We stayed in two separate units throughout our stay in Waikiki. We stayed in vacation Internationale units they are a timeshare group. We stayed in room 712 which was the first level above the parking lot while the unit itself was very nice clean and well appointed the view was dismal which was a parking lot . On our second stage we stayed 2318 which is a corner unit and the view was fantastic . The V I units are very nice with full kitchen and all utensils needed as well as a washer dryer, nice big master bedroom with large closet and safe, also the TV in the master. The bathroom is a little small but definitely adequate and clean . The location is very good along the canal and adjacent to the golf course and only a few blocks to the beach as well as near to the various restaurants and shops about. Check in is a little awkward for VI memebers as you have to go to the Royal Kuhio to check in and get your keys it’s maybe a five minute walk away Pool is open ,it is small but the deck area is huge, overall not a great pool area Look forward to return

My family of three stayed in a one bedroom VI timeshare unit for 6 nights. Although the building and room were a bit dated, it was perfect for our family of three. We stayed on the 8th floor and had a nice view of the canal. It was especially convenient to have a full kitchen, separate bedroom, in unity laundry and full length lanai. Each unit has a dedicated parking spot as well that is clearly marked.
The location along the canal is really beautiful and quiet. We had no trouble schlepping our gear to/from the beach. There are many wonderful restaurant and shopping options nearby and I would highly recommend this location to others. We felt extremely safe while on Oahu and this location is really ideal for getting around. The rooftop pool and deck had some of the best views and was an added bonus to our stay.

this condo hotel is average for Waikiki beach. It is on the small side however tastefully decorated and all the essentials are there from bathrooms to kitchen. It is not cheap however neither are any other properties in that area. You are not paying for what you get you are paying for where you are. The kitchen is well stocked with the essentials as is the bathroom

We stayed in room 2618, a large corner unit, with a great view of the Ala Wai Canal and the Oahu Mountains from our lanai. Off to the west, we could see the blue Pacific ocean.
Our bed was comfortable and the room was terrific, with a full kitchen and a washer & dryer.
The external door key fob entrance was a little confusing; we had to ask the security guard how it worked, and he helpfully explained to use a sensor below the keypad.

We arrived late at night and they screwed up with our unit keys. After 5 and half hour flight we had to wait for an hour to finally someone shows up with our keys. The room was nice and clean in the first glance, but next day there were couple of cockroaches in the kitchen cabinets. After all the drama when we asked for late check out, they refused and last day we had to stay out as our flight was at night. So I don't recommend Fairway Viall and specially with VI Resort management

We stayed at the Fairway Villa from 03/25/05 to 04/01/05. We own a timeshare with vacation internationale and decided to use our points. When we arrived we checked in at the Royal Kuhio, the sister timeshare in the chain. We were given our own parking spot and magnet keys to get in. Fairway villa is located two blocks from Waikiki beach. We were in the center of all the stores and shops in Waikiki. There is nothing fancy about Fairway Villa. It is like an apartment or condo and I believe people actually live there on a permanent basis. The room was VERY clean and roomy. We were on the 19th floor overlooking the canal. We stayed in a one bedroom which included a full kitchen, a living room, a double lanai (balcony) and cable TV. There was a small pool (not heated) on the 29th floor and a small jacuzzi. That was it for ameneties. At least the pool was not busy so we the whole 29th floor and the sun to ourselves. We basically used our room as a "homebase" so when we were tired or "wasted" we just walked the short distance from all the shops and party spots to our room and rested. We were away from all the noise of downtown Waikiki, so that was nice. If you want to have an affordable stay and a condo in the heart of Waikiki, and not looking for resort ameneties, I would recommend Fairway Villa.

I stayed at this hotel with my partner in 2001. The room was a one bed with a rollaway in the living room. The kitchenett had an oven microwave fridge etc. It was clean and the view was great. The small pool is on the roof. The hotel has a porter and is within say 3/4 blocks of the beach area and within easy reach of the zoo and stores/shops.
Only one gipe. We were near the lift which was noisey and took some getting used to .

