Hong Kong is a special region of the People’s Republic of China. A portion of the region is on the mainland and a portion is a small island just off of the mainland, but the busiest part and economic centre of the city is on the island.

It is one of the largest cities in the world and is considered an Alpha World City in terms of business and wealth. The culture is a mix of a south-eastern Asian metropolis and a British city, as remnants from the British rule of the past are still present.

There is almost too much to do in Hong Kong to narrow activities or attractions down to a few. The easiest way to start off a visit to the city is to buy an Octopus card which will allow you access to the city’s public transportation system. The city has everything from horse racing to some of the most incredible night life in the world. If children are present and entertainment needs to stay away from clubs and bars, Hong Kong Disneyland might be a welcome addition to an itinerary.

Hong Kong International Airport (airport code HKG), also known as Chek Lap Kok Airport to residents of Hong Kong, is one of the busiest airports in the world each year. More than 95 airlines operate flights out of Honk Kong International Airport to no fewer than 150 international destinations.

Hong Kong International Airport is a major hub for multiple airlines including Air Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific, Dragonair, Hong Kong Airlines, Air China, China Southern and China Eastern.

Approximately 70 airlines fly regularly scheduled routes into or out of the airport. Cathay Pacific flies most frequently from the airport with almost three times as many flights per year as the next most frequent airline, Dragonair. American Airlines and China Airlines also fly very frequently from Hong Kong International Airport.
