One of the gems of the South of France, Nice is the largest city of the French Riviera with a population of more than 350,000 and, after Paris, France's most visited city.
Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (airport code NCE) services the metropolis and nearby Monaco , Cannes, Antibes, and St. Tropez . Nearly 10 million passengers pass through the airport each year with a majority of them travelling via Air France, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Lufthansa, and NIKI airlines.
Cars are not allowed in the old town, which makes walking among its markets, cafes, and squares delightful.
The Musée Matisse and Musée Chagall are Nice's most precious museums. Musée Matisse holds more than 170 of Henri Matisse's works and the Musée Chagall features a variety of artistic mediums including large canvases, sculptures, stained glass windows, mosaics, tapestries, sketches, engravings, and lithographs.
Most visitors flock to the Promenade des Anglais which is the main waterfront promenade in Nice. The Promenade hosts a number of festivals and outdoor activities each year and has a beautiful beach.
Open six days a week (closed on Mondays), Nice's Cours Saleya Flower Market is packed with incredible produce and flowers and is lined by souvenir stores and cafes.