After waiting five years to take a honeymoon I was highly disappointed in the accommodations…which is a word I use very lightly for this “Villa”. First of all there was no shampoo or conditioner in the room, there was no maid service, no concierge (instead there are security officers), and cockroaches that invaded not only the kitchen sink and bathroom but also my BED! I felt so dirty and disgusting in this place that my husband and I left a day early and checked into a beautiful hotel down the street. Also, beware if you are assigned a parking space on the second floor of the building as there is no elevator – this forced us to lug our four heavy suitcases through an emergency side entrance and have to go down a flight of stairs just to get to the lobby…by the way, there is no bellman so the security officer just looked at us as we struggled down the stairs with our bags. Also, what the online pictures do not show is if you get a studio room you will have a Murphy Bed (these are the beds that fold out from the wall) and the TV will be on a bureau right next to the bed making it impossible to lay in bed and watch TV…I saw about ¾ of the screen on my side of the bed. Now you may say, “who goes to Hawaii to watch TV?” but trust me when you are staying in this room the last thing you want to do to unwind is sit in there reading a book because if you are like me it makes you think too much about how depressing the room looks. Finally, the filth – I felt so dirty in the room that I bought Lysol wipes and did some cleaning myself – with every wipe of the wipe I got dirt which just made me feel gross. Please note, this is NOT a hotel…it is an apartment complex that has rooms allotted for timeshare customers. It is really sad that what started off as a lovely gift from my relatives turned into a nightmare…a true thriller at the Villa.

Booked apartment #1410 with Captain Cook Resorts for 2 weeks to get over jetlag and before we headed off to the Big Island. We didn’t plan to spend much time here, as we expected to be out most of the day.
Pros • Fairway Villa is very well managed. Security is top notch (the reception staff are always at their desk and looking at the cameras). Staff is friendly and building is clean. Parking for #1410 is spacious. • Our Guest Services Rep, Bryon was waiting for us when we drove up to the condo. He took us up to our assigned parking spot, showed the apartment to us, noticed there were some start-up amenities missing (washing up liquid, sponge etc) and promptly replaced them. • Washer and dryer (good for small loads) in Studio were extremely useful. • The 29th floor deck is great for watching fireworks and life going on below in Waikiki. BBQs are immaculately maintained. • The two single beds weren’t too soft.
Cons • My biggest gripe was the air conditioning unit. Even after the service staff came to fix/clean out the unit, it continued to rattle, shake, and make loud noises whenever the compressor kicked in. We could not figure which was worse and more detrimental to our sleep quality – sleeping with the air con on or with the windows open and being woken up throughout by traffic/sirens/drunks below. • Even though the unit has a kitchen, don’t bother cooking here – the exhaust fan doesn’t work. We made breakfast one morning and the smell of bacon and eggs just didn’t leave the room. • Periodically expect other cooking smells to waft in from other people’s units (even with the doors and windows closed).
Overall, if you are looking for a budget apartment with parking in Waikiki, this might suit you. But as a previous reviewer mentioned, don’t expect to get any sleep until they change the air con unit.

This room was a total nightmare and ruined at least 3 days of our vacation; the night we arrived there was a note that it would be sprayed for pests the next day. That was the first clue, then that night my husband was up all night killing cockroaches; they fogged and sprayed the next day and we were free of them for 2 days, then the bugs reappeared, bathroom and kitchen. It wasn't because we kept food out; it was secured in the frig, and we kept the garbage sack in the freezer to deter them. We did not cook or do any food preparation in the kitchen.
We booked this place with Worldmark who has a contract with Vacation International; only 19 rooms here are of that corporation--the rest are apartments. There were holes in the drapes and the lampshades; behind the toilet were many chunks of rust I guess were from the pipes. I felt filthy staying here. Totally disgusting---we booked room #1512 (random choice per computer) No one from either Timeshare did anything to help us. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

For Vacation International customers the published check in time is 4:00 pm.
But this is in the heart of the city, so there is much to see by just walking. Also for VI, their office is in the Royal Kuhio Hotel, another property managed by this timeshare group.
The rooftop pool is windy, but nice.
There are more places to choose from in the Honolulu area.
