Stopped for the night while on a motorcycle tour. When reviewing this hotel, you have to take into account the location. Mary's Harbour is a small coastal northern town which doesn't even have paved roads. There are no five star anything's up here but given the access and location, they don't have to do much of anything since your options are very limited however they strive for the best service they can give. The town is quaint, the people are extremely helpful and cordial. A man gave my father a ride back from the local store (only half a mile walk). The hotel staff is very helpful. They have a phone number you can call if you need anything after hours. The rooms aren't anything fancy but clean and functional. It was quiet when we stayed. We left early, the restaurant doesn't open until 9am (home cooked, literally and quite good for dinner) but they leave a key since breakfast is included and coffee is ready to go, cereal and toast and oatmeal if you want. Wifi is free and serviceable, nothing super fast. Also, given the limited options, they could set their price, but I found that this was the cheapest (by a good 20$) hotel we stayed in on the Translabrador Highway.

We had planned a one night stay at this basic but comfortable hotel on our way to Battle Harbour. Due to weather issues we were unable to get to Battle Harbour. Although I am sorry we missed it, we did end up really enjoying our three day stay at Riverlodge. Although you cannot drink the water, bottled water is provided. Each day, as our Battle Harbour trip kept getting canceled, we went went back to the hotel where they graciously welcomed us. We stayed in two comfortable rooms, one with a water view, during our stay. Staff allowed us to do our laundry in the hotel's machines, went out to the docks and brought back fresh crab for dinner one night and introduced us to a number of locals. We learned a great deal about life and the history of small (383) communities in Labrador. If we're are ever in that area again we will definitely stay there.

Labrador is known for its friendly people, hospitality and need to feed company well. This hotel stands true to this reputation. The owners Keith and Cheryl are fantastic and will do whatever possible to ensure you enjoy your stay. The staff are all locals to the area, friendly, and welcoming. The food is great, all home cooked and fresh. The hotel works very hard to ensure you have a comfortable stay.

We booked this hotel for 2 nights last spring. When we arrived after driving 90 km of dirt road we were told we no longer had a reservation as all rooms were taken by the crew working on the road! Although I had a confirmation number no one called to cancel! We were stranded, and could not even get lunch as they had no cook! In addition the hotel looked run down and dirty!

We booked a reservation at this motel three months in advance. We had planned to stay here for one night and take the ferry to Battle Harbour in the morning. When we arrived we found that our reservation had been cancelled. We were never notified! Apparently the owner had rented the rooms to construction crews working in the area. Thankfully Annette, the cook, after several phone calls, arranged transportation and an extra night's accommodation for us at Battle Harbour.

OK - not a 5 star hotel but it is really good considering the location. Clean, comfortable room and really wonderful and accommodating people running the place. We were scheduled for two days at Battle Harbour but the weather (wind) would not cooperate and the hotel worked with us on last minute uncertainty go/no go. Great restaurant. Agree with other reviews - were very pleased and would stay here again should the need arise.

Beautiful Mary's Harbour, Labrador has a population of about 383 so do not expect to be checking into the Hilton here. This small family run business boasts clean rooms and basic good food in their restaurant. They are small and that is charming. No pretence here. Room was just as described--clean spacious with ensuite, tv, free wifi. No bar fridge or microwave, but big kitchen was always open. The staff were friendly and helpful. A small town worth walking through as it is very picturesque and the sun setting over the harbour is stunning. When we stayed they had a boil water advisory--this happens. My last trip to a 5Star Dominican Republic resort was bottled water only so they are not delinquent or mismanaged. Bottled water was always available at no charge and do understand this is a community advisory, not location problem. We look forward to visiting this beautiful place again and will stay at Riverlodge.

The bedsheets were clean- so if you are in need of only a bed, do so. And Internet worked.
But stay somewhere else if possible. Just horrendous service and a scary restaurant;posted not to even brush your teeth with the water;sketchy moldy windows in these basement rooms- our screen was falling out- the other window didn't have one.

We wanted to give a "thumbs-up" to Cheryl for accommodating us when we came into the Airport. The meals at the Riverlodge Hotel were excellent. This is a small village with a great friendly attitude with a fishing background. With Cheryl's "family connections" we had the availability of obtaining fuel for our airplanes, through her "Uncle Paul" - and her mother Margaret, who we were billeted with during our stay.
Thank you for your interest in our aspirations and we learned a lot from you and the area of Mary's Harbour & area

The walls/ceilings are paper thin. We could hear every word the couple were saying in the next room..we could hear every sound from the restaurant directly over our heads. The towels were disgusting, the room wasn't clean and when we tried to contact the front desk, there was no one there. There is no one on duty throughout the night. If you have an issue, you have to call them at home...and if need be, they will then drive the half an hour to address your concerns. We had spent several days driving, when many more in front of us...all we needed was a hot shower and some rest...couldn't get either.
