60 Chase employees, some with their family members, joined me and Carla Zakhem-Hassan to volunteer with Grassroots Grocery. We’ve made this a bit of a tradition in the last few years, bringing together our New York-based teams for a day of giving to help those in the area struggling with food insecurity. Daniel Zauderer and his team are addressing this issue with dignified food access through partnerships with community groups who get fresh food to those who need it most. In just a few hours our teams unloaded a truck full of unsold product rescued from a produce market, organizing the groceries into smaller packages and delivered them to community organizers. In all, we were able to get thousands of pounds of food to more than 1,600 households. I'd also like to give a big shout out to Joseph DeGiorgio CSM and Jeff Mooallem from Urban Edge Properties for making the space available for Grassroots Grocery to do its important work! I’m so incredibly proud of the Chase team who gave their time on this sunny spring day to support those in our community in need. Dan O'Donnell, a longtime Chase employee in our Product organization, has been a huge advocate for this work, attending more than 20 Grassroots Grocery packing events.
