Last night Female Founders Fund partnered with Lerer Hippeau and Ramp to host a “Female Founder in AI Panel.” Special thanks to speakers Sheila Lirio Marcelo, Emilie Poteat, and Kat Garcia, and Isabelle Phelps for moderating the discussion. Some key takeaways: 💡 Sheila Lirio Marcelo reminded us that leadership matters in AI. We need more female founders the serve as leaders in this space as the category is being built out. 💡 Emilie Poteat shared the importance of awareness of the impact of policy shifts, and governance and management of individual's data to uphold personal privacy as our data becomes more accessible. 💡 Kat Garcia highlighted the advantage that AI startups have the move quickly and iterate in comparison to legacy leaders and large companies. Finally, one of the greatest lessons was for female founders to carry themselves with an “authentic boldness” when it comes to building their companies and fundraising to scale. We are excited to see that in 2023 more than 50% of U.S. investment went to AI companies with at least one female founder for a total of around $21 billion. We are hopeful that this number will continue to increase as more female founders create the companies of the future powered by these technological advancements. If you are a female founder building in AI, we'd love to hear from you! Submit your pitches to pitches@femalefoundersfund.com #femalefounders #womenleaders #womenintech #vc #startups #ai #womeninai
Sorry I missed it Sheila Lirio Marcelo!

Great summary and panel update. You mentioned 50% of investments went to AI companies with atleast 1 female founder. Whats the breakdown of the other 50%? It’s exciting to see the needle continue to move- especially in an industry changing so quickly.
