Cherry Hill, New Jersey
We wanted to spend a few nights on the French Riviera and decided that instead of staying in Monte Carlo, we would stay in a hotel a few miles "up the hill". This hotel, while only 2 years has certainly earned it's 5 Star status.

We happened to have a room on the first floor (Lobby/Entry is on Floor 8) that had its own private infinity pool and lounge chairs, which was perfect towards the end of the day. The linens, bath robes and room amenities were of the highest quality and the Toto Toilets (2) were a nice touch. Staff could not be more friendly and eager to please.

The hotel sits on the top of the hill, overlooking the Mediterranean as well as Monaco. You should know that while you can't walk anywhere from the hotel, they do have a few house cars available based on availability. There is a Maybourne Beach Club that is 15 min away (they take you and pick you up) and in infinity pool that has breath taking views.

Looking for a hike? Have the house car drop you off at the train station and walk to the beach club. Great views - about 3.5 miles and have the car get you at the Beach Club.

Breakfast is served off the lobby in the Jean Georges restaurant which takes advantage of the scenic backdrop and was great.

Negatives - the pool menu is a little limiting and everything is expensive - that said, totally worth it and would return!

My husband and I had the most incredible stay at the Maybourne Riviera. The staff was beyond attentive and every time we returned to our room, the mini-bar had been refilled, our towels were re-set, toiletries replenished, it felt like we had our own personal butler. Everyone was so nice and accommodating as well. The concierge helped us find the perfect spot in Monaco to eat and called ahead so we could have a table with a view and was also able to get us a same day reservation at Ceto. The views from the pool can't be beat either. The only thing I would advise people of is that there isn't much within walking distance so if you want to travel anywhere (Monaco, Roquebrune, Eze, etc.) you'll need to hire a car, which the staff can help you with but it takes a little additional planning. We would definitely visit again - it was just incredible.

The Maybourne is a stunning property. The rooms are extremely well designed, comfortable and beautifully modern. The staff aims to please.

Service has its flaws but given that it has only been a few months since it opened, I think it will get there.

We loved our breakfast on the Riviera restaurant balcony. The food was excellent. Service was occasionally slow and spotty.

At one point, I was about to take a shower when I spotted workers performing repairs on my balcony in front of the bathroom. No one asked whether they could be there and it took me 30 min of calls to get them out. Took about 36 hours to get the AC in our room fixed.

The funniest item were the toiletries — there is simply no way to get much soap or shampoo out of the stone containers provided. I dare anyone to try. I understand going green, but we do need soap and shampoo :)

On the other hand, concierges were quite helpful, with reservations, cars and follow up.
As were the the shuttle drivers and the bell desk.

All that said, the location, luxury and beauty here is hard to replicate. I’d be willing to give the Maybourne another chance.

Naturally, we expected the best quality food and drink from the acclaimed chef Colagreco in the splendid environment of the new restaurant.

Unfortunately, this was not the case.

The service was pleasant and attentive.

Our party had a mixture of set menu and a la carte dishes. One of the issues for us was the total lack of choice on the set menu. This was not clear from their website. Nowadays, the majority would expect to have at least a vegetarian option on the fixed menu. Scrambled eggs, chou farci + tiramisu are not everyone's choice of food.

A la carte dishes were also a disappointment. Two out of three dishes were just very ordinary bordering on basic. Only bland baby potatoes were served with the roast chicken, nothing else as the main course. The other main course, seafood pasta had more broccoli than seafood. The pasta itself was mediocre.

The glass of rose was just basic.
Two types of bread served were non-inspiring.

The dining area is very bright and airy. The surroundings and furniture are nice to look at, but slightly less comfortable to use. The table base is so wide it is impossible to stretch your legs under the table. The Eileen Grey style chairs are an attractive feature but not comfortable for a tall person.

The dining area is merged with the seating reception area. We had several little kids running around making noise. It is to be expected in the reception area, but not as pleasant if you want a relaxing lunch with your friends.

The lack of dress code of some customers, jogging pants, and trainers spoil the atmosphere.

Overall, nice views and architecture, and that's it. I would definitely not go there for the food.

