  • VR180 POV: New Tech, Creative Thinking and Problem-Solving

    VR180 is an interesting new format in the world of immersive media, finding itself placed snugly between the traditional 2D video format we are all used to, and the 360º degree video format that can be more daunting. With that in mind, we set out to discover how exactly VR180 technology works, how it can be used to tell strong narratives in different POVs, how a desired effect can be achieved, and how to work around problems that may exist in this format.

    Solitary VR is a short puzzle solving, “prison break” experience. Players are tasked with breaking out of a prison by switching between different characters in isolated locations. These characters will work together towards their ultimate end goal; to gain their freedom. This project was designed for a walkable 8x8 foot experience.

    The purpose of the project is to develop 360° training experiences for the medical faculty so that they can immerse themselves within real emergency procedures and observe the role of each person in the room. We had six different camera positions inside of the Emergency Room, meant to mimic six different points of view: Anesthesiologist, Head Nurse, Emergency Room Doctor, Patient, Scribe and Emergency Room Intern. The Medicaid Equity Simulation Project uses virtual reality, three-dimensional multimedia sensory environments, as an educational tool to improve Medicaid providers’ cultural competency and increase awareness of social determinants of health.

  • Disney Imaginations

    I teamed up with a talented and diverse group of students to design an interactive attraction themed around one of the ancient wonders of the world. Our attraction took inspiration from the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and was designed to be built in Erbil Iraq. Keeping a special eye on the environmental impact, this attraction celebrated Arabic innovation over time through a series of escape room-like challenges the whole family could enjoy.
