Students have free access to a wide range of academic software available in the Virtual Computer Lab (VCL). The VCL is an online platform, allowing you to access this resource wherever you go. I'm faculty/staff and need to request VCL access. How do I make that request?
To request access, contact the NYU IT Service Desk and include a justification for access that meets the academic work requirement. Use of VCL for general business purposes is prohibited.
How do I save files created in the VCL?
You cannot save files inside the VCL. You have three options for saving your work:

Can I access the Adobe Suite in the VCL?
No. The Adobe Suite is not currently available in the VCL. For students who need access to Adobe, we encourage you to visit one of the Student Technology Centers, which have computers with Adobe Suite available.
Can I install software from the VCL onto my own computer?
No, the VCL is a cloud-based system. You cannot download software from it. For a full list of NYU IT's Software Resources, including software products, applications, and services provided by NYU or licensed for distribution and use by eligible NYU community members visit the Software Resources page.
Do alumni have access to the VCL?
No. The VCL is for currently degree-enrolled students only.