Dear Andre, We are sorry to read that the experience you lived with us was not matching your expectation. The menu follow the seasons, always have a veterarian option, and we of course make sure to adapt the dishes to allergies or food intolerane of our guests. Since mid February, the vegetarian option in the menu is "Artichokes Barigoule", which is delicious, we hope you will be keen to come back to test it :) We have noted all your other feedbacks, in the objectif of always improve our services. We had a terrible “check in” with an underwhelming welcome, and were given a downgraded room with a view of a tree, blocking the anticipated view of the water. After we expressed our disappointment , we were placed in the correct room on the 3rd floor several hours later. Although this crested stress and feeling disrespected we could recognize the attempt to correct their wrong.
Overall, the views and ambiance are remarkable. The food was excellent and the staff are great. This is a newer hotel and some of the normal 5 star treatment was missing (slow to take and get drinks/food at pool restaurant and allowing non-guests to use pool area crowding the only pool available.
There is room for improvement but the unbelievable architecture and view made the stay worthwhile.

Lunch yesterday at La Piscine was excellent in every respect. Well done and many thanks to the exemplary team working at the restaurant all of whom were charming, efficient and attentive providing us with outstanding service. Design and materials used at the restaurant are first class and create a perfect environment to enjoy the stunning views over Monte Carlo. The food was delicious and absolutely perfect for lunch by the pool (we enjoyed tuna tartare, pizza, pasta & kale salad and a delightful light Rosé). Without exception the food was all beautifully presented, carefully and skilfully prepared and tasted delicious). The music played was excellent fitting and enhancing the vibe and the volume was just right. Most of all the team working at La Piscine were all outstanding. Highly recommended. We will definitely return.

Experience matched already high expectations associated with Maybourne brand.

Chloe, the star guest experience leader, spent quite a bit of time with me before arrival building a great itinerary and then followed up on each experience daily during our stay. The design of the hotel is unrivaled, with original art throughout and a long list of bankable designers who have put their mark on different corners of the property. The pool and beach club are great. Spa was perfect, both in terms of design (Andre Fu) and treatments (powered by Agustinus Bader). Food - from quick room service breakfast to flagship restaurants - was quite memorable and perfectly executed.

In terms of opportunities for the property, the gym could be a bit larger but you can take weights out onto the adjacent lawn and enjoy a sweat overlooking Monaco and the Mediterranean.

Overall was a beautiful stay, and we will be back.

As a Côte d’Azur residents, we craved to visit the south of France’s latest star. Came on a Friday evening for an aperitif : nested on the 14th floor of the Hotel, the Ceto Bar and its breathtaking view of the riviera stands proudly. The bar was empty, although we had to wait a long time to get our order taken and served. We ordered two Gin and tonic, served in the most basic presentation you can find at any bar, no coaster, no napkin, no amenities, what a disappointment. The outdoor furniture are cheap looking and not confortable.
The staff is not particularly friendly nor attentive nor chatty, a cheap service for a 5-Star Luxury Hotel newly opened. As a reminder: a 5-Stars service is:
“The act of taking care of the customer's (internal and external) needs, by providing and delivering professional, helpful, high quality service and assistance before, during, as well as after the customer's requirements are met.”
The most friendly and effective staff was the valet.
Definitely an Instagrammable place for the younger crown whom is not well traveled.

I had dinner at Ceto last night on the 14th floor and left feeling decidedly short changed.

In short -

Food 5/10
Service 5/10
Setting 9/10

Firstly the setting is stunning and the quality of materials and product is second to none.

The service was friendly but in terms of professionalism fell very far short of what I would expect of a Michelin Starred restaurant. As examples bread and bread plates were left on our table all meal, empty glasses littered our table and I served myself water all meal as it was clear no one else was going to! The food was slow and lacking any real punch.

A shame as it’s only a short drive from Monaco and could have become a ‘go to’ spot for a special meal but in my view there are better experiences closer to home or along the Riviera.

In May, we spent 2 nights at the Maybourne Riveira in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. The hotel is quite new and simply spectacular. From the views of Monte Carlo and Cap-Martin to the architecture of the building and the beauty of the rooms, this hotel is quite good. Laurene Boghossian, who coordinated our stay, was outstanding. All of the staff at the hotel went above and beyond to be helpful, including remembering guest's names and greeting them immediately. While there are a few startup issues to work out, we highly recommend this hotel.
