Personal Update: Next week, I'm turning the page on an incredible chapter at Fleetio to begin a new journey I'll gladly share with you in the coming weeks. But first, a moment of gratitude. Fleetio has been a game changer for my career. The team I work with daily cares more about the product and its users than anywhere else I've been a part of. I deeply appreciate every person I worked with, the challenges we conquered, and the innovation we sparked together. It's been a journey of growth, learning, and unforgettable moments for me! I am very thankful to Esteban Contreras, who believed in me, trusted me, and worked beside me, evolving the team and product to unimaginable heights. Zeljka Hassler Alex McNeal Ben Bloodworth Koy Carraway Ry Keel Haley Phillipp Emma Kopplin, Adam Dutton, Jeff Nissen, Alli Pane Guiney, Mandi Saeteun, Ginny, and Alex—working with, talking with, and laughing with you daily was the most exciting part of my day! The relationships we've built, the work we've accomplished, and the fun we've had will forever be a monumental mark in my career. I will deeply miss each of you. And, of course, Claire Flowers ⚫, I am so grateful to have built our friendship and our podcast. I am so excited to keep it moving and continue learning with you as we interview incredible guests. You have made every work day more fun—I am grateful for that and you! Autumn Swanson, you rallied behind me in the interview process and became one of my closest partners as we built the design team over the last year. You are one hell of a recruiter! 🙌 As I look towards my next adventure, I prioritize ensuring that Fleetio’s Product Design team finds its next visionary leader. This talented team deserves someone who deeply cares about design, the work, and them. The team seeks more than a Director of Product Design. 15,000. 15K!! I am so appreciative of all who follow me. In celebration of hitting this insane milestone, I thought I would take a moment to re-introduce myself to new followers and tell you a little about me. I typically post about design and never myself, and I am super shy about selfies, so this is a rare moment on LinkedIn for me lol. 1️⃣📝 The reason I started creating content on LinkedIn: I have never seen more difficult times than what we face now in the industry. I hear the same questions continually. I knew that if a small portion of people continually ask similar things, there must be many more with the same curiosity. With layoffs, design hiring changes, and confusion - I wanted to help. I became way more serious about mentoring. I started listening more intently to concerns. One day, I simply started posting. And it was scary. But here we are, together. In this and learning side-by-side. I have taken time off from content for a while. In transparency, I got down by all the conflicting information I saw. I didn't want to contribute to the problem. And I thought I might be. But, with much reflection, I am coming back. I want to stick to my initial "why" - to help. 2️⃣ 🎭 I'm a theatre major. Yep, you heard that right. I've always been a creative at heart. I grew up in theatre and music. Yet, the analytics side of my brain was never satisfied. I took a left turn into design, and here I am. I have a very untraditional path into product design. 3️⃣ 🧠 I have ADHD. I've worked for years on focus habits and task skills. It's now become one of my favorite parts about me. So many hobbies. (Hyperfocus for the win) 4️⃣ ⛳ I have been a golfer since high school, albeit a poor one. It's the only thing that helps with focus. The golf course is my happy place. 5️⃣ 🐶 I have three ridiculously high-maintenance dogs. 1 Shih Tzu and 2 Malshis. 6️⃣ 👶 I have three ridiculously cute kids. (a set of twins included in that bunch). 7️⃣ 😬 I am a chronic overextender. I usually have 18 projects going at once and always have some on the back burner ready to start. 8️⃣ 🛠️ I consider myself a builder at this point of my career. I build teams, processes, and skills. 9️⃣ 🏈 I am a massive sports fan. I have followed the Kansas City Chiefs since I was a kid and am obsessed with Arsenal. 🔟 🎸 I play guitar. I am way better at buying them than I ever have been at playing them. _________________ LinkedIn and the relationships I've made here have been a game changer for me. I love helping people. I enjoy hearing about your experience and helping you through situations. I'll keep up the tips. I'm seriously grateful for each one of you. 💜🧡🫶 But enough about me, tell me about you!
