Exciting funding news from LH portfolio company K Health
"As I invest in the AI landscape, I have found it incredibly difficult to discover companies making tangible, real-world progress with AI," Marcelo Claure, Founder and CEO of Claure Group, said. "K Health is the first company I've seen successfully using AI to impact millions of lives. They are addressing some of healthcare's greatest challenges by providing accessibility to faster, higher-quality, lower cost care on a large scale." Peer-reviewed, clinical-grade AI is the path forward to innovating in care delivery. K’s AI co-pilot transforms the primary care visit, delivering dramatically higher quality of care at lower costs vs traditional primary care. Together with leading health systems, K Health integrates virtual care with brick-and-mortar to create scalable access to primary care. Excited to announce K Health’s most recent round of funding, led by Claure Group, with participation from investors including Pablo Legorreta, and existing investors Mangrove Capital Partners, Valor Equity Partners, and Atreides Management, LP. Exciting news from LH portfolio company Urban Sky
Thrilled to announced a new multi-million dollar, multi-year grant from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration to advance our stratospheric wildfire monitoring technology. The stratosphere offers value no other domain can in the fight against wildfires - the ability to loiter persistently above fires for hours or days, to scan and map fires in real-time and in higher resolution than satellites (though with similar scan rates), to fly high above any firefighting aircraft (thus posing limited airspace risk), and to be rapidly deployed in minutes when and where firefighters need assets the most. Our system will not only capture real-time, high-resolution, broad-area fire data, but it will carry a communications node that will allow data to be transmitted directly down to firefighters operating in remote, low-connectivity areas. This is work we are proud to pioneer. And we're hiring, so come join us and help! Thrilled to partner with NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, goTenna, Chapman University, and University of Colorado Boulder on this program. Stay tuned for more! Shoutout to Riley Reid, Ian McCubbin, Joshua Fisher, & Christine Wiedinmyer for leading this effort behind the scenes!

Last night Female Founders Fund partnered with Lerer Hippeau and Ramp to host a “Female Founder in AI Panel.” Special thanks to speakers Sheila Lirio Marcelo, Emilie Poteat, and Kat Garcia, and Isabelle Phelps for moderating the discussion. Some key takeaways: 💡 Sheila Lirio Marcelo reminded us that leadership matters in AI. We need more female founders the serve as leaders in this space as the category is being built out. 💡 Emilie Poteat shared the importance of awareness of the impact of policy shifts, and governance and management of individual's data to uphold personal privacy as our data becomes more accessible. 💡 Kat Garcia highlighted the advantage that AI startups have the move quickly and iterate in comparison to legacy leaders and large companies. Finally, one of the greatest lessons was for female founders to carry themselves with an “authentic boldness” when it comes to building their companies and fundraising to scale. We are excited to see that in 2023 more than 50% of U.S. investment went to AI companies with at least one female founder for a total of around $21 billion. We are hopeful that this number will continue to increase as more female founders create the companies of the future powered by these technological advancements. If you are a female founder building in AI, we'd love to hear from you! Submit your pitches to pitches@femalefoundersfund.com #femalefounders #womenleaders #womenintech #vc #startups #ai #womeninai
