Food is okay,

We ordered food for takeout this week, and none of the restaurant staff were wearing masks; not the front desk personnel, not the people in the kitchen. We're in the middle of a pandemic, guys. Do better or I won't come back. On to the food -- it's perfectly fine but nothing special. Everything comes with butter sauce, and I mean everything. You have look long and hard to find something without butter sauce. The restaurant is clean and attractive and the staff are very nice.

Great meal

We booked into the Spice Hut after a day on the water. There were eight of us. Although we arrived a bit early our table was ready. Service was prompt and courteous and the food delicious. The servings were more than adequate, and provision was made to take away leftovers which were still very tasty the next day. An altogether very good dining experience.

Pleasant stop for lunch

Found our selves in this shopping area at lunch time. Dropped in for a quick bite, well the menu was so interesting we stayed for an hour. The kitchen is open and visible from the tables. The staff are very accommodating and the dishes we had were done to perfection. Tikka Chicken and one of their several Lamb dishes. EXCELLENT. This is a quiet location next to London Drugs, Save On Foods, BCLO, and several other stores. Large parking area available. Will return to sample other items on their menu...

Great Indian Food!

Lovely clean and bright restaurant. The server was helpful and brought water without asking. The food is sublime! We went at lunchtime and were told they couldn’t adjust menu items easily as most food had been prepped. With all my allergies it was still easy to order a meal; it helped having items labeled gluten and lactose free. I had the fish curry and basmati rice, which is dressed with saffron and lemon. He had the bindi masala and a HUGE plain naan. We opted for the medium spice level, which I found a bit cheeky but not overly so. The washrooms are also spotless!

Good East Indian food.

Went here for dinner with the family. We ordered lamb masala, chicken korma, and balak paneer with garlic Naan and rice. Food arrived quickly even though it was busy. Solid East Indian food tailored for a western palate. Will be back.

Tasty and good value Indian food

Looking for a change from fish and chips or a steak and baked potato we decided to give Spice Hut a try. The menu was quite familiar to a Brit used to UK curry houses so we chose some Samosas to start with which were huge and excellent. The pastry was short and dry rather than oily and flaky but still excellent. We had Butter chicken (sauce heavy on the tomatoes) and chicken Karahi (thick vegetable sauce) which were both good. They were accompanied by a monster mound of fluffy basmati (a small one would have been enough for two of us) which was tasty and a really good naan which was nicely thin and crisp. If they can do good naan then the tandoori dishes should be good too. Finally, the mango lassis were brilliant being full of mango flavour if a little sweet for my tooth

Awesome Food

Delicious food and plenty of it. Naan bread done the old fashion way👍. I recommend Mango chicken curry, side of garlic naan and rice. Don’t bother with an appy not needed. Wherever you travel in BC check if they have one.

Takeout Packaging and Waste

"We ordered takeout for 4 last evening. The delivery was prompt and the food was delicious. However, we are quite disappointed with the takeout packaging, namely the use of styrofoam containers, and plastic bags. It is much appreciated when other restaurants are mindful of waste when they use tinfoil containers which can be washed and then recycled. We are ever mindful to do business with those that do. "

Huge servings and delicious food. Friendly waitress. The garlic naan is delicious portions are huge here and could be shared between two people. The prawn masala is delicious would definitely come back very good chai tea too

Perfect for lunch

We had a good lunch at The Spice Hut. The eggplant and lamb curries were delicious. We skipped the rice and opted for the naan to soak up all the sauces.

Unhygienic Stay away

The fast food version of Indian style meals. Frozen vegetables in the dishes. Poor quality. Wait staff very nice, however how they still show up to work every day ?? Witnessed verbal rebuttal from cooks and owners to waitress. Later found out the naan bread had been dropped but ‘dusted’ off and put back on serving plate. This place should be thoroughly investigated.

the alooghobi was fantastic, rice very nice, somaso very good, spicy naan too spicy for me but my husband loved it. The Rashmali was the best we've every had - all around excellent place to eat.

Great Indian Food in Campbell River

My wife and I are currently traveling through the West of Canada. We stayed in Campbell River on the way to Port Hardy. We were hungry and found this place in TripAdvisor. We liked the food and the service was friendly and efficient. The dinner tasted great. It was in fact a bit spicy but not too much. We both had tandoori chicken (with and also without bones). Just great.
