Stayed at this hotel July 15-18, while on business (& will have to go back for three full weeks) & was pleasantly surprised by how clean & comfortable it was for a budget hotel.
Stayed in room 115, a smoking room just off the main office. Room did not smell badly of cigarette, as many hotel smoking rooms can. Two comfortable beds with clean linens & even the bedspreads didn't seem dirty. Bathroom was clean, with plenty of hot water. A hairdryer, iron & ironing board are provided in the room. The television offers about 15 channels for free in English, including the big 4 US networks & the big Canadian ones (CTV, Global & CBC). A few other english channels- CNN & PBS, for example, are also available. The TV also can be used to rent movies.
All of the staff were very friendly & always helpful. From the manager to the cleaning staff, they were all quite nice & accomodating.
A breakfast buffet is included with your room. Three cold cereals, milk, coffee, tea, apple & orange juice, boiled eggs, a small selection of pastries, as well as bread/ toast & jam, peanut butter, etc...Frankly, the coffee isn't super, but it's acceptable &, for waht it is, the s[pread isn't so bad. Enough to satisfy most people for a quick start to the day!
You can park right outside your room, which is good, although you can't use your room's sliding door as access, as it can't be locked/ unlocked from outside (for obvious security reasons). The gas station right outside the hotel property (literally twenty five or thirty feet away) has a "depanneur" (convenience store) open 24/7. You can buy beer & a small selection of wine there until 11PM, each day. There is a small provincial liquor- "SAQ" store less than three minutes walk away as well. There are many chain-type restaurants nearby (some within easy walking distance, many more a three of four minute car ride away), including "Le Biftheque" (a mid-priced, Keg-like, Quebec-based steakhouse chain- this resto shares a parking lot with the hotel), "East Side Mario's", "Kelsey's" & "La Cage Au Sport". there are also a couple of more upscale places & moderately priced non-chain-type restaurants nearby. Montreal proper- downtown, is really quite close by car; I'd say 20 minutes, perhaps a bit more if traffic were heavy.
The property is located right off a major highway, in a commercial area, with residential just down the road a bit. The area seemed to me to be pretty safe, including at night. It was also fairly clean in the neighbourhood.
Believe it or not, they have a BEER vending machine in the ice/ vending machine room!
To sum up, Comfort Inn, Boucherville is a clean, perfectly acceptable hotel for it's class located quite conveniently just outside of Montreal with friendly/ helpful staff. I would happily stay there again for business & might even consider it for pleasure in the future to save some money if I travelled to Montreal for a hockey game or something.
