💡Technology talk💡 In June this year, our dedicated team from APL After-Sales & Services went offshore to replace the offloading hoses on the stern discharge system (SDS) at Mariner B floating storage unit (FSU). For this challenging project, we designed and manufactured a customized hanging work platform. This platform is specifically tailored to the requirements of Mariner B FSU https://lnkd.in/g7gBcNmT and Heidrun B FSU https://lnkd.in/gG5a-3WD enabling an safe and efficient exchange of the offloading hoses.   The project was well planned and executed bringing SIMOPs together with Normand Ferking AHTS Normand Ferking - Solstad https://lnkd.in/gbatQ42k and the Mariner B FSU crew. 💡Technology talk💡 The Single Anchor Loading (SAL) system is a subsea loading system for shuttle tankers designed to be the sole offtake system for fixed and floating production units in harsh North Sea conditions. 20 SAL systems are currently in operation across five countries, with the first installed in 1999 and the latest installed this year. Located on the seafloor, away from wave action and surface vessels, the mid-ship SAL allows vessels to weathervane freely while providing a robust, low-maintenance alternative to catenary anchor leg mooring (CALM) buoys.
