleaned in a while and all we get smell was mould in the bathroom. Other aspects of the general cleanliness of the hotel we noticed, the corridoor carpets looked like they could do with a bit of TLC and under the pull-out bed in the room didn't looked the cleanest, found an old sock there!
We had an evening meal which both my partner, little one and myself were satisfied with but I guess for £13 for each adult meal I was expecting something a bit more special. The breakfast on the other hand although was included in the price was rather substandard; a simplistic buffet of sausages, beans, bread rolls and a few other things including totally inedible scrambled eggs (resembled more of a milky slop then egg). I'm not sure whether this was a limited menu due to Covid but just wasn't overly impressed.
Wasn't a terrible place and in a good location with free parking but not in a hurry to come back here.

After a rainy day ride and all the rides at Legoland we decided we needed somewhere to stay close by, that could provide us with a dry warm Overnight stay as we were going to Thorpe park the next day, check-in even during COVID-19 was seamless easy and very friendly and fast. All the staff were Covid secure all masks on all the time all the shields and all of the customer service barriers were observed perfectly and the two meter gaps, even though the heater did not work in our room a radiator was supplied immediately and it was sufficient to dry all our clothes and provide us of a warm overnight stay through to the very seamless and easy breakfast buffet even though Corona distancing made the queue long it wasn’t long in time to receive our food. A special mention must be made to “COSTI”, he was a breakfast service and very very good at his job bringing us food to our table when required as we have two gluten-free participants. I can highly recommend this as a theme park or airport stay over as it’s really close by and really quick and easy I will definitely give this five stars.

Not sure about storage at Holiday Inn Express prior to check-in but call just in case. I used the storage at Heathrow for a week while I travelled to Scotland and that worked fine for me because it’s not far from where the shuttle to the hotel is. Hope this helps
