We spent 4 nights here on holidays and enjoyed our stay. We were travelling with 2 dogs and this was a convenient option.

Check in was quick and the staff very friendly. The dog rooms are located on the first floor (bottom floor) so you have an ocean view but obviously not as nice as the upper floors. Our first dog friendly room (109) had a view of the walkway so we requested a change and they were able to accommodate the next day. Room 106 was much better. All the rooms are accessed through a main entrance.

The rooms we were in had vinyl plank flooring which is convenient for dogs. The beds had comforters with a white removable cover that can be cleaned. We bring blankets to cover the beds if the dogs jump up, but I prefer places that have covers that can be cleaned. The bathroom is a bit cramped but it was clean and the shower worked well. The in room fridge, microwave and coffee maker are handy. The bed was comfortable.

Breakfast was provided in take out form due to Covid. Options were scrambled eggs with bacon, hash browns and toast or yogurt with fruit and granola or pancakes. Decent enough to fill the void.

There isn’t any grassy green space around the hotel for pets but there is some shrubs along the sea wall. When the tide is out there are paths down to the water.

We enjoyed our stay and felt like this property was good value for money. We would definitely return.

My wife and I stayed 5 nights and we had no issues. We had a corner room, with a balcony which overlooked the water. All of the rooms are in the back of the hotel, away from the street side, so there was no traffic noises at all. Both check in and check out were quick and the staff was very friendly. The room was comfortable and clean with a good view . I recommend this property.

While the hotel is somewhat dated, but is being updated, and is always clean. The staff are extremely helpful, and when the heat lamp blew in our room, put is in the Arabian Nights room with a jetted tub and extra space. The food is good and the restaurant has a great view of the Discovery Passage. When we want a change up from home, this is one of our go to places.

What a perfect hotel for a getaway. Warm and friendly welcome even though I had
reserved for the wrong day they were able to accommodate us. I was so impressed at how clean everything was - the cleaning staff pay close attention to all the little details. The pool and the hot tub can be booked for 45 minute time slots which was perfect. We were so lucky that we had two sunny days this February and we actually sat on our balcony for our morning coffee. The view from the rooms is world class. The setup for the complimentary breakfast is so perfect - you phone in the morning and order your breakfast then walk down and pick it up. We had the scrambled eggs breakfast which was tasty and hot. Their dining room is open for dinner and the menu is good. Can hardly wait to go back when their patio opens.

After a very stressful week full of anxiety and uncertainty, my hubby and I were looking forward to a relaxing weekend getaway in Campbell River. From the moment we stepped into the Anchor Inn, we were not disappointed!
The friendly and welcoming front desk staff greeted us as we entered the tastefully updated lobby of the hotel. Our suite was spacious and very clean. It was well-appointed with a fridge and microwave so we could enjoy cold drinks and popcorn for our in-room movie night in our comfortable bed!
In the morning, we relaxed with our coffee, soaking in the spectacular ocean view from our balcony.
After a swim in the beautiful indoor pool, the delicious complimentary breakfast made us feel like we were in an all-inclusive resort!
Thank you for a relaxing and rejuvenating weekend!

Warm, inviting lobby. Staff were amazing, friendly and helpfully. The hotel was built with ocean views in mind. There are windows overlooking the ocean throughout the hotel with cozy sitting areas, not just the rooms. We had the king room on 7th floor. The private balconies are a bonus and the views are spectacular. The room was very clean, spacious. If you leave your patio door open at night you can hear the waves crash. There’s the beach right there for walks etc. The dining room was a pleasant surprise, again built for the view. Had a wonderful quiet dinner as close to the ocean as you can get . Service staff were friendly and happy. Due to Covid I think the pool etc is closed. free breakfast was provided you just had to order by phone and bring it back to your room because of covid safety rules. But it was no hassle. My order was ready in 5 minutes and the hot breakfast was just fine.
Great stay here for an amazing value price. I think the patio is now open on weekends. Would love to check that out as I’m sure the views are great there too! But we were there on a week night. It was my first stay here and I will definitely be back!!

