Morgan Stanley’s Sandwich Showdown: Round Two! 🥪🏆 On Wednesday, we transformed Morgan Stanley Global HQ into a sandwich-making arena for the second time this June! In an impressive double-header, 100+ employees raced to assemble a whopping 2,000+ sunbutter and jelly sandwiches across two high-energy rounds. The trading floor's competitive spirit was on full display as teams vied for sandwich-making glory. But the real winners? Seven community partners across Harlem, Upper Manhattan, and the Bronx, receiving these freshly crafted meals. Grassroots Grocery squad Julia Shapiro, Alexandra Whiteford, Jordan Motzkin, Pablo Chavana, and Abigael Hartlieb brought the energy (and the sunbutter!) to keep the sandwich making moving. Tuesday was an absolute blast as we teamed up with the fantastic people at Viking Global Investors for a Grassroots Grocery sandwich race! Together, we crafted over 1,200 sandwiches, with the Brave Broccolis clinching first place! 🥦✨ These delicious creations were delivered to seven different communities across Harlem and the Bronx, spreading nourishment and joy. Grassroots Grocery Directions for Our Youth, Inc. Daniel Zauderer Elisa Istueta 115 families were served today. As completed our school year programming. We ended on a great note I'm truly grateful for the incredible partnership between Grassroots Grocery Grocery and the inspiring founder Daniel Zauderer Zauderer, as well as the entire dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Another fantastic year at Butler Cornerstone Community Center has come to an end, and I am already looking forward to reuniting with everyone in September as we kick off our summer program. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to my outstanding team at Directions for Our Youth, Inc. Butler Cornerstone Community Center staff members Their unwavering support is truly invaluable, and they deserve all the recognition for their incredible work.

Wow, what an incredible event yesterday at Morgan Stanley's Global HQ! Stepping away from the trading floor and diving into sunbutter sandwich-making madness, we showcased the power of teamwork at the Grassroots Grocery Great Sandwich Race! 🥪💼 In two dynamic rounds, 150+ employees crafted an incredible 2,000 sunbutter and jelly sandwiches. The Bountiful Bananas and the Bubbly Blueberries led the pack, assembling 156 and 169 sandwiches respectively. 🏆 The best part? These delicious creations were delivered to eight local community partners across Harlem, Upper Manhattan, and the Bronx, spreading joy and nourishment to those who need it most. 🌈🌟 A huge shout-out to Kaitlyn Paredes, Minori Rueda, Alison Stechler, and Tanasha Shiwnarain of the Community Affairs team for orchestrating such a seamless event. 👏 Your efforts truly embody Morgan Stanley's unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the community. 60 Chase employees, some with their family members, joined me and Carla Zakhem-Hassan to volunteer with Grassroots Grocery. We’ve made this a bit of a tradition in the last few years, bringing together our New York-based teams for a day of giving to help those in the area struggling with food insecurity. Daniel Zauderer and his team are addressing this issue with dignified food access through partnerships with community groups who get fresh food to those who need it most. In just a few hours our teams unloaded a truck full of unsold product rescued from a produce market, organizing the groceries into smaller packages and delivered them to community organizers. In all, we were able to get thousands of pounds of food to more than 1,600 households. I'd also like to give a big shout out to Joseph DeGiorgio CSM and Jeff Mooallem from Urban Edge Properties for making the space available for Grassroots Grocery to do its important work! I’m so incredibly proud of the Chase team who gave their time on this sunny spring day to support those in our community in need. Dan O'Donnell, a longtime Chase employee in our Product organization, has been a huge advocate for this work, attending more than 20 Grassroots Grocery packing events. This year, I will be running the 2024 NYC Marathon on November 3rd with Grassroots Grocery. As an active member of Apollo’s Citizenship Advisory Council, I put a lot of effort into doing as much as I can to make a difference in my community. Recently, I had the opportunity to volunteer with Grassroots Grocery preparing PB&J sandwiches for underprivileged communities and experience firsthand what Daniel Zauderer & his team at Grassroots are trying to accomplish. Today, only one in four New Yorkers who experience a food emergency have access to a food pantry. Grassroots Grocery’s mission is to bring the pantry to the people by partnering with trusted community leaders who distribute food to their neighbors. My one most important new year’s resolution was to run a marathon this year and I am incredibly honoured to be doing so in my city on behalf of the inspiring team at Grassroots Grocery.
