Having not been to this theatre for a long time we had the opportunity to see the “Snowed in Comedy Tour” performance on January 14. We were seated in the very front row and could see and hear the show quite well. What a grand evening indeed. I have not laughed like this in a long time. This venue offers great seats, good prices for seniors and there is ample parking.

Took our British visitors to a Jill Barber concert at the Tidemark. We all loved it. Of course Jill was the high point of the evening. Still the theatre itself and the friendly and helpful staff ensured we had an experience to remember.

We've previously enjoyed concerts at this 70 y o theatre, which was renamed and re-opened as the Tidemark just over 30 years ago. Its revitalisation has been very successful. It's comfortable, community-friendly and the acoustics are surprisingly good.

We were there as a party-of-four, to enjoy a Jesse Cook concert. An ensemble of five outstanding musicians, the band specialises in nuevo flamenco, encompassing world music. We were stunned by this exciting concert... and rushed to purchase two CDs during intermission. A packed, sold-out audience were ecstatic... and the band responded by extending their show with an encore of old favourites.

Sadly, I was quite unprepared and my few iPhone pics fail to capture the excitement; but I'm sure we'll relive this brilliant concert in months and years-to-come, cranking out such musical perfection from our mezzanine, once home in Australia... .

Having enjoyed both live theatre and cinema at The Tidemark in past years, I was surprised and amused to see that it's now 'outfitted (in a) stand-out coat of (hot) pink'! Interesting too, to note that a recent poll scored just 6% favouring an all-grey option... .

To an alien (Canadian Fisheries call us that!) the Tidemark is more like 'a community' than a mere theatre / cinema. A band of really enthusiastic volunteers (the CRFF*) presents five films from the Toronto Film Festival here each season. First this year was Captain Fantastic, cinema so unique that many of us have been discussing the film (and its dream(?) sequences) since the showing.

Personally, I was surprised to see so many ‘rules’ on the screen, prior to the film. It’s probably a sign-of-the-times (rise in allergies/increase in litigation, perhaps?) that the Tidemark is now a ‘scent-free’ zone.

The pluses: Comfortable seating, clear projection, good-quality sound, quality wine on-sale at reasonable prices; and so far, an excellent choice of movie(s).

We travelled to Campbell River to attend a concert with our grandson performing in a production of Beauty and the Beast held at the Tidemark Theatre. The seating was good and the sound quality was very good as well. This theatre, located in downtown Campbell Rived offers ample parking across the street and offers easy access to find.

We were here for The Irish Rovers Concert. The Theater itself is Art Deco Style with comfortable seating for about 450 people. The Sound quality was excellent. The Theater is conveniently located within walking distance to Hotels and shops.

This is the third year that we have signed up for the Winter Festival of Film at the Tidemark Theatre in Campbell River and we weren't disappointed at all with the first showing for this year, "Brooklyn". The Tidemark is a top notch live and film venue with comfortable and a newly decorated lobby that is comfortable and has the capacity for people to not feel crowded. The management of the facility is professional. The community group that organizes the Festival works closely with the Toronto International Film Festival to bring in competently produced films with interesting topics and high quality actors. If you live in the area or if you are visiting in February and March, check out this Festival.

Just came across this review which seems to be more about the performance of a band than about the theatre itself. I was actually at this show and had a completely different experience. So here's mine, for what that's worth, since I can't reply directly to the reviewer who says they only saw half the show.

First off, the Tidemark theatre was very nice and I did not feel the sound was too loud, but I was sitting closer to the back. The theatre staff were pleasant and I've seen other shows there and it is a very professional and comfortable theatre.

As for the Pink Floyd tribute that night, I really have to say that you missed out. This was an amazing concert! I've been to many Floyd shows and tributes and Pigs are truly one of the best and sound and act like the real thing. I do think there were some minor sound issues at the beginning of the first set and the theatre should note that. But they didn't take away from most excellent performances by each person in the band. And terrific vocals and harmonies.

To be fair, there did seem to be about 2 or 3 times that I saw a couple of them chatting with each other for a few seconds in the first set. I also saw that. Mind you, I've seen that at Floyd shows too, so yes, it was a bit distracting but didn't seem to affect the quality of the actual performance. They didn't stop the music to chat or interrupt the show or anything like that. It was truly so minor. But the whole show was absolutely stellar - before intermission was all of the Wish You Were Here album. Second set was a mix of my favourites including an excellent, breathtaking performance of Echoes. I was there the whole show and if anyone left, I didn't notice them. Everyone I saw, and the theatre was very full, was riveted like myself and the band got multiple standing ovations and many cheers throughout. I would definitely see this band again and hope the Tidemark theatre brings them back to town soon.

Unfortunately the PIGS tribute was not very good. The lead guitarist had his guitar so loud that it drowned out the other guitars, drummer and keyboard player, and it was very difficult to hear the singing. We sat in the 5th row, excellent seats, and watched others around us cringing from the extreme volume noted above. The band members especially the lady singer and lead guitarist chit-chatted throughout which was very distracting...they seemed to be having problems? They had an intermission after one hour of playing and we decided to leave as did many others. We enjoy loud music at home and at other concerts including other Pink Floyd tributes but this was over the top to a point of ear and headaches. It was more like the band was having a practice in their gargae, not very organized at all.

Juice Newton's performance was awesome. She has such a great voice; sang all her major hits. The big surprise was her sense of humour and fun interaction with the audience. The Tidemark was sold out! We had a lot of laughs in between the excellent music. Highly recommend going to see her.