It was our first time in Campbell River! We really didn’t know what to expect, and wow, what a beautiful town! But what really turned out to be the cherry on our Sundae was the hotel we stayed at, The Anchor Inn & Suites!! From the moment we walked in we were treated like royalty by ALL the employees of this amazing little gem, from the front desk, to the bartender to the maids who cleaned the rooms! From the beautiful front desk, we could see the breathtaking view and hoped that our room would have a similar view, well it did! We were lucky enough to get one of the theme rooms, not sure how many they have but we were showed a few. Our room was called “the Safari Suite” but other theme rooms were “English Countryside Suite”, “Arctic Suite” and “the Arabian Suite”. All are beautifully decorated, so original and well laid out. We had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in our room, as well as a full living room and a big hot tub! The view was absolutely spectacular and we had a long deck where we could sit outside and watch the seals swim by, it was magical! We ate at the restaurant and also ordered room service and were never disappointed. Just cannot say enough about this place. Thank you to all the employees who made sure our stay was absolutely wonderful, we will be back!

This hotel was wonderful years ago. We started going to the Anchor Inn 25 years ago..., great pub, beautiful decor, awesome sushi bar, great restaurant, clean rooms, nothing to complain about. This stay was the worst ever. Breakfast included for free at a cost of $200.00 nightly. Uncooked sausages, eggs scrambled made from something unfresh, hashbrowns cold and overcooked, weak tasteless coffee, it was off to Tim Hortons for us. And now the hot tub, our trip there in January found the jets not working as did our recent visit, not working. Dog friendly they say, at an extra cost of course, no poo bag dispenser....and no area for them to poop atall. Now our room was filthy, candy wrappers by the bed, filthy stained smelly carpets, someones blue pills on the loose and torn carpet. The bathroom contained a toilet so loose it slid back and forth and sideways during touch-down. Happily the beds had fresh sheets, and clean towels were abundant. Also, the front desk staff were very nice as were the ladies serving in the restaurant. Rumor has it this place will get a renovation this fall. I hope the new owner-owners read this review and get serious about this renovation, this place needs way more than paint and carpet.

I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your recent stay with us. I want to thank you for pointing out the positives such as good customer service and clean sheets and towels. The negatives that you experienced were not acceptable and I am certainly going to address these issues with the various departments. I also want to thank you for your suggestion of providing doggy poo bags and dispenser. We will be implementing this. If you wish to discuss your stay with me personally, please email me at manager@anchorinn.ca with your contact info. Thank you

One of the best kept secrets of Campbell River! I must say I am absolutely impressed with the Oceanside deck, open seasonally and weather permitting. We stumbled on to the deck yesterday while out for a walk (we have a condo just down the road), it was Happy Hour and decided to drop in. We were greeted by a fantastic lady (Toni) and were seated at a table by the railing with an absolutely breathtaking view. We ordered a bevy and sat enjoying the view, next thing we knew, we decided to stay for another and ordered an appetizer, we chose the platter for 2 so we could sample the local offerings. We can’t say enuf on the taste and presentation, very impressive! In fact the other table in front of us ordered the same when they saw ours!
We decided to come back the next night and ordered dinner, we were not disappointed! The freshness and locally sourced flavours are commendable! Hats off to the chef and the service is second to none! What an absolute gem! A must to try and having the deck open is all the more enjoyable!

The location is exceptional, cut into the hillside with amazing views of the ocean. The hotel is an older building with rooms having upgrades to a point but are adequately taken cared of, and comfortable. The bathrooms have had upgrades too and are more than amble, toilets are a bit low. 2nd floor is below the restaurant which can get noisy first thing in the morning and late evening.

Housekeeping are exceptional and cannot do enough for you.

The restaurant has great food but the decor is dated. Lisa the server is a great asset to the restaurant but the sad think is there are other servers who need 1 0 1 in customer service. The teenagers who assist in the morning and a server in the evening need an attitude check What I would say is these individuals should not work in hospitality. Because of CoVid the staffing levels were less than expected but didn’t spoil our trip.

We did not eat there because of the bedbug infestation in our room. So I don’t know if they have gluten-free.
