Matt Fujita’s Post

Although I couldn’t be more excited to turn the page to the next chapter of my career as a Senior Division Marketing Specialist at Wendy’s, it’s been difficult to put into words what my three seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets have meant to me. As a kid, the Jackets were my favorite team to watch. I would have never dreamt that years later some of my favorite athletes might end up working at desks just down the hall from mine. Or that some of them might also help hockey become my favorite sport to play through their coaching during staff games. Or that I might go sailing with another on the exact same type of boat on which I learned to sail. Or that I might get to skate onto the ice pre-game with the players for the national anthem in front of a sold out crowd. Or that I might help plan and execute the first jersey retirement in the team’s history for another. Or that I might get to co-direct the annual team photoshoot and be the stand-in for the test shots. It’s been a journey that I will always cherish. I will forever be grateful for the memories I’ve made, experiences I’ve lived, lessons I’ve learned, projects I’ve accomplished, and friends I’ve made along the way. Thanks, CBJ. I love ya.
