Lost Property

We're sorry to hear you've lost something - but we're going to help you find it!

All coats and clothing found will be kept in the LSU cloakroom, which is through the double doors past Bom Bom Patisserie, towards The Basement. The cloakroom will be open for lost property collections from 11am to 3pm on Mondays and Thursdays during term time.

If there is no staff member present when you come to collect, please call the LSU Duty Manager on 07706 324866.

All items will be kept for seven days from the date they are found, after which, all uncollected items will be donated to charity.

All found student IDs, driving licences and bank cards will be kept at the LSU Welcome Desk. The Welcome Desk is open from 10am-3pm Monday to Friday during term time.

  • University student ID cards will be kept for 28 days (four weeks) from the date they are found, before being returned to Loughborough University.
  • Driving licenses will be kept for 28 days (four weeks) from the date they are found, before being returned to the DVLA.
  • Bank cards found with additional forms of identification will be kept for seven days (one week) before being destroyed. Any bank cards found on their own will be immediately and securely disposed of.

Found keys will be kept at the LSU Welcome Desk. The Welcome Desk is open from 10am-3pm Monday to Friday during term time.

If your key(s) can be identified via a keyring or similar, they will be kept for seven days (one week) from the date they are found, before being handed to Campus Security for secure disposal.

Any unidentifiable keys will be handed to Campus Security for immediate and secure disposal.

Valuable items which are found (including mobile phones, jewellery, laptops, tablets, earphones etc.) will be stored at the LSU Welcome Desk. The Welcome Desk is open from 10am-3pm Monday to Friday during term time.

Valuable items will be kept for 28 days (four weeks), following which, all uncollected items will be disposed of or donated to charity.

The cloakroom is operated by Loughborough Students’ Union during events organised by LSU or co-organised with other entities on the grounds of LSU or outside its premises.

Any items or valuables stored in the cloakroom shall be left at the owners' risk and responsibility. LSU will not take responsibility for lost or misplaced items.

LSU shall not accept the following items to be stored in the cloakrooms:

  • Valuables (e.g., a laptop, photo equipment, a mobile phone, earphones, jewellery).
  • Personal ID cards and other documents.
  • Coats and other items left for storage in the cloakroom are subject to payment in accordance with the LSU price list.
  • The fee is charged prior to accepting the items for storage. A physical receipt is issued as proof of payment.
  • A ticket will be issued following the item’s acceptance into the cloakroom. We recommend taking a photo of your ticket (in case it is misplaced).
  • It is not allowed to accept a few items of clothing of a few people for storage under one ticket. Multiple items of clothing or clothing for multiple people will not be accepted under one ticket.
  • To collect the items from the cloakroom the original ticket must be presented.
  • In case of losing the ticket, please email union@lsu.co.uk and provide a photo of the ticket.
  • All items must be collected on the day they were left for storage/ immediately after the event.
  • Any outerwear and other items which are not collected immediately after the event will need to be collected from the LSU Cloakroom on Monday or Thursday between 11.00am – 4.00pm.
  • Any items not collected within 7 days (as of the day following the day the items were left for storage) shall be deemed abandoned property.
  • All uncollected items will be donated to charity following this period.
